I was watching Sports Center this morning on ESPN and the pass from Liggins to Patterson for the reverse dunk was number 5. I haven't seen a video posted online yet, but I'm sure it will show up on you tube at some point. Liggins really has the vision to make some spectacular passes. Hopefully he will continue to get more consistent with his decision making. It really helps to have him and Darius starting to play better.

This is article is a bit harsh on the SEC, but I do think the league has got some work to do to get some respect back after the early season upsets. A win today over Miami sure would help. I thought it was interesting that Greg Anthony mentioned that he thought both Kentucky and Tennessee had final four talent.

Tie Breaker

Looking at the remaining schedule for UK and Vandy, the Cats schedule is not easy by any means, but is a bit more favorable than Vandy's since we have Arkansas at home. I couldn't remember what they use for the tiebreaker for seeding in the SEC tournament, if for example both teams end up with an 11-5 record and split the regular season games against each other. Hopefully they don't use the number of points. Does anybody here know?

I find myself craving some Hoops discussion

I am enjoying all the football discussion, but as the Big Blue Blogosphere has transformed itself into a legit football crazed community, I find myself going through a bit of a let down following Big Blue Madness. While I was happy to get to watch the event on Fox Sports South, I have to say the excitement didn't quite come across like it would have being there live. My wife, a Michigan State alum, told me several times she didn't get it and that it looked pretty lame. I attended midnight madness at Memorial Coliseum from the time I was a freshman in high school and almost every year that I was attending UK. I have not attended one since it moved to Rupp, but I imagine it is still something that people just won't understand unless they experience it live. My favorite one I have to say was 1996 which included one of the most amazing scrimmages I have ever seen with Anderson, Walker, McCarty, Delk, Mercer, Epps, Pope, Shephard, Turner, Prickett, Edwards. That was a seriously competitive lineup. I remember Dereck Anderson bringing the house down with a fast break pass off the back board to Walker(I think) for a thunderous roof-shaking jam. Memorial Coliseum rocked! Share your own midnight madness thoughts if you are so inclined.

Interesting matchup??? Woodson vs. T. Polo

I have to admit that before the Lindley fumble recovery and return to score at the end of the first half I was finding myself drifting off into thoughts of "Only 3 more weeks to Big Blue Madness!" Anyway, with the way that the Cats have closed out the past two games it's been pretty amazing to be a UK football fan these days. I even found myself scanning today for info on Florida Atlantic. An interesting thing I noticed is that the they have a Freshman leading Div IA in interceptions. Could this be the streak ender for Woodson? Do you think the streak is holding Woodson back as far as being a bit hesitant or too careful with the ball resulting in too many sacks?

Obviously, Woodson is off to a great start this year. Maybe he is not putting up huge Heisman stats compared to some of the other candidates, but he's making good decisions and providing the leadership that is getting us over the hump and winning ball games. I think the balanced running attack may keep Woodson's numbers from being a final contender for the award, but I'd rather have the team be fighting for a spot in the SEC championship. Who knows? There's still a lot of football to be played.
