Bleed Cubbie Blue What games are platinum, gold etc?

Does anyone know yet which dates this season will be bronze, silver, gold, and platnium?  I'm trying to make up a schedule of my own with all the home dates listed by day, time, opponent and price level.  I saw the sheet Al posted a while back indicating the number of each type of game, but haven't had any luck (outside of an educated guess) finding a schedule with the pricing tier for individual games.

Also, if anybody would like a copy of the sheet (excel) when I'm finished, it should be pretty nice for people with season tickets that sell some to keep track of games, prices, and who has them.

Bleed Cubbie Blue Can I make season tickets affordable?

This is primarily directed at current season ticket holders, but anybody else who buys or sells a fair number of tickets may be of help.  Apparently the Cubs are expanding season tickets in the bleachers, and offering extra tickets to current holders first.  My uncle currently holds 4 tickets, and apparently has been offered two more, which he has in turn offered to me.

I know most of you would say "come on you idiot, why are you even questioning this?!" but the problem is, I live in Champaign and have a full time job.  During the summer the wife (HS teacher) and I could probably make it up to half the home games, but we'd have a lot of dates we couldn't get to.  Additionally, at a time like this I have a hard time justifying an 8k purchase for tickets.

To the point:

What I want to know is two fold really: (1) Is it possible to go to about half the games and make up the rest of the cost in other sold tickets and (2) does anybody know of affordable transportation option from Champaign (Amtrak, Megabus, and Greyhound all cost more than it would to drive).

I'm willing to sell most of the premium games and only go to one sox and one cards game.  Help me out and let me know if there are other people out there who do this.  This is an opportunity of a lifetime, but at only 25 I want to make sure I don't commit both of us working until we're 80 because of it.

Thanks for any insight!!

Bleed Cubbie Blue Unofficial Brewers/Cards diary?

Well, I don't see a diary started for the brewers cards game, so i guess I'll start one.

As has been thrown around alot, our magic number is 4, and you can see that nice little bear up in the corner telling you that as well.  Let's hope we can get that number down to three.  It looks like

Pujols is going to be in the lineup tonight after doubts about whether he was out for the year, so he'll be shooting for that 3 digit mark in RBI for the 7th straight year, and every year of his great career (although he is a card).

Let's hope the cards can pour it on and play spoiler and the Brewers keep the poor play going.  Let's get to the bullpen early and be 4 games up tomorrow!  Go Cardinals!

Bleed Cubbie Blue Reds Protest Denied

While browsing the Reds site for tickets for the Cubs final games there I noticed that they have had their protest denied by MLB.  A short, and I do mean short article can be found not quite detailing it here.

Pretty glad this was not upheld, as the reason for the protest was absolutley ridiculous.  Rick Reed, the umpire of the game said himself that they had no grounds for the protest, and it was pretty clear aftewards that it was a stupid thing for them to do.

Also, is anyone clear on the rule about having to pay $25,000 to protest and why the Reds were waived this fee?  Especially in a case where their protest seemed so stupid I was wondering why they weren't required to pay.  As BB said, if he didn't have to pay, he would have just protested everything!

Now, let's go Atlanta!
