Cubs convention program
Hey BCBers, hope everyone had a great time at the Cubs Convention this year. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to make it up to Chicago to attend this year's festivities. Over the years I've been able to collect just about every program from every Cubs Convention (the only one I'm missing are from the first, second, third and fourth conventions). I was hoping there might be someone out there willing to part with their program from this year's convention so I can add it to my every expanding Cubs Convention collection. If you'd be willing to part with your program please email me at niuprez(a)sbcglobal.net. I'm more than happy to cover postage, etc. and pay you for the program.
Thanks

Cubs locker room sale
Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to go to this year's Cubs Convention. I know there must be some Cubs collectors out there so I was wondering if anyone out there went to the locker room sale? Any good deals? Any unusual items? I guess I'm just looking for a summary of what occurred. It's always been a favorite stop of mine at the convention.

Cubs convention
I know everyone is probably asking, but I'm hoping someone out there might have two tickets to the Cubs Convention they'd be willing to sell. Unfortunately, I was in a meeting when the tickets went on sale and my wife forgot all about getting online to buy any.
Of course, by the time I got done with the meeting, the tickets were gone. i can think of nothing more wonderful than spending a January weekend in Chicago. If you have any tickets to sell, please e-mail me at niuprez(a)sbcglobal.net
Thanks

First Cubs Convention
Okay, I'm stymied. I been looking for the last few years for a program from the first Cubs Convention. So far, I've been able to locate programs for all but the first four conventions.
Does anyone out there have any idea where I might get a program from the first convention. I've even attended a few conventions over the years and haven't been able to find one with any of the dealers who sell stuff at the convention.
Actually, I'm not really sure whether there was a program for the first convention. Does anyone who attended that first convention know the answer to that question? I suspect they didn't hand out programs like they do now, but it may have been a one-sheet listing of events, etc. Anyway, whatever help you could give would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Cubs Fan Club
Okay, I've been going back and forth about joining the Cubs Fan Club for the wonderfully low price of $19.95, but is it worth the money?
Has anyone else out there bothered to join? What kind of ticket offers and other benefits does the club provide?
I get the strange feeling that this is just a scam by MLB to get subscriptions to Game Day audio.
I'm interested in all comments.
Go Cubs!!!!

Any interest in a dairy about Cubs memorabilia....
As an avid collector of Cubs and Wrigley Field memorabilia, I was wondering whether the BCB Nation might be interested in a threat or dairy dealing with Cubs memorabilia? It might be a great way for use to exchange information about our collections, items available at places like the Cubs garage sale, etc. Having moved from Chicago about 7 years ago, I'm sometimes out of the loop (no pun intended) about sales, auctions, etc. taking place in the Chicago area.
It also will be a place for folks to answer questions about various pieces of Cubs memorabilia or give people information on piece they may already have and want to know more about.
Not sure what everyone thinks about this, but thought I'd throw it out there for comment.

I couldn't make the convention but have a request.....
Unfortunately, (and despite my wife's best efforts) we couldn't get tickets to this year's convention. Even though I considered driving up from Indianapolis to see if anyone was scalping tickets, I ended up working Saturday so my plans were derailed.
I'm hoping some BCBer out there might be able to help. I've put together a really nice collection of Cubs Convention stuff over the years (in fact I have every program expect for years 1 through 4, a less impressive collection of tickets to the convention and lapel pins.
Anyone out there who went to this year's convention willing to part with an extra program or ticket that I can add to my convention collection? Any "donation" to the cause would be greatly appreciated by a Cubs fan in Indy. You can e-mail me at niuprez (at) sbcglobal.net (Yes, I'm a Northern Illinois University grad) or leave a response on this post.
Thanks. Go Cubs.

Cubs Convention right around the corner
Okay, so I'm not below begging. While my wife, daughter and I tried to get tickets to the Cubs Convention over the phone, we were shutout.
So here's my plea -- Does anyone out there have extra tickets for the convention that they might not be using? I'd love to surprise my wife and daughter who attended their first convention last year and were surprised that they really enjoyed it.
Anyway, thanks in advance.

Some bleacher trivia...
Okay, I know that the bleachers are usually general admission, but I recall that during playoff (those rare occasions)there is assigned seating. Does anyone know what those old bleacher section numbers were? I think they've been changed this year. Just curious and thought some of your veterans of the bleachers might be able to help out.

Cub garage sale
As a collector of Wrigley memorabilia, I decided to make the drive up from Indy on Saturday to check out the "garage sale." The weather was great and it was a great excuse to get back to Chicago (I moved to Indy six years ago.) Although there were plenty of folks at the park, I was surprised how smoothly everything seemed to move (even the line to buy bricks and bleacher pieces, which at one point stretched from the tick window to the Harry Caray statue.) Even the prices were better than I expected, $25 for a brick, $50 for a bleacher piece and $10 for a bleacher brace. I estimate I spend about a half hour in line to buy some bricks, but about a half our later, as I was leaving the park, I notice there was no line at all. (I guess I timed it wrong.)
The amazing thing was that some folks were hauling bricks out of there by the truckload (I guess they were planning to build a patio or something). Either way there were plenty of brick available and what seemed like plenty of bleacher pieces. The team ran out of bleacher braces about 10 a.m. or so.
Another nice aspect of the day is that the Cubs opned up the bleachers for fans to go up and take a look. As far as I'm concerned, they did a great job and I'm looking forward to going back for the Detroit series.
Just wondering about the thoughts of others who attended?
