I've had enough of the Cubs
I no longer enjoy watching this team. Ever since last years sweep, I find myself caring less and less about this team. Last year's pathetic disaster moves their remarkable recent playoff record to 0-9.
Now they not only lose, but they also lost for some amount of time their two best players in the process. The great left-handed hitter that was so desperately needed is sitting out and collecting millions in the process, it seems to me he's the same Milton Bradley he's always been.
This team has no "ace" Their closer has a bum knee, and their best hitter may go on the DL with a strained calf muscle.
It is very obvious to me that the Cardinals are the best team in the division. They are far better than the Cubs in every position except third base and left field.
This team's manager makes decisions based on anger and the fact that the person "pitches" using his left arm.
St. Louis could have the left side of the infield consisting of Neifi Perez and Enrique Wilson, and a bullpen with 2008 Bob Howry and Roberto Novoa and they would still be a good team.
No longer do I find joy in watching this team. I get extremely bitter and angry when they lose and I really don't care when they win because I just know I will see another 3 and out come October.
I wish nothing but the best for all who read and post on this site, and I thank Al for keeping up such a great site.

Geovany Soto expectations
Hey everyone,
I'm curious. How does everyone feel about going into the season with a rookie catcher? Is this a wise decision? Was his breakout year in triple A a fluke, or was that a sign of things to come? I'd like to hear your opinions. Please share them.
On a side note, a saw a 2 minute trailer for Batman Dark Knight, it looks awesome!!

Better Chances: Win the Division or Win the Wild Card
I'm curious on what everybody thinks is more realistic at this point in the season. I realize it is only half way through the season, but it would be fun to hear everyone's opinion on this.
Currently, as everyone knows the Cubs are 39-40, 7.5 games behind the Brewers who are 47-33.
Currently, the wild card standings are as followed:
Arizona: 46-35
L.A. Dodgers: 45-35 (.5 games back)
Atlanta: 42-38 (3.5 games back)
Philadelphia: 41-40 (5 games back)
Cubs: 39-40 (6 games back)
What does everyone think? 7.5 games behind 1 team, or 6 games back with 3 teams ahead of you.

What about Jack Wilson?
Does anybody think that Hendry could pull a trade to get Jack Wilson from the Pirates. He would significantly upgrade the defense at shortstop, and he would be a great number 2 hitter. Then you could move Cedeno over to second base, where he is probably better suited for anyways. That would still leave the center field/leadoff hitter question. Do you still want Hendry to trade Pierre come July 31st. He is really starting to heat up. Maybe resign Pierre, because Pie doesn't seem to be ready at this time. Pierre and Jack Wilson would be pretty good at the top of the order.

Derrek Lee's Return
Is it just me, or does anyone else think that D Lee is rushing his return. I personally would rather see him slowly recover and make sure that his wrist is 100 percent healthy. This season is just about over and I don't want to see D Lee hurt that wrist to a point where it would affect him even for the 2007 season. As much as I want to see him in Cubbie Blue, it just isn't best for the team to rush back from his injury.

Best Cubs Moment
Hi everybody. New user here. I wanted to see what everybody's favorite Cubs moment has been. My favorite was being at Wrigley on June 19, 2004. The Cubs were down by one in the bottom of the ninth. Chad Bradford came in, Hollandsworth and Walker each hit singles off of him. The Michael Barrett came up and hit a double down the right field line to beat the A's. That was the best moment of my Cubs life. On a side note, it was a shame not getting Furcal, but Cedeno has been a fantastic shortstop. It is Murton that personally, I am more worried about. However, I sure would rather have Murton in left field than Freddie Bynum.
Go Cubs Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
