Battle Red Blog All pro OLBs and corners, and when they were drafted

Today, for lack of something better to do, I decided to look at All-Pros at the two positions most people seem to agree we'll address in the first round - pass rushing OLB and corner - and when they were drafted. I had my suspicions going in (and they were confirmed!), but the results were still surprising. I looked at both first and second team All-Pros all the way back to 2005. For OLBs, I discounted guys like Lance Briggs and our very own Brian Cushing, who did not play in a 3-4. That naturally led to more corners. Anyway, here's what I found.

Battle Red Blog Why we don't want Jon Gruden as a head coach

I think I just heard him call Aaron Kampan one of the best Packer defensive players.  That is on par with the Dunta fellating we heard on Sunday, as Kampan has pretty much disappeared as a 3-4 OLB.

But at least this MNF game makes me feel a little better, if only because it shows us all two teams that commit more stupid, drive-killing penalties than the Texans.  I need five more words.

Battle Red Blog tony gonzalez to the falcons - draft implications?

with perennial pro-bowler gonzalez - far and away the most talented offensive player for the chiefs - traded away to atlanta - traded away, do you think that this changes anyone's drafting strategy and maybe our trade prospects?  atlanta's GM said that this trade meant that they were going to draft a defensive player in the first round.  i don't know their needs but does this raise the possibility of trading with the falcons if they see a defensive player at 15 that they don't think will be there at 26?  and do we think that any player we want would still be on the board at 26?

as for the chiefs, i think every mock draft i've seen has shown them taking a defensive player, usually a linebacker to anchor the new 3-4 they're trying to install.  does this trade change anything?  the chiefs have the #4 pick, and might scott pioli look to add one of the first round receivers for matt cassel to throw to?  that could only help the texans, but how likely do you think this is?  this is the first year i have paid close attention to the NFL before the draft so i know next to nothing about this whole process - what do you guys think?
