Is it wrong to be happy this guy had Tommy John surgery? Of course I feel bad for him, but happy for our Cubs won't have any temptation to bring him back up this year.

It's too bad we traded away David Aardsma for this guy.

Hopefully this isn't old news. I didn't know about it until minutes ago.

We are all wrong. These last couple days have felt really good and I think it's time that we all come forward, confess our Cubs sins, and move on with the rest of the season.

Allow me to start. I was dead wrong about Kevin Gregg. Two weeks ago I was calling for Gregg to be a setup man for Guzman. I couldn't be happier to be wrong. Sorta like how Al said last year Edmonds was D.O.N.E. or how Clutche and I were called out earlier this year for our Hoff support on April Fools.

This isn't intended to be a forum for "I told you so," rather just a place for you to admit your wrong doings and be forgiven.

Therefore I challenge you. What have you been wrong about?

CNNSI.com's Best/Worst MLB Owners

I found this article to be extremely interesting. Not only to see the raw numbers of franchise purchase price vs. current value, but how that translates to wins & losses.

Moreover, I think it's even more interesting to look at the NFL teams. Those owners are making money hand over fist.

Anyway I thought this would lead to some good discussion amongst the BCB community. Hope you enjoy.

Top 5 MLB Owners: (4 out of 5 teams are in the AL)
5: Stuart Sternberg (Tampa Bay)
4: Steinbrenner Family (New York)
3: William DeWitt (St. Louis)
2: Arturo Moreno (Los Angeles of Anaheim)
1: John Henry/Tom Werner/Larry Lucchino (Boston)

Bottom 5:
5: Ted Lerner (Washington)
4: Jeffrey Loria (Florida)
3: David Glass (Kansas City)
2: Tom Hicks (Texas)
1: Peter Angelos (Baltimore)

(I hope I did the link correctly)

Has anyone ever ran this 5k? Now that I'm living in Chicago, I'm thinking about doing it. I figure it's for a good cause and involves the Cubbies.

I was wondering where the race concludes. Do you run through the stadium? Do you run on the field?

Thanks for your help.

America is a forgiving country, but I think a lot of people were waiting for a good reason to dislike A-Rod. I don't think he ever fully recovers from this.

I think it's funny he's trying to spin that his big contract in Texas caused him to use. That doesn't work for me, does it for you?

I hope I did that link right. Apparently Rogers' (of the Trib) says that when Michael Young was available, the Cubs never even discussed going after him because they are so committed to Theriot. At least that's the way I read it.

I don't exactly believe it, but I thought others might find it interesting. Or at least amusing.

Sorry ledge jumpers, you are not welcomed here. Tonight was a terrible game for our Cubs, but what is bitching and moaning going to do? Nothing. Dempster was the right call to pitch game one and even though hindsight is 20/20, I don't fault Lou or anyone else for the decision.

I can't wait for the voice of reason (Al) to come here and put into perspective tonights game.

words words words words freakin words. I'm frustated too, but I can't stand people getting on here complaining the whole night.

I for one cannot more pleased with this announcement.

It will go, Dempster, Z, Harden, Lilly (if needed).

I hate to say I told you so (okay no I don't haha), but I have been saying this should be the way it goes since Dempster was announced as the Game 1 starter.

I think this does a lot of good things. Dempster (our best pitcher this year) gets to throw at home.

Z gets the teams confidence of the team and doesn't have to deal with the mind game opposing fans will throw at him.

Harden (to me) had to go in one of the first three games. For me, 5 game series are far too short to wait around for game four to throw him. Think of it this way, if the unthinkable happened and the Cubs were swept, how would you feel if Rich never got a chance to pitch in the playoffs?!

This is no way a diss to Lilly, but I think he is clearly not on the same level as the aforementioned Big Three.

One more note, I still think Z and Harden still could be flipped depending on if one game is a night game and the other is not.

What are your thoughts? I know Al in particular seemed to think Lilly should go in Game 2. After all this is a blog and I'm always interested in the opinions of others. Until then, lets beat some Brewers BABY!

Okay so it's only one sentence of the whole article, but it's still pretty cool. The article does a good job recreating the atmosphere around Miller last night. From my count it looks like we reached a grand total of 3,295 post. Impressive. Congrats to Al for creating such a great site and everyone who posted last night.
