Bucs Dugout My Thoughts on Tabata

So you're 23 years old. You grow up idolizing Roberto Clemente and the Pittsburgh Pirates. And after so much hard work and time, here you are playing the very same position for the very same team. A dream come true. And not only that, you are given a multi-million dollar contract to do so. This kind of money doesn't grow on trees. And you are so proud and full of emotionover this. This is all fairy tale stuff right? But what comes along with all of this? Espescially for such a young man. .... PRESSURE. Pressure to perform well and earn all of that money. Pressure to make all of us die-hard Pirate fans, as he once was, happy. Pressure to keep your job when you just witnessed what Starling Marte is capable of in spring training. And you know he'll be in the bigs soon. And so it seems to me, that maybe all that Jose needs is for someone to sit him down and say look you're our right fielder and we want you to be our right fielder for a very long time. Just relax and go out there and do what you've always done. Maybe all he needs is a vote of confidence, and a "Go Get 'Em Kid". Who knows? Maybe I'm way off base here. But I was 23 once. And something tells me I'd definately be pressing if I were in his shoes.

Bucs Dugout What's to become of Neil Walker?

With the trade taking place for Iwamura. It certainly seems that barring any injury Andy Laroche will hold down 3rd at least until Pedro's arrival to Pittsburgh. Also, Pedro is going to have to get all the playing time at 3rd in Indy to prove he can be adequate at 3rd in the majors (speaking in terms of his defense of course). So where does this leave Neil Walker. I know his numbers haven't been impressive enough for him to supplant Andy at 3rd for the time being. Or, do you think he still has a shot at doing so. Or would he have any value as a bench player. Seems the future is pretty uncertain for Neil at this point. Any thoughts?
