Does anyone know big ben's status for tonights game? I know he didnt participate in practice the majority of the week and all signs still pointed to him starting. However, I read it somewhere that he will "try to play but not certain" Sounds iffy to me. Thoughts? And what type of game do you think he will have? 200 yards 2 td and 1 int? Please let me know if you think he will start and play well tonight vs jax

I really love the deal with corey maggette.I think he will come right in and make a huge impact on offense. I know that everyone says hes hurt all the time but cant we give the guy a shot? I mean we traded Speedy Claxton and Dale Davis for this Injury prone PG named Baron Davis who stepped his game up in the right scenario.

Lets have faith and give Maggette a fair shot and not jump on the guy before he even joins the team.

The Perfect Next PG

Why hasnt anyone brought up the name Ray Felton? To me he is the perfect PG for the warriors at the moment. He is a pass first type which would work well with all of our scorers, and with the bobcats picking up DJ Augustin from Texas in the draft, it seems like they could part with him. I know hes known to be an injury risk but so was baron davis. Obviously hes not the talent of BD but still I think hes a better option than anyone else mentioned so far like Kirk Heinrich or Crittenton. We need to focus on bringing in someone for this guard position and forget the option of monta as our PG. I love monta but thats just not his game.

Better fit-Brand or Josh Smith?

Im a little curious why we have made a MAX offer to Elton Brand but not one to Josh Smith? I really dont get it. I understand they are different types of players but Id say its a lot less risky to extend an offer to Smith who is much younger. Not to mention hes an athletic freak and seems to fit the warriors mold a la J Rich and doesnt have an injury history of Brand or Arenas who we offered max deals to both.

WHO DO YOU GUYS THINK IS A BETTER FIT FOR THE WARRIORS - ELTON BRAND OR JOSH SMITH?

and can someone please explain to me why we havent thrown out an offer to Josh Smith yet?

the SAVE BARON DAVIS thread

With all of these crazy pistons rumors out there I wanted to create something dedicated to the man who brought basketball back to life in the bay area. And his name is Baron Davis.

It makes me so angry to hear people talking about how they are ok with us getting rid of baron. I understand that his financial situation is a little tricky and that we are trying to get someone for him before he becomes a free agent and we get nothing. BUT SHOW THE MAN SOME RESPECT.

All of you out there who love the warriors as much as I do should not want to get rid of baron after all hes done for us. Re read that statement. All of you out there who love the warriors as much as I do should not want to get rid of baron after all hes done for us. Remember all those years where we were the laughing stock of the NBA, when we never made the playoffs nor thought about winning 50 games, when we never were shown on sportscenter?

Forget the money, forget the draft, forget the opt out bs. BARON is a class act and should be treated the same by us bay area warriors fans, and that is by showing support for Baron and not getting behind the idea of getting rid of him. SAVE BARON DAVIS.. plus I dont get why we cant just trade for Sheed alone!

Another Sleeper that would fit our needs NOW

With such a great response to my last posting, I have done even more research and found one final dimond in the rough that could be a perfect sleeper pick for the dubs 2nd round choice (possibly better than joey dorsey)

With their 2nd round selection, the golden state warriors SHOULD select...

DeVon Hardin- C- California

From www.nbadraft.net..

"NBA Comparison: Darryl Dawkins

Strengths: Long and athletic bigman with great strength ... Has an NBA body, really trimmed down from a year ago and is moving much quicker... Very quick feet and explosive legs ... Runs the floor well ... Very aggressive under the basket ... With his long arms, plays big for his size ... Intimidating on the defensive end, good timing on shot blocks ... Loves to dunk the ball over guys ... Outstanding student with a 4.0 GPA in high school ... "

Nothing gets me more pumped than the idea of a bruser 6-11 C/PF who is already from the Bay. Throw a dubs jersey on him and lets get the season started

A Sleeper Player who fits our needs NOW

I think that the perfect fit for the warriors in this years draft is none other than Big Joey Dorsey from Memphis. For all you who didnt see memphis play in the ncaa tourney, his bio from www.nbadraft.net is below... he can come in right away and do nothing but clog the middle on D and grab boards all day long while Boom, Monta et all score all the points. Im not saying we draft him in round one, but maybe we use our 1st pick in a trade and 2nd pick to grab dorsey. I see him like a milsap type player. What do you all think? We need someone right now to contribute not some project.

"NBA Comparison: Bo Outlaw/Ben Wallace

Strengths: A physical specimen type of interior force ... Very aggressive, strong and explosive ... Does all the dirty work, cleaning the boards and defending ... Simply overpowers a lot of players on the college level with brute strength and athleticism ... A tremendous rebounder, averaging more rebounds than points per game (9.6 rpg as a junior), and really hits the offensive glass hard where he averages nearly as many offensive rebounds as on the defensive end ... Runs the floor well and plays at a high intensity level ... An improving shot blocker (2.2 bpg) who also alters opponents shots ... His great length and leaping ability make him a load for opponents to contend with on both ends of the floor ... Has shown some improvement in his skill level, though he'll likely never be much of an offensive player ... Capable of some rim rattling dunks and attacks the rim with ferocity ... "

Can someone please explain why the Niners wont go after Jason Taylor... Its said that the dolphins would ask for a 3rd round pick or so for him. We need someone to create havoc inside especially with BY gone and any pick besides a first rounder seems worth it for a former NFL defensive player of the year.

Just to prove my point even more, who would you rather have in a niners uni- Reggie Smith (our 3rd round choice from oklahoma) or Jason Taylor?

I know Taylor is on the older side but it doesnt mean he couldnt help out for a few years at least...

This just in...

"Jason Taylor and the Dolphins have "decided to part ways" this offseason. Both sides have agreed a trade is for the best, and Taylor has already left the Miami area to prepare for Dancing with the Stars. There were rumors about Green Bay's interest Saturday, although that has proven premature. Miami can probably pick up a couple of solid draft picks for Taylor, 33."

Isnt this exactly what the niners need?

Artest to warriors trade

This just seen on rotoworld.com

"Ron Artest might not be with the Kings after the February 21st trade deadline passes, as Kings president Geoff Petrie admitted on Wednesday that the team is listening to all offers for the talented, troublesome forward.

"They say 'Where there's sparks, there's fire?'," Petrie said. "Well we're still at the stage where you're rubbing two sticks together." The Kings have reportedly discussed a trade with the Nuggets, Knicks and Heat, but nothing has progressed beyond inquiries. Artest is good enough that he'll maintain fantasy value no matter where he lands. "

The warriors should do everything they can to land artest. We need a defensive stopper like him. What do you guys think we would need to give up to get him?

And should the warriors be on the phone trying to land artest?

Remember a few years ago when there were huge rumors about Artest to the warriors...
