In Lou We Trust Once the Devils are eliminated from the playoffs...

This is a question I pose to all my fellow Devils fans out there.

When us die-hards watch our teams lose in the fashion the Devils did this year, some of us tend to examine and reexamine our love for this team.  My father, a born New York sports team fan (he "followed" the Mets, Rangers, and Rutgers), now finds himself rooting for the Phillies and Flyers, as we live in South Jersey.  He asks me who I'm rooting for in the Flyers/Candiens series, I am like, "Are you serious?"  "How can I root for the enemy?"

He goes on to give me his reasons, like, "Won't you feel better if you lost to the Champs?"  Some of your opinions may differ from mine, but my answer is an emphatic, NO!   That will just add to the torment that us fans in the Southern Jersey parts get from confident, cocky Flyers fans.  And to an extent, rightfully so, their team has outperformed ours for most of calendar year 2010.  But in no way, can I see myself rooting for Philadelphia.

I applaud their effort, begrudgingly.  But I loathe them.

I, by the way, am rooting for Montreal over Chicago in the finals.

Give me some input
