Orlando Pinstriped Post Trade Suggestion That Makes Sense...

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=4llbgfx

Basically with Picks and all this would be the offer.

Memphis GET - J. Rich, S. Jackson Brandon Bass D. Diop The draft rights of Fran Vasquez, S. Livingston and a round 1 pick from Orlando. Lastly. We would use 4.8 and 1M trade exemption to match salaries.

Bobcats GET- C. Duhon, OJ Mayo, E. Clark, T. Allen, D. Orton, D. Arthur. Round 1 pick from Grizzlies and two round 2 picks from Orlando.

Orlando GET- Z. Randolph, G. Wallace, H. Thabeet, G. Vasquez.

Memphis. May get the most back honestly.. Short and longterm. Short term. They have J-Rich and S. Jackson to hold down the fort while Gay is out. They add a young banger in Brandon Bass and a solid PG in Livingston. Plus they get a round 1 pick. Additionally they have Diop for one more season.

Charlotte- They dump the contracts of Wallace, Diop and Stephen Jackson. They gain 3 total picks. Two round 2's and a round 1. They also gain young talent in. OJ Mayo, E. Clark, D. Orton, D. Arthur. They get a much needed upgrade at PG with Chris Duhon. Plus they get a solid guard in Tony Allen. This season they would be much worse. However with young talent, picks and much needed cap space this is a great move.

Orlando-  Gets Z-BO and G. Wallace would make Orlando the team to beat.

G. Vasquez was a guy Orlando was high on in the draft and you know Otis always likes to get some kind of young talent " Steal in any trade" and much needed depth in size with H. Thabeet to play 10mins behind Dwight.

Magic after this trade.

PG. Nelson, Arenas, Vasquez
SG. G. Wallace, JJ. Redic
SF. Turkoglu, Q. Rich
PF. Z. Randolph, R. Anderson, M. Allen
C. Howard, H. Thabeet

Orlando can truly complete this team by picking up a big off waivers... That would be and excellent 7-8 man rotation and solid 13 man roster. Hand's down best team in the East.

Orlando Pinstriped Post Since Rip Hamilton wants out of Detroit....

I heard Rip Hamilton wants out of Detroit! He's unhappy with his reduced role. But I bet he wouldn't mind playing off the bench for a contender team like Orlando.. Plus we wouldn't have to search for a big man. Chris Wilcox can play back up to Dwight.

Trade JJ Redick and Duhon, Q & Allen, for Rip Hamilton & Chris Wilcox http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=28a6463

Nelson/Arenas/Williams

J.Richardson/Hamilton

Turkoglu/J.Rich/Clark

 Bass/Anderson

 Howard/Wilcox/Orton

We lose depth in the backcourt but we'd have a great rotation. And the 2nd unit would kill. Arenas and Hamilton in the backcourt scoring on the other teams 2nd unit, is a blow out with just them.

Orlando Pinstriped Post J-Will is comin back to play for Orlando

According to reporter John Denton

The Orlando Magic have their third point guard – and it is a very familiar face.

Veteran guard Jason Williams and the Magic reached an agreement on a deal that will return him to Orlando for a second season, according to NBA sources close to the negotiations.

The Magic signed Chris Duhon in July to serve as starter Jameer Nelson’s backup next season, but Orlando never wavered in its interest in having Williams back on the roster.

Williams, who was believed to have signed a two-year contract, has maintained since early last season that this Magic squad has more overall talent than the Miami Heat team that he was a part of that won the 2006 NBA title. A year-round resident of Orlando, Williams stressed all along that the Magic were his first choice to play for.

Orlando Pinstriped Post Otis Smith Giving The Green Light By Owner To Make Team Better.

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/spo...tis-smith.html

Two weeks from the NBA draft seemed as good a time as any to check in with Magic General Manager Otis Smith for an update on his thoughts about the Orlando Magic’s offseason.

Despite speculation that the Magic are looking for a power forward, it really seems from this and other conversations that Orlando wants to acquire a young point guard — something it tried to do last year.

Orlando will have four key free agents to manage. Matt Barnes said he will opt out of his contract. J.J. Redick will be a restricted free agent, which means the Magic can match another team’s offer to keep him. And their pair of 30-something back-up point guards, Jason Williams and Anthony Johnson, will be free agents on July 1.

I asked Smith about those players, about the possibility of trading Vince Carter and what his plans are with the No. 29 overall draft pick.

Check out my Q&A for more.

Tania Ganguli: You’ve said you don’t like to react right away, has enough time passed now that you can kind of start looking more closely at what changes you’ll make?
Otis Smith: Sure. I don’t think the changes are any different than I would have had, had we won that title. We have a plan we work that plan. I still have two wings as free agents, two point guards as free agents.

TG: How much does playoff performance factor into your evaluations for how certain players worked?
OS: I use the entire season, not just one thing or another. So I think the moves that I made are fine. I don’t think the moves I made had anything to do with anything. We didn’t have as successful a postseason as you would have liked. We get better, come back.
