Trade Ramos?
Instead of trying to figure out how to move a number of successful players around the field, isn't it time to also consider what type of return the Twins could get by trading Ramos. The Twins are in a position to be buyers this year and the championship window is clearly wide open, right now. Although it's up for debate one of the most identifiable holes, with Joe Nathan's career threatening injury is at the back end of the bullpen.
Is there anyone availible to fill the hole in a trade? How about making Ramos a centerpiece in a deal for Joakim Soria?
I have no idea or belief that either team would be interested in doing it but the pieces of the trade seem to fit. The Royals though much improved have the luxury of having a top end closer on a team that won't likely be in a position to win for a year or two. They have no catcher other then a stop-gap vet, and none near the top of the pipeline. The Twins bullpen though looking competent so far would be greatly improved by having a top end closer. It allows you to bump back Rauch, Guerrier to a slots that fits their talent level more. Soria would also be a potential long-term solution should Nathan not make it back to his old self. Not to mention that Soria is also not a budget buster. Proposal after the jump.
