McCovey Chronicles Dodgers letting Padres win?

I know this is probably not true, but does anybody think that the Dodgers would try to lose intentionally to the Padres to ruin the Giants playoff hopes?  At this point the Dodgers are basically out of the playoff picture, and if they aren't going to make the playoffs, I am sure they don't want their rivals to make it either.  The Division is in our grasps and all of sudden the Padres have got out of their funk and have taken the first two games in the series with the Dodgers.  It is just a thought.  It has been a wild ride so far and I am looking forward to seeing how the season unfolds.  The next series coming up against the Padres is huge.  That four game series could end up being the deciding factor for the division.  I am looking forward to finally seeing some meaningful baseball in September and just hope the Giants can deliver a long awaited playoff appearance in SF.  This Dodger, Padre series has been a rare occasion for me as a Giants fan.  It has been the only time I have rooted for the Dodgers all year.  In a way it kinda hurts but sometimes you even need some help from your enemies.  So lets go Dodgers and Giants!

McCovey Chronicles Have we forgotten about Uribe?

Is it just me, or has Juan Uribe been totally forgotten about?  Last season he was one of our more productive hitters batting .289 with 16 HR in just 122 games.  These aren't the greatest  numbers, but they are pretty damn good.  Plus he was very solid defensively.  In my opinion he was the Giants most consistent hitters behind Pablo.  The Giants should bring him back for at least a back up role or start him over the washed up Renteria.  Uribe proved he could play last season and seemed to always play hard throughout the season despite having to move all over the infield.  Plus he seemed to be a great teammate in the clubhouse, always having a good time.  I don't know what kind of contract he may be seeking, but if the Giants can get him back for cheap they should pursue him.  He was an exciting player to watch all season. He went up to the plate hacking at the ball every at bat and made things happen. Giants need to give him another shot. I understand he isn't a huge bat like we need but he is a solid player that can help the Giants win. Hopefully the Giants can get a impact bat this offseason and give my boy Uribe another chance. GO GIANTS!!
