Earlier I posted some criticisms against Capers, following the 2 Favre fiascos and particularly the 3 man rush. Later in the season the 3 man rushing against Big Ben killed us during the final drive. Aside from the collapse against Tampa, all of our losses were the only games that had us paired against great QB's. Warner hit the bench early last week. This week he had his way. The D forced one punt? One sack and that was the fumble strip by Matthews. True we have a lot to build on, TT had a great draft, great move to get Matthews. We need a corner, an OT, and another pass rusher to move up. Maybe 2 OT's. Money has been saved, the team has been too frugal, time to bring another Woodson type find into town. Impact is usually only found in the 1st or 2nd round.

The record shows us, our defense against our best opponent QB's was the worst in the game. Comes down to no pressure. Big Ben had over 500 yards. Favre had his two games. And now this from an absolute statue. Immobile opponent QB's are not afraid of us. They have their way with us. We played pathetic defense every time we faced superbowl QB's. At least we never tried the 3 man rush, but if 4 is not getting results, and you aren't covering anyway with an extra back, get that extra blitzer and a few more shots on the QB.

Finley and Jennings will be superstars. Rodgers could be a superstar with protection. When the line was good Grant was good. We win by the D and lose by the D. We still need better D. Capers is the guy, I believe that. Where is the innovation and imagination to improve against good QB's.

I have an idea. After being schooled by Favre for like 95 minutes this year, with about 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and 3rd and 17, let's rush 3, cause Favre has proven he can't figure it out when we do. Wasn't this defense supposed to be the unpredictable, pressuring type that quarterbacks can't coexist with? When he was finally humiliated enough to pressure Favre, the next series, a 3 and out, Favre released a couple of quackers that could have been easily intercepted. It is just hard to fathom a scenario that allows the Favre legend to grow anymore than a defensive coordinator who just lets it happen. Our defense had nothing for Favre until being totally humiliated, and that is the fault of Capers.- The aforementioned 3 man rush was embarrassing and the results were predictable, as I moaned before the completion, which was followed up by a 50 yard td strike. Thompson is just stubborn, the O line will fix itself, cause he won't do anything about it, but the man power is there on the D. The coaching is lacking. Good thing we play so many terrible teams this year.  We may still make the playoffs. Where we will 3 man rush ourselves into oblivion.
