End the Reign of Losing

I know we all want to see a Warriors team that has good coaching, sound defense, and strong ownership. I also know that all Warriors fans are disgusted with the current lack of cohesiveness throughout the organization. I truly believe that the only way we, as fans, will see change is if the current ownership is removed. I live in Dallas so this is easy for me to say, however if the fans stop coming the ownership will eventually have to change.

Please stop going to Warriors games! The fans need to raise their voices and show the ownership that they need to sell the team to a sharp ownership group. However, as long as the fans keep being the best in the NBA and keep attending the games the Warriors will never be a great basketball organization. I live in Dallas and pay 200 dollars a year to scream at the TV, read online about horrible trades, and watch a team I love continue to be the laughingstock of the NBA. So let me plead to all of you on this Blog, please stop going to Warriors games. Vote with your wallet and drain Cohen's pockets.

I know we all love basketball and love the Warriors but the incompetant ownership group must be held accountable. They have been taking advantage of us as great fans for far too long. I am not a hug fan of Kawakami, however he is devastatingly accurate when it comes to the head of this group of owners. WARRIORS FANS UNITE! (pardon the marxist language)

Who do you want out? Playoffs

I watched most of the Maverick/ Hornets game tonight and began to feel better about the Warriors missing the playoffs. Seeing as I have to hear all about the Maverick's everyday and see Dirk jersey's everywhere, I also get crap from all my friends that the W's missed the playoffs, I would feel SO much better if the maverick's got knocked out in five.

The other team I really want to drop is the Lakers. If those two teams get knocked out of the playoffs I will be able to forget the Warriors downfall and this cloud hanging over my head will dissipate much more quickly. Is there any team that could get knocked out to lift you out of your depression? Or are you more hardcore then I and nothing can console you?

Warriors pick up Nelson's option

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3288053
Great move by the Warriors picking up his option now. It gives Nelson more comfort and also encourages him to play his bench more. Is this a great move by the W's front office or does it give Nellie too much slack to by even more of a mad scientist?

Hopefully this means more playing time for Brandan Wright and the bench as a whole.

Gossip: Kg, Baron and FA's 08

I would normally not post this in a diary but i thought this would promote discussion. Optionzero you are welcome to erase this if you like.

I was on the mercurynews message board and I found this http://forums.mercurynews.com/n/mb/message.asp?msg=5450&nav=messages&webtag=mn-warriors
This is written by the same guy who broke the Nelson news a day early last year.

He brings up three points worth discussion:

  1. The Warriors don't plan to extend Baron. Interesting and probably shrewd on the warriors part given Baron's injury history. Will this create chaos in the locker room though? an unhappy Baron is a scary thing
  2. The Warriors could trade Baron to BOston in a three way deal for Garnett. This seems self defeating, because the reason we would want Garnett is to pair him with Baron. Also I dont think that Garnett would want to come to a Baron-less warriors team.
  3. Mully is saving up for the 08 free agent class and his number one target is Gilbert.......
Also, check this out, which he posted a couple days back....http://forums.mercurynews.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=mn-warriors&msg=5446.1&ctx=0

Just for Fun: Basketball Fantasy

I know things are going slow on this site so........EVERYONE choose your team, city, owner and celebrity fans.

5 starters:
PG- BD - my distributer
Sg- D Wayde - Scorer slasher defender
SF- Marion- defense, doesnt take a lot of shots
PF- KG- boards, buckets, blocks
C-Duncan- winner even though I cant stand watching him

3 Bench:
Lebron- all around stud
Nash- gotta have a bcakup for BD
Amare- Stud

I think this team works because of the lack of ego's and the pass first mindset on most of these players. Unselfish = fun to watch and good chemistry

3 Celebrity Fans and why:
Jessica Alba- eye candy
Jack Nic- I dont know why I just want him sitting courtside
Megan Fox- eye candy

Your City(Oakland is not allowed):
Dallas... Why? Because I want to go to the games

Your Owner: Mark Cuban (with a sock in his mouth) and his wallet open.

Poll-Just for Fun: How old are you?

Someone (update: eddie925 sorry bro) wrote in another diary that most of the people who post in here are in high school so I was thinking it would be fun to know the age groups that actually visit this site. I think it is really interesting that many of us spend so much time on this site and have no idea who the people are we are talking to (one of the negatives of technologies growing influence). I am 21 and it came as a shock that so many of you would be younger than me. I just assumed many of you were older then me.......

Anyways I thought it would be interesting to know the general ages of the posters....So how old are you? ALSO POST YOUR AGE WITH YOUR NAME (not real name) AND WHERE YOUR FROM if you like (no addresses of course)

Stephen Jackson Suspended

I am watching ESPN news and the BREAKING NEWS section says he and Ron Artest are suspended 7 games each(seperate instances). Jackson supposedly for the strip club brawl about a year ago. Artest suspended for spouse abuse.

This seems fair enough I think considering his history. I will post a link and updated this as soon as a story appears. Rick Bucher is on ESPN right now and he says that it is going overboard and that both players pleaded guilty to get the case over with not because they were guilty of anything. Update here is the link from yahoo provided by Caught Backcourt http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=ApqRtYhHOUvUyhqU0PDFXsa8vLYF?slug=txnbasuspensions&prov=st&type=lgns

Good news for the Warriors on the free agent front?- Matt Barnes

So it is obvious that many of us are sad that we haven't made any moves since the JR trade. So I thought I would bring everyone a glimmer of hope, that we can resign Barnes.
It looks as if Barnes hasn't been getting the offers he has desired and many teams think he is a product of Nelson's system. Maybe we can get him back for cheaper then we thought.

http://www.sacbee.com/100/story/268925.html Is this enough of a move for you to be satisfied with? Can we just sign Barnes and you be happy? I for one wouldn't be too upset if he was our only FA signing because I think we can now get him at a reasonable price.

Rumor: Pietrus Sign and Trade

Was about to post this but dallaswarrior beat me to it. Just going to move it from the diaries to the main section.
-- FJ

===============================================
The majority of us wouldn't mind seeing MP in a different uniform. He often makes stupid mistakes and the like. However it seems that certain teams value him more then we do.

http://www.miamiherald.com/588/story/166777.html

(Scroll to the bottom for the part about MP) If the heat do indeed want to work a sign and trade with us who would you want back. I say Haslem as he would make us a much tougher team on the interior and solve our biggest problems rebounding and interior defense. There are also possibilities such as Jason Williams and James Posey.

Who do you want in a sign and trade?
===============================================

Here's the actual text from the article.

Happy Walters, the agent for Golden State restricted free agent Mickael Pietrus, said the Heat's Randy Pfund told him he plans to contact the Warriors about a potential sign-and-trade for the 6-6, multiskilled, 25-year-old small forward.
