McCovey Chronicles Brian Buscher

I see he hit his first MLB jack this week and getting a little time with the Twins.

How did we lose him again?  Was he a Rule 5?

Just saw his name in a boxscore and it took me back a ways.

McCovey Chronicles SI Fluffs Cain, Lincecum

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/tom_verducci/06/05/lincecum.workload/index.html?cnn=ye s

For those of you who haven't read it yet.  I like it when Verducci calls Tim the "IT guy".

McCovey Chronicles Why is Lincecum "inactive"?

This may have been explained before, but I see that on Fresno's official site, Timmah is listed as "inactive"...

Does anyone know what the deal is?  Does this mean he's getting the call?

Someone slipped this in a manila envelope under my door.  Does Sabean have a mailing address?

Mmm... smells like what they got for Beltran.  Or Damon.  Or Dye.

McCovey Chronicles J.T. and the Hidden Ball Trick

You may have seen this on Retrosheet lately...

http://retrosheet.org/hidden.htm

Did J.T. Snow really pull it off only once?  I thought that was almost a calling card of his.  There have to be more occurences... anyone remember specifics?

McCovey Chronicles Off-Topic: Guerneville/Russian River

I love baseball but I also love drinking beerz and floating on inner tubes.

I'll be joining some friends up near Guerneville for the Fourth this weekend and we have heard scintillating rumors of hot Russian River tubing action.

Have any fellow McChroniclers been up there?  Any idea where to rent tubes?

I live down here in L.A. (boo) so I need all the pointers I can get.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. If for some strange reason I meet Steve Sax up there, I promise to punch him in the lady-face.

McCovey Chronicles Our coming All-Star rep?

It's gotta be Schmidt at this point, right?

Does anybody else even get a look?  Bonds with the legacy vote?

McCovey Chronicles Dallimore no more

ESPN's Free Agent Tracker has Grand Slam Dallimore as having signed with the Brewers.

Did we already know this?  When did this go down?

McCovey Chronicles Tomko waive attempt

From today's Chron:

Tomko update: Brett Tomko said he was told by his agent the Rangers claimed him off waivers, but the Giants pulled him back when the teams could not agree on a trade.

Thus, Tomko will stay with the Giants, and he believes his bruised right foot has healed enough for him to start Saturday's game in Florida. He threw a bullpen session Wednesday and said, "As long as I can get out of bed tomorrow, I think I'm good to go."
