Moose or Pettite?</p> <p>Moose had the better year, and I think he's probably more capable of pulling off another good year than Pettite at this point. He seems like the Greg Maddux type who can probably keep you in games with 5-7 innings of work until he's 43. I worry that as Pettite continues to age he'll lose everything that made him effective earlier. He had a pretty solid first half of the year and seemed to drop off a bit in the last couple of months. I think this is probably an indication that he can't carry the load of a full season anymore.</p> <p>I only ask because it seems everyone that has an opinion on the matter picks Pettite. I understand he was a big part of the franchise for 10 years, but you can't just make these decisions based on loyalty or emotion.</p>
