I HATE INDIANA AND YOUR HOOSIER FANS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t5I9OvyHzU&feature=related
I'm sorry, but this guy just cracks me up. I heard about him on JMV I think a few days ago and found his videos on youtube. I don't think I've laughed so hard at someone in a long time. At first I really thought he was a UK fan, but now I get the feeling that he is either A.) and IU fan or B.) someone just looking for youtube hits. Either way, the guys ridiculously funny whether you think he is serious or not.
ENJOY THE HATE!
Reggie Resigns with Colts
But I thought Reggie and Pey Pey were a package deal????
Per Adam Schefter:
Reggie Wayne re-signing a three-year deal with Colts. Agreement reached.
Glad they kept one of our good WRs. Reggie will definetly help Luck adjust to the NFL. Glad they kept Reggie instead of Garcon. I'm curious to see what the details of the deal are, but I imagine they kept him fairly cheap. Reggie Reggie Reggie!!!!
How about something positive?
In light of all the negativity surrounding the Colts and this blog, I thought it would be nice to show something positive. Having done a number of out-reach events at Riley, I can tell you that if you think you are having a bad day, go talk to one of these kids. Their attitude and spirit is infectious, they just love it when someone waves to them or says "Hi". I can only imagine how much it made their day to see players, cheerleaders, and Blue. I'm glad I root for an organization that takes time to do things like this.
Powers to IR
Well, crap on a stick. At least we aren't gearing up for a playoff run. A silver lining I suppose. Now our secondary will really suck chrome off a trailer hitch. Hopefully Powers can come back strong next year.
I need more words so that this fanpost will work. Is this enough? Nope, now it is.

Renaming the MVP the Peyton Manning trophy
Reading this story got my mid-morning mind-gears turning. Lets say hypothetically that Peyton wins and MVP trophy or two in his stellar career, would it be out of the question for the NFL to rename the MVP trophy after him? This probably would not happen for some time after he is retired (or possibly dead) but I think it has a legitimate shot. We've go the Lombardi already, and in college we have the Heisman. Nobody calls the best play in college the MVP, they are a Heisman candidate. You don't win the Super Bowl trophy, it's the Lombardi trophy. I think in the distant future they could be refering to it as the Manning, or since there were three Mannings who played, they Peyton.
New positioning of the umpire
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/nfl/09/01/ref.positioning.ap/index.html?eref=sihp
I guess it's a start, but how do they come up with the last five minutes? I feel like the NFL is making a slow progression on dumping this rule. Although I would conjecture that the last five minutes would be the most dangerous for umps because teams are going to be hustling to come back if the score is close, which could lead to come collisions.
Peyton didn't deserve the MVP in 08 and 09?
Maybe someone already posted this, but in my blinding rage I could not find it. This article by Kerry Byrne made me so mad that I didn't even get past the first few paragraphs. I am of course talking about this quote.
"In the NFL, they should just rename it the Peyton Manning Memorial Award since the voters now hand him MVP honors each year merely as a mindless reflex, even on seasons when he clearly did not deserve it, as was the case in both 2008 and 2009."
I can't even dignify this jackass with an answer or rebuttal, but I"d like to hear what you all have to say about it. All I'm going to say is he led his team to a 14-0 start while playing without his 2nd WR and breaking in a rookie and a 2nd year player. in 08 he came back form bursa sac surgery and won 9 games in a row.
It's Official
Michael Irving is back on the pipe. As I was watching the NFL network pre-game show today, which in itself is a hideous chud of a program, Irving actually said with a straight face that the Charges are the best team in the AFC. I'm at a loss for words.....He sucks, NFL network sucks, THEY ALL SUCK! Seriously though, how could you even make an assuption like that. I can't believe these guys get paid for their opinions. Al Mariuchi said that the Colts defense is terrible on 3rd down. I don't have the stats handy, but I'm almost positive that this group is looking at the Colts stats from last year and forgetting this is 2009.
Chris Johnson upset he was not picked Offensive Rookie of the Year
"I really think the whole thing is bogus, I was the only rookie to make the Pro Bowl this year"
I can't believe a professional athlete would actually come out and say something like this. Although some may feel that they were shafted on an award, you'll never hear them come out in public and say it. When Peyton had to share an MVP award with a QB who wasn't even in the same stratosphere as him, he didn't bitch, because he is a professional.
Chris, your team was a playoff team last year without you, the Titans also have a great defense. The Titans would have won with or without you. You are a great talent, but don't second guess that Matt Ryan did more for his team, let alone as a rookie, than you could have possibly imagined. Be a professional and shut your mouth.
2006 Colts
Last night I watched for the first time the NFL network episode of America's Game about our 2006 Colts. I always said that if we just win one super bowl in my life I would be satisfied. Of course this is not the case now, but watching that show just made me realize how special that season was. Our utterly terrible defense flops all season and then they make an unprobably switch to dominate. Blah Blah you all know the story, but it made me re-focus on the fact that we are unlike so many other cities and fans who have never won the big one. If there is such a thing as a football miracle, our playoff run that season was pretty damn close.
On a side note, if any of you get to watch it, there is a nice little clip of Peyton absolutely going off on Jeff Saturday during the Rams game on the side line. He was dropping F-bombs like they were hot rocks. Then later on he's cooled off sitting on the side line talking to Clark and Stokes and goes "Oh man, i'm mic'd up tonight too....it was better than Desperate Housewives, I'll tell you that."
