Lendale White needs to come to Tampa
25 year old Lendale White got released Friday. He's is 25 years old and he played well before Chris Johnson became a Titan, and plus he to share his carries. Hopefully the Bucs will sign him, and won't make a statement like this is a "youth movement" Caddy won't get any younger and neither will Ward. Lendale can be a three down back. And is capable of being a 1000 yard rusher. In the future we could have Lendale as a power guy, kind've like a Michael Turner, and a scat back (Kareem Huggins) like Darren Sproles. Is there any downside to picking up Lendale White? Plus he is healthy at 220 pounds. This is his best condition since he was at USC.
So what do you think?
Predictions for 2010-2011 season
Now we all know that DT's don't get much publicity and rarely perform in their first few years. Though receivers do make big splashes, for example Eddie Royal, Percy Harvin etc.
What do you expect the Brian Price McCoy tandem to be better or Mike Williams and Benn to be better?
What do you think?
Will the Bucs draft show results?
Explain your answers in the comments.
Share your opinion in the poll.
Needs for 2011
After a successful 2010 draft where the Bucs got much needed help at the DT and WR position. The Bucs still have a lot of room for improvement. They also have to resign quality players by the name of LT Donald Penn and MLB Barret Ruud. The Bucs failed to draft an offensive linemen in this drafting feeling "they didn't need to". Another position I feel thy didn't fully adress was DE, Everson Griffen in the fifth round? Crazy. You have three 7th round picks!!!
Entering the 2011 season the Bucs MUST address...
1. DE
2. O-LINE
3. Running back
4. Safety
5. CB
6. WR
Next year has a fairly strong DE and RB draft, if the Bucs could pull the trigger on a DE with a non-stop motor, they could have a scary d-line. With Aquib Talib with all-pro potential and McCoy and Price. That is a defense to be feareed of.
Far fetched mock improved
The Bucs went 3-13 last year and they have plenty of holes to fill. The holes to fill go in this order. DT, WR, DE, CB, OL, S. The Buccaneer wish list of mine will cover almost every one of this teams "must have's".

1) Suh/ Gerald McCoy
http://espn.go.com/blog/sportscenter/post/_/id/43405/the-sport-science-of-ndamukong-suh
It's pretty much a lock that the Bucs are getting one of the "BIG TWO". Both DT's dominated in college, but Suh and McCoy are very different players. Suh was so powerful that he didn't even use any moves. He tossed the big 12 offensive linemen around like they were rag dolls. McCoy used his hands, speed and quickness to evade offensive linemen. If Suh and McCoy are both there then it’s your choice.

3) Corey Wooton (injured three games)
The Bucs are getting a fantastic run stopping DE in the third round. Wooton will rotate with Stylez. On run downs Wooton will be in and on passing Stylez will be in. The selection of Corey Wooton makes the Bucs a very versatile DL.

Undrafted
Da'mon Cromartie-Smith
The 23 year old safety is listed at 6'2, 210 pounds. Has the height to be successful in coverage with speed to match. Had a 4.58 pro day time with a low of 4.49. Had 106 tackles, and 4 TFL as a senior. Going to need some good coaching at the next level but his size, and talent give him the chance to have success as a safety in coverage. His production shows he is at least a decent tackler. Stats

Would you rather...
The Bucs went 3-13 last year and they have plenty of holes to fill. The holes to fill go in this order. DT, WR, DE, CB,OL, S. The Buccaneer wish list of mine will cover almost every one of this teams "must have's". Their will be two wish lists in this wish list. Their will be a poll on the bottom asking which draft you'd rather have.
Wish List one
1) SUHperman/ Gerald McCoy
http://espn.go.com/blog/sportscenter/post/_/id/43405/the-sport-science-of-ndamukong-suh
It's pretty much a lock that the Bucs are getting one of the "BIG TWO". Both DT's dominated in college, but Suh and McCoy are very different players. Suh was so powerful that he didn't even use any moves. He tossed the big 12 offensive linemen around like they were rag dolls. McCoy used his hands and quickness to evade offensive linemen.
2) Trade back
2) Jerry Hughes
Jerry Hughes is a fast guy that will get to the quarterback. If we trade away Barret Ruud he might be able to learn to play MLB.
2) Damian Williams
Damian Williams is a NFL ready WR and is a fantastic route runner he is the vertical threat the bucs need.
3)Lamar Houston
The bucs had the WORST DT's in the league last year, and taking Lamar Houston will keep Roy Miler, and Suh/ McCoy fresh.
3) Corey Wooton
The bucs are getting a fantastic run stopping DE in the third round. Wooton will rotate with Hughes. On run downs Wooton will be in and on passing Hughes will be in. The selection of Corey Wooton makes the Bucs a very versatile DL.
4)Kyle Calloway
Kyle Calloway is a good OL and could be competing for the starting right tackle job. Trueblood really needs to get himself together because if he doesn't the Bucs could easily throw in Calloway.
5)Mike Williams
Mike Williams is a first or second round talent player in the 5th round, how can you pass on a guy like him?
6)Best Saftey availible
The Bucs have Sean Jones but they need a future replacement for Sabby.
7)Freddie Barnes
O.K there are questions about his speed, but the Bucs should take anyone who can catch the ball better than Michael Cantcatchapass. Just wondering if anyone saw him play at Bowling Green, do you see him play in the bowl game?
7) That one kicker
Why not?
7)Preston Parker
He's a little small but he played well at FSU when he was there. He might be able to make the team so why not?
Wish list 2
1)Trade back with 49ers
1)Dez Bryant
He has something to go out and prove. Besides the NCAA was out to get him. I don't think he's a bad guy anyway, look at his record. He's completely clean. If anyone can find a reason not to draft him, POST.
1)Joe Haden
We need someone to replace Ronde and he can do that, he might be able to replace Elbert Mack. We need him to play nickel. Is anyone tired of us getting burned long on 3rd and 12?
2)Trade back
2)Tyson Alluala
We need some DT's, besides Roy Miller who would even make a team? Tyson could easily improve our D-line, we need help now.
2)Corey Wooton
This might be a little bit of a reach, but I want to ensure that we get this run stopping freak.
3)Lamar Houston
I know I'm giving us a make over on the D-line, but this is maybe the deepest draft of the decade... supposedly.
4)Kyle Calloway
In case we do trade away Donald Penn, at least we have someone to groom, to play tackle some time in the near future.
5)Mike Williams
I'm actually starting to like this guy more and more every day. I don't think it would hurt to bring him in. He wouldn't have to start day one either.
6) BPA at Safety
We still need a long term plan at the Safety position, remember we are getting younger, and building though the draft.
7)Freddie Barnes
O.K there are questions about his speed, but the Bucs should take anyone who can catch the ball better than Michael Cantcatchapass. Just wondering if anyone saw him play at Bowling Green, do you see him play in the bowl game?
7)That one kicker.. that can kick
why not?
7)Preston Parker
He can catch a football, he's pretty fast and he could probably make the team.
So which draft do you like better?
Give me your input.
Explain why.

Eric Decker has very soft hands and catches everything thrown his way. He played in and NFL offense at Minnesota. He's another threat the Bucs could add into the offense.
6)Best Saftey availible
The Bucs have Sean Jones but they need a future replacement for Sabby.

Josh Freeman and his progression
Josh Freeman won't get any better unless the bucs build around him. Here are some possible options.
- We trade our first round pick for both of the 49ers first round picks, take CJ Spiller with the 13th pick and we take Jason Pierre-Paul/Derrick Morgan/Dan Williams, with the 17th pick
- We trade our first round pick for both of the 49ers first round picks, take Dez Bryant with the 13th pick and we take Jason Pierre-Paul/Derrick Morgan/Dan Williams, with the 17th pick
- We take Dez Bryant at no. 3
- We take Suh/McCoy at no.3
- We trade our no.3 pick for Brandon Marshall
Please post an explanation, and recommend.
Just an idea... (improved)
The bucs allowed an average 14 points a game the last three games of the season. They finished the last three games of the season 2-1. What would the defense look like if we added a stud, run-stopping brick wall to slow down the defense? Then say we add a versatile pass rusher that has the ability to play DE and OLB. And could rattle a QB's skull every other play. Then adding a shutdown corner that will replace Ronde Barber after a few years, or even replace Albert Mack from day one. I didn't forget the fact that we scored an average of only 18 points the final three games of the season. Maybe with some Wr help could even jump-start our offense by adding a WR that has soft hands, and is a crisp route runner. How about a hometown defensive end that has the potential to someday take over Stylez position.
(Trade two 7th round picks for a late 5th)
Do any of these attributes sound familiar?
1a. SUHperman
Suh is a bull dozer who doesn't want a bull dozer on their team?
| Production | 1 | "2005: Medical redshirt (knee). 2006: (14/0) 19 tackles, 8 TFL, 3.5 sacks. 2007: (12/11) 34 tackles, 6 TFL, 1 sack. 2008: (13/13) 76 tackles, 19 TFL, 7.5 sacks, 2 INT (both returned for TD). 2009: (14/14) 85 tackles, 20.5 TFL, 12 sacks, 21 QB hurries, 10 PBU, 3 blocked kicks, 1 INT." |
| Height-Weight-Speed | 2 | Is one of the taller DT prospects in the 2010 class. Has adequate bulk for his frame and it is distributed well. Also displays excellent top-end speed for position. |
| Durability | 3 | "Suffered knee injury that required surgery in 2005, when he received a medical redshirt. Suffered another knee injury that limited him in the spring of 2007. Has remained durable since then, playing in 25 consecutive games the past two seasons (2007-08)." |
| Intangibles | 1 | Passionate about the game. No concerns regarding work ethic of off the field issues. Coaches rave about his football character. (Pronounced: En-Dom-Ah-Ken Soo) |
| Defensive Tackle specific Traits | ||
| Strength/Toughness | 1 | "Rare upper-body strength and above average lower body strength. Few prospects control the point of attack the way he does. Shows great initial pop. Routinely stands OL up with initial punch, and then tosses them aside once he has diagnosed the play. High-effort player with a great motor. Adequate size but is not a massive space-eater. Displays good lower-body strength and excellent upper-body power. " |
| Quickness(hands/feet) | 2 | Is light on his feet. Does not display elite first-step quicks but does show good overall agility. Impressive change-of-direction skills. Very light on his feet in space and shows excellent range versus the run. Quickness of hands is excellent. Explosive upper-body power and the ability to disengage from blocks as quickly as any DT in college football today. |
| Versus the Run | 1 | "Strong, disciplined and instinctive. At his best in gap-control scheme, where he can use power to stand the OL up, diagnose the play, and then disengage quickly to pursue. Must learn to protect his legs better when working down the line of scrimmage but he rarely gets knocked off his feet and his effort in pursuit is excellent. Only knock here is that he tends to play a bit too high at times and will need to show more consistency with leverage in the NFL. " |
| Pass Rush Skills | 2 | "Displays excellent straight-line power as a bull-rusher. Collapses the pocket regularly. Often makes an impact even when he doesn't get the sack or hurry, because he's disrupting the QB's pocket and passing windows. Shows good closing burst when he gets a line to the QB. However, he's not a classic 3-technique and won't be a great fit in that scheme. He lacks explosive penetrating skills and is more of a power-to-quickness rusher. " |

McCourtey is that guy who could fight for a position at nickel, and replace Ronde.

3a. Damian Williams/ Dexter McCluster
Dexter McCluster was a receiver before making the switch to running back. So if we take McCluster we know Freeman can count on him, on third and 4 when he's in trouble.

Carlton Mitchell is a big play making receiver, that is 6 foot 4. He is the big down feild threat that a young quarterback needs.

5a. George Selvie
After a promising sophmore year everything went down hill. Selvie was forced into a double team, and couldn't break free. Although he could have a big impact if the Bucs take him in the fourth round. He definitely has the size, power, strength, ability and experience to be a starter in several years.

5b. LeGarrette Blount
Blount is a mean, ferocious running back that isn't afraid of everything. He could be used as a third and short running back.

Glazer Haters
For all you "Glazer Haters" out there saying how we could've gotten Arron Kampman, Julius Peppers, Nate Burleson, Antrell Rolle... Do we really want to sign a 29 year old to a 6 year deal? Signing older DE's to big deals are a waste of money, who wants a player with a GIANT pay that's going to play for a year or two, and then we have to start all over again.
The Glazers are going to build through the draft. Right now that's the way to go, this was a bad free agency year, and next year is going to be the biggest. The Glazers made a good move this year, but next year they must make a splash in the free agency. GO BUCS!!!!
Buccaneer Wishlist
The Bucs have a ton of needs that can't all be filled in the 2010 NFL draft. That is why my Bucs Wishlist starts with trading back. (We only trade back if Suh isn't available, McCoy is a bust ready to happen) First we trade back with the Broncos because the Broncos are reported to have interest in Eric Berry.
Bucs recieve: Broncos 1st & 2nd round pick
Broncos receive: Bucs 1st round pick
Next the Bucs trade back again, but with the Chargers this time. The Chargers are in need of a running back and CJ Spiller won't fall to the 28th pick.
Bucs receive: Chargers 1st round pick Chargers third round pick
Chargers receive: Bucs first round pick
This leaves the Bucs with 12 picks. And with 12 real rookies, and 3 rookies from last year coming back from season ending injuries the Bucs will have to have a good draft. Fill out the rest of these picks yourself.
