With the first pick in the draft the St. Louis Rams select Sam Bradford of Oklahoma. The reasoning behind this pick is that they really need to start looking to the future at the QB position and though Suh and McCoy are game changers w/o a QB in todays NFL you really are not going anywhere.
Bradford would have been the top QB in last years draft and now he is the top QB in this draft.
Derek cox breakdown
So I decided to do a breakdown of the games that mr. cox played last year by taking a look at the box scores. This is what I found:
Game 1:W&M vs. NCST
H. Beck of NCST threw for 245 yds on 17 of 25 passing with 2 tds and 1 int
The int you may be curious to know came from DEREK COX. Who then promptly returned it 45 yds for a TD.
Game 2: vs. VMI
VMI is a running team had only 3 passes completed for about 20 yards.
Game 3: vs. Norfolk State
| D. Brown | 13/32 | 94yds | 0 tds |
3ints With one coming from D. Cox |
Game 4: vs. Villanova
C.Whitney was 20/27 for 187 yds and 3tds
Game 5: vs. NH
R. Toman 305 yds. 2 td 2 int none be cox
Game 6: vs Delaware
R. Schoenhoft 45 yds 0 td 1 int
Game 7: vs RI
D. Cassidy 225 yds 2 tds 3 int none from cox but 1 PD
Game 8: vs.Towson
S. Schaefer 186 yds 2 tds 2 ints and one was from our man D. Cox
Game 9: vs Northeastern
A. orio 247 yds 1 td 1 int and the 1 int? From our man D. cox that was returned 12 yds for a TD. Not to mention the 3 punt returns for 98 yds with the longest going for 89 and a TD
Game 10: vs.James Madison
R. Landers 212 yds and 3 tds
Game 11: vs Richmond
E. Ward 80 yds 1 int No Ints for Cox but he returned a punt 80 yds for a TD.
So what does this tell us about Cox? Was he worth a 2nd next year? Or was it just because of the competition level? It seems to me that the guy is a playmaker on defense and has the ability to be a game changer.
JAGS CLOSE TO SIGNING HOLT
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4079600
Lets just hope this is true. I would love to see holt in a jags uniform next year. Plus the added bonus of keeping him out of tennessee. Walker could learn from holt and we could really see a dynamic change in our offense. One more step towards the promised land. All in all this could be a great signing for the team and another notch in genes belt.
BCC MOCK DRAFT - With the eleventh selection in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select.......Michael Oher, OLT Mississippi
Perhaps a bit of a surprise here, but we decided to take someone who will be our franchise LT for years to come. I did consider taking Everette Brown here, but I couldn't resist upgrading our premium position on the line. We are cOnfident in our ability to fill our obvious need on the D-line in subsequent rounds. After Jason Peters gave up the most sacks out of all the LT's in the NFL last year we have little faith in him and will be moving forward with our LT of the future. We also considered Beanie wells and Knowshon Moreno due to the fact that Mr. Lynch is looking at either jail time or a suspension.

Preliminary results for Mark Sanchez Pro Day
According to CBS sports Mark Sanchez had a successful pro day. Looking pretty sharp and better than he did at the combine. The lions pulled him aside and him do some more throws afterwards. Seems Like this is even more good news for the Jags. If sanchez continues to prove that he has all the tools it will make selecting him even easier, and trading him even easier.

Tory Holt to sign with...
According to the bleacher report he is close to a deal that will have him wearing teal and black next season. Not sure how credible this is, but I hope so. I would be more than happy to see him here next year, as I belive he is a credible threat and would help our young guys a great deal. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/143792-jacksonville-jaguars-and-torry-holt-close-to-making-a-deal
