QB Danny Obrien chooses the Badgers
Looks like another transfer QB taking over at Wisconsin this year. Only this time he has two years to play. I live in Maryland and I've watched him play a lot of games. He is a solid passer but does throw into coverage a lot.
Stallworth Fastest ever on Raven SportGrass
The Baltimore Ravens have a soft real-and-fake grass mix at their training facility in Owings Mills, Md., called SportGrass. No player likes to be timed on SportGrass, preferring the faster track of a tartan track or artificial turf. But the Ravens have used the surface to time players for the 40-yard dash for several years, and it usually results in a time about two-tenths of a second slower than the time a player would run on a track or pure artificial turf.
When 29-year-old Donte' Stallworth worked out for the team early last week, he stepped foot on the SportGrass and ran a 4.40-second 40. It's the fastest time recorded on the turf by the club.
Vikings release Bobby Wade
Could be an oppurtunity if the Chiefs look into it. Aren't we always looking for wideouts?
The Minnesota Vikings have released veteran wide receiver Bobby Wade, the team's leading receiver the last two years, according to his agent, Jerome Stanley.
Ravens trying out 4 WRs
http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/articles/2009/07/20/news/breaking_news/91ravens.txt
OWINGS MILLS -- The Baltimore Ravens are trying out four wide receivers on Friday in the wake of veteran Derrick Mason's abrupt retirement announcement, including former Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers starter D.J. Hackett.
Hackett was initially scheduled to try out at the Ravens' minicamp this offseason, but declined the invitation to due to family issues as well as a Houston Texans visit. Following that tryout, which included Kelley Washington, Jerry Porter and Tab Perry, the Ravens wound up signing Washington.
Hackett's agent, Kevin Robinson, confirmed that Hackett is trying out. The other receivers' names weren't immediately available, but there aren't expected to be any big names coming in for the audition.
"D.J. is flying in Thursday and is going to have a Friday workout," Robinson said in a telephone interview. "The timing could be right this time. D.J. is a bigger receiver at 6-2, 210 pounds.
"He’s very athletic. Hee has excellent hands. He’s an excellent route runner and obviously he has playoff experience. He's a high-character person and would fit in well with their locker room."
Who are the other 3???

Curry or Stafford for Lions #1 overall
Catch it in the article. Appears Stafford will be the guy if he can settle a contract with them. But if not then Curry is the pick. This could be one of those "mildly surprising" picks such as when the Texans signed Demarrio Williams over Reggie Bush a couple years ago... Could REALLY help us if they dont get Stafford. I think it will be interesting what happens by the draft being that the Lions want to sign their guy before the draft starts...
The Lions are expected to give Condon and Stafford until Friday to make a decision and, if a deal isn't worked out at that point, the Lions are expected to make Curry their top draft choice.

The Lions already have come to terms on a deal with Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry, but the Lions are waiting to see if their No. 1 target -- Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford -- will agree to a contract prior the start of the draft at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Interesting Draft Trade Scenario
I noticed this post from some random person's comment on a yahoo story. Thought it was interesting.
"Kansas City will trade down with the Buffalo Bill a #3 for their #11 and second round pick. Buffalo needs a Left Tackle NOW. They will have a shot at Jason Smith or Eugene Brown or Andre Smith with a deal.
If that deal does not work then the Chiefs will deal Matt Cassell to Denver for both their first round picks and then take Sanchez or Stafford with their #3 pick. It is possible that Cleveland could be in on a 3 way trade with Denver and KC involving Brady Quinn to the Chiefs, Cassell to Denver, Orton to Cleveland, Denvers #12 to the Chiefs Denvers #18 to Cleveland "
The first option with Buffalo is nice and would be ideal. I dont see us giving up Cassell to Denver or moving down to 12 and getting Quinn (although i am a Quinn fan). Either way i dont know if Pioli would send Cassell to division rival Denver after he just got him for a little ole 2nd rounder. On a final note, how cocky would that be to trade a 2nd round pick for Cassell only to turn around and trade him to McDaniels and Denver for 2 first rounders...
Can we hope for the best for LJ
Many here probably arent fans of LJ, but if you set his injuries aside and give him enough carries each game to get some rythem going, i think he still is a good back and will be our #1 throughout the season. The past year or two he hasnt been himself, but to be honest I think he still has the level of play in him to perform as he did in years past. Here's to a good season rushing the football with the #27.
