Blazer's Edge THE SHAUNSSSS or schonss

Hey blazeredgers!. I'm calling out for some help. During the game tonight, I won't be able to listen to the radio because I'll be in night class at PSU. (4 hours class xP) So I am wondering if anyone is kind enough to hit me up with a podcast of the radio transmission of if not the entire game, then at least the third quarter and on.

This would be greatly appreciated and I am sure there are other's out there that won't be able to catch the game for various reasons.

Go blazers!

Use the ESPN trade machine to make the Blazers dream team.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

There are a couple of rules.

1) Must keep Brandon Roy
2) Go crazy

Post with how much you improve the blazers win total as your title and a link to the trade machine followed by comment if you like.

Highest PLUS win total post will be posted in the main FanShot.

Props for also keeping LMA.

Blazer's Edge Gameday Open Thread Chat Box Idea

This is to Dave, I don't know if he'll read this or not but I think that there should be a chatbox (maybe from cbox.ws) somewhere so people may chat in real time and not lag up the whole page. I don't think that the thread should be taken away though because people can go back on messages and comment on them.

Maybe on the mainpage only during the game, there could be a CBOX running and after the game, the CBOX will be taken off.

It's just an idea, I don't want to mess with the format or tradition of Blazer's Edge. Just thinking it might be a decent idea.

Blazer's Edge What former all-star will Portland trade for?

I stumbled onto this very intriguing trade when surfing the net. I think it is very possible that Blazers will pull off this deal, while others may think that it's ludicrous. Here is the link to the original blog article where you can see the comments of other Zer Fans. [Click Here]

In 12/29/08 Trail Blazer Courtside, Mike Barrett predicts a blockbuster trade before the trade deadline for a former all-star using Raef LaFrenz’s contract.

Using the list of all-stars from 2003-2008 we will start with 57 all-stars (including Brandon Roy). Let’s start the process of elimination and see what we have left.

Current All-Stars – 24 players
  • Barrett says a “former” all-star, so we eliminate the “current” 24 all-stars
  • Eastern: Ray Allen, Chaucey Billups, Chris Bosh, Richard Hamilton, Dwight Howard, LeBron James, Antawn Jamison, Joe Johnson, Jason Kidd, Paul Pierce, Dwayne Wade, Rasheed Wallace
  • Western: Carmello Anthony, Carlos Boozer, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Allen Iverson, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Chris Paul, Brandon Roy, Amare Stoudamire, David West, Yao Ming
30 and over club – 20 players
  • Mike Rice said in the past look for a 28 yrs or younger player. I’ll be generous and say no 30 and over.
  • Vince Carter, Sam Cassell, Steve Francis, Kevin Garnett, Manu Ginobli, Grant Hill, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Michael Jordan, Jamaal Magloire, Stephon Marbury, Shawn Marion, Kenyon Martin, Jamaal Mashburn, Brad Miller, Jermaine O’Neal, Shaquille O’Neal, Gary Payton, Peja Stojakovic, Antoine Walker, Ben Wallace.
The Big Three – 5 players
  • Pritchard will be looking to fill a position not occupied by the Roy, Aldridge or Oden. So we eliminate true SGs, PFs and C.
  • Pau Gasol, Elton Brand, Rashard Lewis, Mehmet Okur, Michael Redd
Playoff bound teams – 5 players
  • Playoff teams, especially conference rivals seem highly unlikely they would trade their star to Portland unless we traded a star.
  • Ron Artest, Josh Howard, Andrei Kirilenko, Tracy McGrady, Tony Parker
Team Culture and Position Preferences – 2 players
  • Pritchard is very big on any player fitting in with team culture. Nate wants for: PG – pass first, shoot second, defensive priority and SF – good offensive player and defensive player second.
  • Gilbert Arenas & Baron Davis
Who is left? – Caron Butler
  • Caron Butler, SF, 6’7”, 228 lbs., 6 yrs as a pro.
  • Former All-Star: Butler was a 2007 All-Star
  • 28 years or younger per Mike Rice – Butler is 28 – born 3/13/80
  • Team culture – Butler recognized by The Sporting News as one of the top “Good Guys” in sports in 2006 for his charitable endeavors.
  • Career Stats – 16.3 PPG, 6 RPG, 2.9 APG, 1.7 SPG, 0.3 BPG, 2.2 SPG, .443 FG%, .318 3P%, .852 FT%
  • From Hollinger, EPSN – Butler has emerged as one of the best mid-range shooters in basketball. He’s also money from the foul line.
  • Comparison: Scottie Pippen

    • Portland
      • Outgoing: Raef LaFrenz
      • Incoming: Caron Butler

Why Caron Butler?
  • Caron is a good fit for the Blazers. Former all-star; 3 years of playoff experience; well regarded for his community service and good teammate; and will provide Blazers with a legitimate 2nd or 3rd scorer.

Brew Hoop Ramon Sessions getting shafted [POLL]

Ramon sessions should play at least 25 mins a game. Someone should tell the Bucks' coach that he's completely out of his mind for not playing this kind of talent. Sessions only got 6 minutes in the last game. If this becomes a trend, I suggest one of two things: Either you fire the coach or trade the player to Portland. Sessions over Ridnour any day.

Oh btw, I'm a blazers fan and I have Sessions on my fantasy team. He's been doing amazing but boom, he just hit a wall due to the lack of playing time.

There needs to be a protest or some kind of..peaceful..demonstration.

Clips Nation Eric Gordon POLL

We all know what Eric Gordon can do. But how much will we see of him night in and night out?

I have Eric Gordon for my fantasy league so I am trying to figure out what he will contribute to this Clippers team. I know he's good but is he good enough to take over the starter spot for the rest of the season? or will he pop in and out through out the season?

Btw, I'm a blazers fan just looking for some insight. Thanks everyone.
