First off I gotta say that not being able to chat it up with you guys for the last month+ was killing me. I could read what you guys were saying but everytime I tryed to reply to something my computer would crash. . . . .it has been very frustrating for me. I've still got a hack locked on to me that is messing with my computer but at least I can reply to you guys somewhat before it closes down on me. With that said I gotta catch up with alot of you guys. OK my take on Staff infection is somewhat good but somewhat bad as well.He is making strides no doubt about it, but it is coming at one hell of a cost. I see him making alot of the same mistakes he was making on opening day. Today against the Packers was another instance of him not maturing as fast as we want him too.How many times can a rookie make the same mistake before one of our coaches shake the poop out of him???? Staff trusts his arm that's a great thing but he has to quit throwing the ball while not being planted and falling away from the line of scrimmage. He cost us the game in Seattle doing the same thing and against the rams he did it also. He has a cannon and he can make throws that NO QB in Detroit has ever made before, but even Favre learned to not throw the damn ball off balance and falling away from the line of scrimmage. We really need another rec that can be a game changer in the next year or 2, Johnson and Johnson just cant do it by themselves and Grew/Heller will help in time but Northcut has been a bust as far as I'm concerned. On the D-side of the ball we need 1 corner and in a most urgent way we need at least 1 stud on the end. Rev you keep on wanting a DT thats not the problem for our line it's the fact that our DT's are getting double teamed on almost every play and our ends can't get no pressure. If you look at every team that we have played no one is running up the gut on us that means to me that our DT's are getting the job done. We need another Porchette coming off the end, Averil was suppose to be that guy but he has been invisible when he even gets on the field,White can't stay healthy enough to be a factor so we gotta get at least 1 in the next offseason in my opinion. Now alot of you guys are already talking about the next draft and it seems to me that we are already setting our eyes on 3 players; LT, DT, and a certain safety.I could careless which one we get with the top pick cause we could use all 3 on D. Can we all agree that if we get as many starters that contribute this fast in the next draft that our front office is on the right track. If we take a O-tackle with our first pick does anyne think he will actually protect Staff's blind side right off the bat? I don't, look at what Cherilous did and almost every other tackle that comes out, they almost always need 1 full year to grow into their NFL bodies. If we take Berry (i know I'm jumping the gun) we would have one very scary backfield on the D-side of the ball but that's not our biggest problem is it. If we take Suh what does that get us? One more young DT that will get put into a rotation, so I don't think that's the pick either, It has to be another impact player reguardless of who it is, But for the record I'm hoping we take the top D-end who ever that may be after all the combines and hoopla is sorted out.I say keep what we have on the O-line for 1 more year put Rock Jansen where Sackus is let him be our alternate tackle and let's get this D-fence built first cause I don't see alot of people becoming free-agents this off-season and if they do they are all going to want to go play with 1 of 5 or 6 teams and none of those are our lions.Anyways sinc I'm ranting I just want to say I'm back and I missed all of you guys! Thank you all and let me hear what you all think . . . .like I have to ask.

First off FUCK YEAH, off the shnide, thank you for beating the skins Sunday since that team has owned us like a pimp owns a hooker. And I beleave I mentioned something about it prior to the game last week guys. I know some of you don't beleave in curses but I do. So now that Staff infection has gotten the gorilla off of our back with a win; and may I state that he didn't throw the "rookie" mistake int in that game. Now it's time to get a different gorilla off of our Lions backs, and I'm refering to going on the road and getting a victory. Now i know we are playing in Chicago and I'm sure the boys and gals (honeybear if you are reading this) are licking their chops thinking about the lions coming to town. After all the smack I was talking about how they don't have a real rec on their team a couple of candidates have emerged in Chi town. I beleave that the Bears are not going to take this game lightly being that it is a divisional game but we have played very good at Soldier field in the past and expect our boys to do the same this weekend. I am giving our lions a 50/50 chance of winning this weekend since I have seen improvement every week in Staff. Assuming that we have K Smooth out there this weekend I think we can run against them and as long as Staff doesn't take a step backwards this week on the road we can win this game. My prediction for this game is going to be Lions 27 Da Bears 24. Lions are 500 after this week and are going to be pumped up for the hurtin Steelers the following week. I know it's only 1 win but we are going to be in the playoff chase soon guys. On a side note, and this is where it gets interesting; alot of you fools want to trade away SIMMS? what ???? Now since you are in the market to start shopping Lions away for draft picks, try this one out, Culpepper to the Browns since he is a better QB than both of the boobs that they have there, what do you all think about that?

The curse breaking game?

It seems that all of the "analasists" are torn about this weeks game with the Redskins and our belovid stumble bums. I'm going to throw this out there and see where it goes. 50 years ago the greatest Lions QB put a curse on our franchise, that technically doesn't end until this year is over. Now I know most if not everyone of us knows of the curse, and If you are not up to speed let me remind everyone that Staff infection came from the same exact high-school in texas as Night train Lane. Now we as lions fans also know that the Redskins have some kind of dominance over us in the same time frame. So I call it a curse as well; I meen the BEST runningback the game has ever seen couldn't even beet the Redskins in the best statistical year the lions have ever had. Yes I'm refering to the Scotty Mitchell year.So If Staff infection is ging to break 1 curse for us why not just break all of the curses that go along with this franchise. If Staff can somehow find away to beet the Redskins this Sunday;although no one will get to see it; I will call the curse of Bobby Lane over and we can actually star to look towards the future. What do you guys all think about the curse? Is it over if we win this weekend or are we destinned to be the Buckaneers of the 70's for the remainder of WCF Sr.'s days as owner of the team. It's just so sad that we are in week 3 and already not going to get to see the lions until Thanksgiving day on TV. I am refering to home games ofcourse. Oh wait the Bears fans and Packers fans travel well so we are going to get to see 3 more games on TV this year. YEAH. Pope Sean Paul, I am sorry that I talked smack to you a few weeks ago after you did that radio interview on the Buffalo station. You are a more level headed guy than me and actually saw these lions for what they are, not what we want them to be.

Other than my sanity ofcourse. How is it tat a younger better looking running back like Ervin gets cut, and yet Colbert and Cason are still on the roster. have I missed something here? did either of these guys do anything so far this year and I just missed it. There are all kinds of free-agents out there that could bolster and probably start at the opposite side of the field from Buchanon; namely McCalister, and yet we keep picking up guys that I have never heard of before. If I streatch my imagination I guess I can figure out why Cason is still here, he's a veteran and can return kicks; not very good; but he can return. But why in the world is Colbert still on the roster? Sean and Gang is Cason doing something in practice that just doesn't transfer to the game? Can anyone figure out why these 2 are still in Hon. Blue and silver? With Casonthe only answer I can come up with is he must have onehell of a cap hit if we let him go cause other than that his azz would of been one of the first RB's cut if I was running the team. And isn't this refreshing a post that doesn't have anything to do with Staff or Culpizzle.

First off I gotta say. . . .About damn time! Finally we are going to get too see what we have on offence. In case you didn't read the front page we are now going to get to see what our team is going to look like (somewhat) now that Johnson and Johnson are back on the field. It would be nice if Northcut and Pettigrew were back as well but hey at least we are going to have someone out there who can spread the field. Now I am not going to sit here and tell you guys that sunshine, lollipops and rainbows are in the forcast for us, especially when we are going to have to see a colts defence this week that showcases one of the leagues best passrushers, and an offence that most teams wish they had. But at least we can see what Dr.Pepper and Staff infection can do with our biggest toys. Maybe this week we will get to see our future dynamic duo in action and that is going to get alot of us back on the Kool-aid but just remember guys that this is only another preseason game and not the real thing, so if we lose I don't want to hear alot of "next year" talk and if we win I don't want to hear the "P" word either.Let's just take it for what it is. . . . . practice.

Going to give it to you quick how our leagues scoring system works. My big money league (if there was such a thing) is going to do our draft on the holliday weekend and I'm mulling over a few ways to go and I want your opinions. First off this is a TD only league, yardage don't meen shit! Please rememer this later. 1-9 yrd=6 points 10-39yrd=9pnts anything over 40=12. if a positional player scores a TD in a different manner ie. a rb catch's/throws for a TD the point values double 1-6=12 10-39=18 40+=24. Same goes for QB's and WR's if they score an "untraditional" TD points double. . . .No if you draft say Hester and he returns a punt/kr for a td those go to Def/ST. Understand so far? Cool, So My delema is I draft 4th out of 10 in the first round and ofcourse 7th in the second, the key this year is I draft 1st in the 3rd. So I am Damn sure Brady and AP are gone 1 and 2 in no particular order, I am thinking that either Brees or P.Manning is going to go 3rd. With this senerio playing out would you guy's take L. Tomlinson at the 4 spot and on your swing pick(7th 2nd rd) go and take R.Brown from Miami? There would still be many top tier players when I draft in the 3rd round and I am probably going with the top WR since I think that position is week with top tier picks. A johnson isn't that good in our league because he gets shit loads of yards but not so hot on TD's. Another Senerio is Taking Moss with the 4 and on swing trying to grab another top WR due to most if not all elite RB's will be gone by second pick. Then getting top tier QB in 3rd round. What do you guys think, I really think LT is the way to go but you guys have already had a few drafts and I was curious also who fell in your guys's drafts? Did rb's like Grant/Slaton/K Smith/P. Thomas "sleepers if you will" who was there in the middle rounds that surprised you guys.

Brother of sorts, I miss you man. I hope that your pain is going away a little bit more every day. I just want to send a shout out to you letting you know I/we are missing one of our brothers still. I left a plate at the dinner table for you but the food is still all there, so i'm guessing that you are still in mourning. I still wish you the best and did you notice the underdog punn? I wish I had a good joke to tell you just to help put a smile on that ugly mug of yours but I don't think that I have a funny one in me about losing someone at least. Well like I said I/we miss you and hurry your butt up and get back here. Don't make me go find Ralphie boy just to get you back on here, it's bad enough that Revenge4favre figured out how to find our site, now that Favre has returned; like a bad sequal that never ends. It's worse than friday the 13th. Sunday the 15th part 12 the retirement of favre, this is were he has to fight off Jason/freddie and Mike Myers to start for the 8th team that he has held hostage.

And how in the world is he a lions beat reporter? We looked like a real football team and this guy Caputo's article n the front page mad it sound like we were horrible. Did that guy watch the same game as all of us? Yes 1 rec kept dropping balls that were right in his hands, but he is a 3rd stringer and most likely wont make the team anyways. I didn't see our lions crumble when we got down like last year. The score after the first quarter wasn't double digits, and our D-fence didn't miss every tackle under the sun. Only 1 tackle on a human bowling ball that was taken to the house. The same old lions my ass. We have not blitzed that much in decades and we actually looked better than most of us thought our 2 lines were going to look. The O-line was a hugh surprise to me, they actually looked better than I could of imagined. We ran the ball right until the very end of the game, when have we stuck to the run game in resent years? The DT's actually seemed to be playing in the backfield on quite a few plays, that was VERY pleasant too see. i would like too see Cason and Colbert cut this week but we will see how that plays out, Hard to say if Staff would of thrown that pick 6, if Colbert wouldn't of kept dropping balls put right into his hands. I was very very surprised to see how good Staff looked last night with 3rd string rec's. 2 bad passes 1 int and the other was overthrown but Megatron would of not been overthrown on that particular play. Brown and Ervin both looked better than any rookies I've seen in recent years.I really liked what I saw out of Brown, very fast outta the backfield and was elusive on the rec TD. This guy will make the team 4 sure, he is going to be our version of Darren Sproles or Chris Johnson, the change of pace RB. And If you guys thouht I was on the kool-aid before, watch out now cause i'm punch drunk on lions juice. I said it once and now I'll say it again, we are going to be BIG darkhorse division contenders this year. On a side note did anybody see that crybaby in Chicago had a poor outting in his debut.I still think he was a product of his rec's in denver. Anyways chime in and tell me what you guys thought of yesterdays preseason game.
