I go this from Tim Cary's Twitter feed. It appears that Robbie did not hear a "pop" when he fell in the first half.
I don't know what it means, but as far as I know it is the closest I have seen to a comment so far.
Also, this was taken on the plane after the game.
I can't take much from that, but at least its good to see that he is at least not in pain (also, it is Smooge's 21st tonight and it sounds like they're going to the Cactus. If you are on campus, please use this information wisely). However, here is what I think I know. If it isn't torn, I have no doubt that Robbie will find a way back. Don't forget that Robbie came back from a dislocated finger against Ohio State in about a minute earlier this year and played much of last year with a damn broken back. Hell, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if he went DeJuan Blair on us and just asked to have his ACL removed. He's tough. He'll be back.
Now please let it be this year.
Donnie Hale!
According to Gold & Black, Donnie Hale has committed to Purdue's class of 2010. That makes 4 players committed to Purdue who are ranked 135 or higher in Purdue's class of '10.
Additionally, that makes 2 potentially excellent recruiting classes in a row and 3 out of 4. Boiler up baby.
Down Goes Carolina
And Michigan State appears to be on its way out against Ohio State.
That means that out of the top 11 teams in the AP poll, a whopping 7 teams have lost before the finals of their conference tournament (Carolina, Pitt, UCONN, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Wake and Kansas).
I don't have much analysis on this, it just seems kinda crazy and highlights how wide open this tournament will be. Perfect for a Purdue run to Detroit.
Syracuse/UCONN
Is anyone out there still awake for this? As of this writing, we are in the 5th overtime and the 'Cuse looks intent on forcing a 6th. This has gone on so late that I live on the West coast and my dog has now decided that it was time to go to bed.
Syracuse clearly needs a layup coach. I should send it my resume. Back in middle school I was money from either side.
IU Bandwagon Thread
Ed. note. This is cross-posted from my occasionally updated blog, http://daltman.blogspot.com
As I write this, IU is down only against a sloppy looking Michigan State team with 18 minutes left. If IU can pull off this unbelievable upset, Purdue's Big Ten title hopes are brought back from the grave and it sets up a HUGE game this Sunday in East Lansing.
Accordingly, please allow me to utter those three little words I never thought I would hear myself say: Lets. Go. Hoosiers.
