Tonight, Trevor Cahill made his first start in AA for the Midland Rockhounds. I didn't see it live but his performance was rather impressive when i saw the box score and since no one has said anything about it here yet, i figured i would. 6 IP, 2 Hits, 1 ER, 3 BB, and 6 K. I have loved this kid from the minute he put on an A's jersey and i feel like if he continues this type of pace in AA as a 20 year old he is automatically a top 3 pitching prospect. What do you guys think?

A's Director of Player personnel said this:

"Rodriquez likely will open the year at Midland, but Lieppman said, "Winter ball developed him quicker than we thought. The jury's still out on him. I could see him ending up in Sacramento.""

What do you guys think? I personally believe that Triple-A would be way too high for him but AA maybe.

Joe Blanton Trade

I just saw a video clip on Foxsports of Ken Rosenthal giving a little update on Blanton. Rosenthal said a source told him that atleast two teams are seriously involved in trade talks right now. Apparently his source wouldn't tell him who the teams are but that there was a 50-50 chance he gets traded before the season. Rosenthal said that he believes one of the teams is the Reds and he also said that the Rays or Twins could be involved simply because they desire a veteran pitcher and in the Rays' case, have young talent to spare. What do you all think?

Blanton to the Reds for Cueto, Todd Frazier, and Kyle Lotzkar?

Or Blanton to the Rays for Jennings, and Brignac?

I was wondering if someone could do me a huge favor. I refuse to pay on espn.com to read the material and there is something new that really intruiged me. I'm a huge A's fan and Buster Olney just put something up that has to do with "An open ended question for each team." The picture for the article is Huston Street and in the summary he says he talks about when Street will be traded.

I was hoping someone with access to the article could copy/paste or atleast paraphraise for me.

Thanks for the help!!

Reid Brignac

I was wondering what the big hooplah over Brignac is. I have seen all of his stats and read many prospect analyses and all of that but he fails to impress me. Sure he had one good season and there are few players with his skills but he is just plain over-rated. I have seen in a number of different places that he was considered a top 20 prospect in all of the minor leagues. I do understand that he has top-notch tools and may one day be a star but a top 20 prospect that has had one good season and just recently hit .260 in AA doesn't equal a top prospect to me. A prospect with good tools and still with a LOT to prove, yes. What are your opinions?
