Its raining here in Indiana, and rainy days are boring days. Plus the next couple games are postponed because of Ike, so now I'm really bored! I don't know how I thought of it in the first place, but its been plaguing me all day So heres a question for all you to think about. Who's the next Cubs great to have his number retired? My answer would be either Fergie Jenkins/Maddux for #31, and thats all I got so far, so what do you think?

Look guys, lets try to get over that fiasco in the ninth. Why isn't anyone talking about Rich Harden? I thought he was tremendous today. Ten fanned, 5.1 innings of scoreless pitching. He had his stuff working today on all cylinders. That standing ovation was a more than proper welcome to the Northside. Lets talk Harden. If he pitches the way he has all season including today, this pitching staff is downright dangerous. Thoughts?

I haven't posted anything in a while, but I read everything on this site when I am bored at work. But I am only 18 and am always bored when I have to work. All that aside, this really got me thinking.

Now I don't know if you heard, but the Cubs are looking at pitchers and want to make moves for Sabathia, Harden, maybe even Duchscherer (sarcasm)

I believe that the Padres will be sellers at the deadline and the Cubs have expressed their interest in people like Wolf and Maddux. But what I ask is: Is it even worth making a trade for these guys if we cannot land a top-tier pitcher like Sabathia? I don't want a trade to be made for the sake of a trade being made. I don't know I might just be talking out of my ass, what do you think?

Just for the sake of striking up some conversation, do you guys believe that Haren will be traded, and if so, what would it take for the Cubs to land him?

I'm thinkin about 2-3 prospects. Buster Olney states in his blog that he doesn't have a no-trade clause.
One would only have to pay him $4 mil in 2008, $5.5 mil in 2009, and a $6.75 mil option for 2010. Sounds like a much better deal than Santana.
