What would you say if i told you these things 6 months ago...
Matt Cassel has a higher QB rating this season(94.5) than
Peyton Manning(93.9)
Eli Manning(92.1)
Drew Brees(91.7)
Aaron rodgers(90.6)
Just to name a few he has the 9th highest Passer rating in the league.
That Cassel is in the top 5 in the league for TD passes.
That the only two Qbs with less interceptions than him (young and vick) havent started every game. AKA hes tied (with a couple) of Qbs for least INts thrown.
That the Chiefs have only given up 15 sacks all year!
That Jamaal Charles is averaging 6 yards a carry
that Charles has around 800 yards a Jones 600, both very easily being able to reach 1000 Yards a piece.
That Dwayne Bowe is atop the league in TDs caught and 2nd in the league for TDs total among RBs and Recievers ( Passing not included in this stat)
That Tamba Hali is in the top 3 in the league in Sacks.
Derick Johnson is in the top 12 in the league in tackles
Flowers is in the top 5 in the league in Pass Deflections and Johnson is in the top 12
Flowers is statistically outpreforming Revis in every category.
Johnson is 3rd in the league in forced fumbles.
These are just a few stats i found interesting, still alot of room for improvment in our young Chiefs team, but the pieces are in place for a great year and years to come.
Chiefs are 6-4 and playoff hopefuls
Chiefs MNF battle could be missing a couple of the oppositions Stars.
"The two players do not plan to report for the start of training camp and quite possibly well beyond, league sources have told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The Union-Tribune is reporting that the two players plan to hold out until after Week 10 of the 2010 season unless they receive long-term deals or are traded.
Jackson and McNeill need to play six weeks to get credit for an accrued season.
"
What Positions the Chiefs still need to make a run for the playoffs.
Thankfully our beloved chiefs have been (i'd say) fairly outstanding this offseason thus far. They eliminated multiple needs, or at least postponed thier urgency so we can focus on other things that are stronger in this years draft. After the jump I'm going to go in order of most nesscary upgrades to least.
"The Colts cut starting left guard Ryan Lilja on Monday. I think he could be a good fit in Kansas City. The Chiefs are looking for offensive linemen and Lilja started his career in Kansas City and he is a Kansas City native."
Williamson makes a good connection here. I'd like to see this happen.

Jets release CB Lito Sheppard
Jets have released CB Lito Sheppard and he is now a free agent.
My take.. get him!
Bengals declined to offer tenders to TE Daniel Coats, TE J.P. Foschi and DT Shaun Smith. They're free to sign anywhere.

Chiefs Big Board( By round)
Allright, basically what im gonna do here is make a big board of who i think would be a good fit here by round, it should be interesting and hopefully spark some intelligent debate, so here goes nothing.
ROUND 1
1. Suh- He weighed in at 307 and rocked the combine. Im positive he can play NT at the next level. Doubt he falls to us but should still be atop our board. Pioli went to the Nebraska/ Missouri game to see him so he may feel similiar on this topic.
2. Berry- Big playmaking safety that everyone wants. great Instincts. I think hes gonna drop in the draft, hopefully we'll pick him up.
3. Haden- Great Corner, imagine him with flowers. Itd be beautiful.
4. Okung- Oline needs work and Okung would be an immediate impact.
5. Rolando Mcclain- Alot of people love him, alot of people arent sold on him. i think he can play well. but shouldnt be a top choice.
6. Dez Bryant- Great WR, Cassel needs a #1 reciever. IMO Bowe is a #2. but there are good options in later rounds.
7.. Earl Thomas- Could end up being as good as Berry, just depends on how we wanna approach the draft
ROUND 2
1. Golden Tate- This guys a beast and reminds me of Jerry RIce. He will be a great WR
2. Terrence Cody- he will fall in the draft, alot. am i sold that he will be an anchor NT? No, but he has the best chance IMO to be one in this draft. and if Crennel cant make him a great NT no one can.
3. Sean Weatherspoon.- Good OLB but i dont see him being anything beyond a solid starter for his career.
4. Brandon Spikes- Good ILB should be able to contribute.
5. Brandon Graham- This kid is a "DE" but will best translate to a blitzing OLB . Him and Tamba would be a great pair. think lamar Woodley when you think of him. Id love to see him as a chief
6. Iupati- Probably wont fall this far, but his football knowledge is supposedly lacking so who knows. But he would be a good Guard at the NFL level
7. Maurkice Pouncey- Good Center. Not sure where hell fall but if hes there at 2b, which i doubt. Id consider it.
3rd Round
1. Jordon Shipley- Love this guy for a slot option. I'd get him in a heart beat
2. Toby Gerhart- Looks like a late 2nd rounder, but could serve value here.
3. Dennis Pita- We need a TE and hes got solid recieving skills.
4. Reshad Jones- Playmaking Safety out of Georgia. if hes there itd be nice.
4th round
1. Leggarrete Blount- We need a thunder back and his past mistakes might benefit the Chiefs. I'd draft this guy in the 4th for sure.
2. Anthony Dixon- another thunder back. We need to invest in one to compliment Charles.
3. Sergio Render- Filling the trenches, i think he has a good skill set from what ive seen
5Th Round
1. Zac Robinson- Watching this QB play, he has good accuracy, just need to make better decisions. Wouldnt be a bad gamble in the 5th.
2.Brandon Lang- DE/OLB out of troy, he has good rushing ability and wouldnt be a bad option
3. Cameron Sheffield- Troy OLB, has good fundamentals , could be decent.
4. Kion Wilson- South Florida ILB- Project guy that might eventually start
6th RD
1. John Connor- Yes John Connor, we need a FB, he makes sense as a traditional FB. Plus what a bad ass name
Thats all i feel like doing right now. So my perfect draft would look like this
1. Eric Berry
2a. Golden Tate
2b.Terrence Cody
3. Brandon Graham
4. Jordon Shipley
5a. Legarrete Blount
5b. Sergio Render
5c. Zac Robinson
6. John Connor
More likely
1. Eric Berry
2a. Terrence Cody
2b. Brandon Spikes
3. Brandon Graham
4. Kerry Meier
5a. Zac Robinson
5b. Sergio Render
5c. Anthony Dixon
6. John Connor
There ya go, enjoy.
Colquitt Record?
Andy Lee set an NFL record in 2007 with 42 punts inside the 20. Colquitt has according to my source 43. Via www.profootballfocus.com any thoughts or insight in this or if this is a truth or is profootballfocus wrong?
Possible Late 2nd round Nose Tackle
Dan Williams- 6'3 327lbs
Tennessee Volunteers
ESTIMATED 5.2 40 yard dash
This is my Alternative in case we are unable to attain Vince Wilfork or Casey Hampton
Or if we do not draft Terrence Cody, which i do not believe we will.
Impressive - Jamaal Charles is the first RB ever to rush for 1,100 or more yards on fewer than 200 carries.
6:35 AM Jan 4th from UberTwitter - Adam Sheffter
Looks like the Chiefs are drafting in the 5th spot.
Okay so as we now know Chiefs have ended this season 4-12
ill look at the Draft order
St Louis is the proud owner of the number 1 overall pick with a 1-15 record
the number two slot is owned by the Lions who went 2-14
the number 3 is owned by tampa bay who went 3-13
and this is where it gets tricky
Washington has 126 opponent wins. which is the next determinant for spots
Kansas City has 132 or possibly 133 depending on if Cincinnati wins tonight.
so unfortunately we get the 5th spot.
1. Rams
2. Lions.
3. Bucs
4. Redskins
5. Chiefs.
So Berry may fall to us like alot of you on here hope. I see the Rams drafting QB,
the Lions i see drafting Oline or possibly Dline
Bucs would jump all over suh if he was there. They also need a WR
Redskins could use a QB, WR, Oline,
so lets hope we get Berry. If not we should still get a quality player regardless. but still id love berry
Keys to the franchise
Allright in this Fanpost i'm going to go over who we should actually keep as the starters and why. I am going to reference "profootballfocus.com" alot because i like the anylisis it provides. Here goes nothing i guess.
Team Perspective, Breakdown Position by Position. (Offense Pt1)
Allright for this article i am going to give a little perspective on each position on the field and where we stand. It should be interesting, i'm sure many will disagree with me,but hey...what are blogs for? at the end of each analysis i will have a need for improvment where i rate from 1-10, 1 being no imrovment needed in personell terms and 10 being top priority) so here goes nothing.
Patriots Release Kendall Simmons OL
Former First round pick of the Steelers was relased by the Patriots today.
He suffered a Achilles tendon injury last year in week 4.
What I Want For Christmas.
Yes it would be a very late XMAS present but heres my first editionof a KC mock Draft
What this team needs.
I've noticed that most dominant defenses in the league have something in common. A freak at Saftey. Whether it was the Eagles of past with Brian Dawkins, the Steelers with Troy Polomalu, or the Ravens with Ed Reed, all these stout defenses had a beast playing the saftey position. Dont get me wrong, i actually love having Jared Page, i think hes a good football player, i also think Mike Brown is a brilliant stop gap, but thats the problem, hes just a stop gap.

Help Needed!
Allright, so i live in Indiana, thus get bombarded with boring NFC East games. Does anyone know where i can watch the chiefs live online? If so please provide a link if possible . Thank you
Im getting sick of...
People being pessimistic about the chiefs season allready!
Matt Cassel didnt play and we still had a shot against Baltimore. If matt Cassel would have played i highly doubt the play calling would have been so conservative in the beggining of the game were we went 3 and out many times.
Brandon Flowers also didnt play and although Legget may have shown some good plays Legget is not our starter and showed it when we saw legget give up plays that flowers would have not of.
THe defenser looked great out there. People are scrutinizing the amount of yards given up BUT the problem is the Defense was on the field basically the whole first half. The Casseless Offense was getting stuffed by a STOUT baltimore defense.
The Offensive line although not good was adaquate and will give Cassel Oppurtunities to make plays when he returns.
Wide Reciever play was decent. Bowe made a couple of decent plays, Bradley was spectacular minus a drop and engram played well.
The Rushing attack was obviousely horrible, but that was primarily due to baltimores defense rather than our inadaquacy.
QB play- Croyle was impressive. a good backup is nice to have.
Dline- Did a so/so job They had times where they looked good and times where they looked not so good. give this young line time to devolep and they will be good.
Linbackers- did the best job of anyone today. D. Johnson proved his worth with that huge INT ( at lleast he didnt drop it like in the Meadow Lands last year. Vrabel was Solid as always. Hali made some Good rushing plays and forced a fumble although he still needs to work on coverage. and even Demmorio williams made a couple stand out plays
Secondary- Page and Brown were decent each makinf their fair share of plays. Legget got burned a couple times but wasnt horrible . Other than the Go Ahead TD Carr played well
Special Teams- Played decent we had that good block and good coverage, but the return game was suspect. a legget fumble wasnt good. Oh and Succop is amazing, couldnt forget that.
Overall this team has potential they played play for play with one of THEE best teams in the NFL thiers no reason they cant do that with any other team. MY prediction is we go 7-9 through 9-7
Oh and we beat Oakland 24-7
Hopefully skepticism about the CHiefs will decrease, because they played one hell of a game
Merriman in trouble with the law
Merriman was arrested after a domestic call by his TV star girlfriend
Nduwke proboly a Guard not a Tackle.
Posted by ESPN.com's Bill Williamson The Kansas City Chiefs announced that they will send one undisclosed 2010 draft choice to Miami as compensation for offensive linemen Ike Ndukwe and Andy Alleman. The Chiefs describe Nduwke as a guard **I know this is old news but ive seen alot of talk bout Nduwke as a RT.**
Generic Chiefs Ticket Question
Hey everyone, i just have a quick question and didnt want to fanpost it. I was wondering if anyone knows where to find the best deals on Chiefs tickets. My buddy and I want to come down from Indiana on Nov 22 for the steelers game. We just dont know where to get the best deals. Thanks
Mr. Irelevant plans to be relevant
And the title of Mr. Irrelevant goes to …
South Carolina kicker Ryan Succop was the last pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, going 256th overall to the Kansas City Chiefs.
"I don’t really mind it. I don’t plan on being irrelevant," Succop told The Associated Press of being picked last. "I’ve been very blessed, and I plan on making an impact right away. I’ve been blessed with the ability to do it, and I’m looking forward to doing it."
As Mr. Irrelevant, Succop will be honored in Newport Beach, Calif., with an opening reception on June 23. The All-Star Lowsman Trophy Banquet and Rams reunion will be held at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel on June 25. Succop will wrap up Irrelevant week with a Main Street welcome and closing ceremonies in Huntington Beach, Calif., on June 27. For more information, visit the Mr. Irrelevant Web site.
Last year’s Mr. Irrelevant, Idaho LB David Vobora, turned out to be quite relevant to the Rams. Vobora played in eight games, including a start in a Nov. 30 game against the Dolphins, and made 15 tackles.
Chiefs Pick Security Over Sexy.
The Chiefs have made multiple picks this weekend that alot of the NFL draft anaylists call reaches and that they could of gotten them in later rounds. BUT it is obvious(to me at least) what the Kansas City Chiefs are doing. They are simply picking the players that they feel they can count on over what the mock experts think they need. Lets Break it down.
Pick number 3 was Tyson Jackson. While his numbers dont jump out at you, his competitive drive certainly does. This guy has a motor that is almost unprecedented for such a big guy. I was watching film on this kid and you get what you see. What was seen is a 6'4, 298 pound beast running a quarter of they way down the football field to get a tackle. So numbers wise this is not a sexy pick, but when it comes to getting a football player who will be unselfish and do everything possible to win, the Chiefs sure did pick up some security on the D-Line.
Allright lets jump to the 3rd round now. Here the Chiefs picked up Alex Mcgee. I'm from Indiana so i've seen this guy play alot. He is a versatile player who like T.Jackson is very selfless. He put up good numbers in college and was the anchor of Purdue's defense. He moved all around the D-Line and is a can't miss prospect. I suspect he will play end for the chiefs and will do a fantastic job. Film of him shows that in a tough big ten conference he is well able to penetrate into the backfield and disrupt the play. He will make a good run defending DE at 6'3 295 pounds and should do a overall good job and could become an imiedatestarter/ contributor. This is a secure pick with low risk.
Furthermore lets look towards the 4th round to see depth added to both the corner position as well as getting the Chiefs a Quality CB to play the nickel and Special Teams. Ohio State has been known to put out Pro Ready Football players with high football IQ. Donald Washington should be no different. Playing on the opposite side Of Malcolm Jenkins in Ohio State, Washington had his fair share of big plays. BUT he never lived up to his potential. The guys numbers dont show him being the athletic freak he actually is, but with proper coaching this guy can develop into a solid Corner in the NFL. Hes reluctant to play the run, but some hard nosed coaching can turn this guy around and one has to love his attitude of wanting to go out play and most of all win! Washington also has good vision which may very well translate to him making a versatile return man. This pick is safe by getting a NFL ready athlete that the coaching staff can mold.
Now lets glance at the 5th round. The Chiefs decided to go OT here. Collin Brown from Missouri his a HUGE anchor at 6'8 325 lbs. Another pick that was viewed as a "reach". But this guy is reliable. He has long arms and is a force. Yes he has some problems such as getting under the defender to push them back, but this is Something Pioli was known for In NE. He takes raw OL talent and molds them in to Pro Bowlers. E.G. Mankins ( who was also considered a reach) Matt Light, Koppen(164th overall) and Kaczur) So although he may not come in and play right away, he should be able to take thr RT job from Mcintosh in the near future. He doesnt have the Hype of a Duke Robinson, but he sure has the reliability.
So its obvious what the Chiefs are doing in this draft. They are not drafting flashy players that just look to pad their own stats. They ARE drafting players that will get the Kansas City Chiefs one step closer to Super Bowl Champions.

Bargaining Chip?
Look im the first person to be completly upset about gonzo leaving. I was angry, but having thought about it i kinda have to believe that Pioli and Haley may have dont this to use it as a bargaining chip THIS year. I fully anticipate us trading one of our 2nd rounders NEXT year in this draft. So things may not always be what they seem and dont be suprised to see that 2nd rounder be wheeled and dealed this weekend. Just Some food for thought and I'd like to hear what everyone thinks of this possibility that i think may be a near certianty.
Can Dorsey Play DE?
via i.cdn.turner.com
Dorsey has Above Average speed for a DT. Basically i want to hear arguments for or against Dorsey for being a DE. I think it is possible but im unsure how effective he might be.
so far i got
Adv- Fast, good motor- good power movers- would stuff the run as a DE which is good in a 3-4
Disadv- only 6-1
not as fast as most De's but is average.

Forget Braylon? Reel in Anquan!
via static.nfl.com
Allright, so theres been alot of hype about wanting a WR. Braylon Edwards has come up often but hes high priced and well high risk. He had a great year in 2007 but he drops alot of footballs. I say we go after Anquan Boldin. Haley knows him and he knows what hes gonna get. I also know him and Haley might not have the best relationship, but if we could potentially land Boldin, the new regime has GOT to pull the trigger.
The Cards said they'd entertain offers for him. The guys a freak, hes strong, good hands and our offense would be stacked.(except for RT). Having him with Dbowe and Engram in the slot along with the best TE to ever play the game, my my who says we couldnt have a patriots type skill set on offense. =) ....Let me know what everyone thinks and also tell me how i did this is my first fanpost.
