Niners Nation Alex Smith

All i am going to say is wow, and begin by giving Alex smith his well earned props. I dont live in san francisco and i hardly get to watch the niners play live on TV. Last thursday i was excited to watch crabtree play his first game and so i decided to check the tv guide and to my surprise it was there 49ers Vs. Texans. I say this because Fox couldn't have picked a better game to broadcast in my area. Who in their right mind would have thought that after a horrible first have the outcome would have been anywhere close to the one we saw. For a second i thought i was in the "Twilight Zone" Alex smith starting, nevertheless putting up points on the board and leading a team with complete poise and confidence. Weather or not it was a fluke and or a vanilla defense i dont CARE im tired of everybody downing on Alex and calling him a bust. No other Qb in the league has had to go through everything he went through and all the injuries which were the O lines fault in the first place, and unlike most of niner fans i have never given up on him and until hes no longer a 49er i never will. Bottom line he is better than shaun hill and i knew the so called "Qb Battle" this preseason was a fluke. No one ever saw any one quaterback be better than the other and based on the preseason the only good Qb was davis who definitely isnt ready. We all knew all along that alex had all the right Qb mechanics to be a good or better than average Qb in this league and yet we let a coach (Nolan) who did nothing but draft a couple of good players tell us that alex wasn't ready and totally threw him under the bus. Its no wonder that he did good in his first snaps with singletary behind the controls, and alot of you are forgetting Raye was the offensive coordinator in the game!! If any quaterback can make Jimmy Raye look like Josh Mcdaniels then he must have some good skills i would say. I dont care whos behind me or not in this one but to me i felt like we gave up way to quick on Alex especially after what he went through. I mean come on we all know shaun hill wasnt gonna take us to the playoffs maybe a winning record but not the playoffs. I have hope that alex will improve and he will be the starting Qb for the rest of the season and maybe even the future. My future prediction on alex smith is that he will be the starter the rest of the season and these will be his stats approximately.

1,985 yards passing  284yards rushing

18 Tds  9 Ints and most important 6 games won.(I was guessing 5 but i want to make the playoffs so i made it 6)

It may be a little early for predictions but i myself think alex is no fluke and i always thought that the injuries and coaches and the players he played with weren't much to talk about. Now that he has the right offensive weapons(Crabtree, Davis, Morgan, Gore ) and has once again won the starting job it maybe his last time to save his career in the bay area.To everyone who ever doubted Smith after this there really wont be any excuses for any niner fans well except for the O Line ( Cant have the cake and eat it 2..Lol.) Its do or die time now and halfway to what maybe his last season in niner uniform i think he will come thru and win comeback player of the year. (I Believe In Miracles)

Its never to late to dream!!

Niners Nation Time to panic???

Like most niners fans im looking forward to see the niners come back after that horrible loss two weeks prior, and as i read all these posts about the match up i think like the falcons alot of us are underestimating the Texans. Before this weeks match up i didn't pay a lot of attention on the Texans but somewhere all along i knew they had talent. As the week approach all i could think about was how it was going to be crabtrees first game and how he would play. When i started doing research on the Texans i saw alot of scary similarities between the Falcons and texans starting with the Qb. Matt Schaub just happens to be leading the nfl in touchdown passes after not throwing one his first game, and boy has he been on fire passing for 6 Tds these last  two games. His last game he lit up the opponents secondary for 4 passing Tds and 392 yards, if that doesn't surprise you it came against a then hot team the Bengals. Lets also not forget one of the best wideouts in the game today Andre Johnson leading the NFL in receiving yards and his sidekick Jacobey Jones who already has 3 td receptions this year, combine that with a stud tight end Owen Daniels who has 374 yards and 4 Tds. Their running back Steve Slaton is also one of the better backs in the NFL who last year rushed for 1,282 yds and 9 rushing tds, and even though hes had a slow start i wouldn't keep my eyes of this guy as he is a quality runner who is definitely dangerous out in the open. Adding this up and what do we have?? A very very dangerous team that in my view has a better offense than the falcons and if the niners defense doesn't show up for the second week in a row, i think were in some major problems. I just hope the coaches have been paying more attention to the texans than Crabtree because we all know the niners are not good at playing catch up. Then again i think this will be one of the most important games of the season because if we lose three straight (Falcons, Texans, Colts) we are gonna be in some major momentum problems towards the playoffs. That said i think this is the real GPS game so hope we come out of this with a victory or at least stay in the game and make it a close one because if they dont have an answer for the Texans Offense Its gonna be another long day in the Lone Star State.

Niners Nation Fire The Offensive Line Coach!!!!

As all this talk goes on about how bad our O line is i think it goes way deeper than that. I have read alot of posts regarding how bad our line is and how bad the players are but have yall even considered that it might be the Line coach that is at fault?? At first i was just like the rest of yall blaming the players but with a further look at it, my finger pointing is headed one direction and one direction only to Chris Foerster the root of the problem. I also believe there is one way to solve this problem fire his behind and bring someone who can really make imporvements. I dont know how much longer i can take 2.1 yards per rush, and i dont know about yall but i would sure hate to miss the playoffs just because our O line cant hold up. If yall dont believe me look at his track record the guy has been awful since hes been a line coach in the NFL. And i think the only reason he got a job with the 49ers is because his old pal Nolan brought him form baltimore.

Niners Nation 49ers Need Desperate Help!!!

Somebody please help the 49ers!!! Im done with believing that the offense is gonna

get better. After 5 games i have noticed a couple of things that i think should be fixed

and fixed ASAP. Altough we did have a good start to the year i couldnt help but notice

that alot of the playcalling seemd a bit strange. The runs always thru the middle and

always leading to short yard gains, and you could say the passing improved but i guess

it only showed up for 2 games. Im done with Jimmy Raye and im done with all the bad play calling,

someone would think that after making the same lame playcalling for 4 games that it would change

up a bit. I was wrong, i guess raye doesnt get the point that running always thru the middle is just not

gonna cut it anymore. It also doesnt help that Coach Sing and Raye were both yapping about how the

team was based all upon running and that it was gonna go thru the "Cowbell" Frank Gore.

I guess they didnt count on frank being injured or having a little less than average Qb in hill.

By no means am i talking down on hill because he has done a good job managing the game and i

dont think its his fault that his team  is a run first offense well that cant run. Disregarding the 2  long runs

against the hawks  which were blown up more than they should be, altough they were good blocks and i give

gore all the credit in finding the right holes and executing like a real nfl superstar.

Other than those 2 runs the heavy run team has been well pathetic. I know what yall are thinking, im mad because

the niners lost and now im bashing them getting  my anger out right?? Wrong we niner fans had been knowing this

and its not the first time Rayes playcalling   was mentioned as an issue. In fact it has been an issue since the first

week of the nfl when the cards shut us down in the running game. Then when gore got hurt it became the same

deal with bad playcalling but since our defense has been playing stellar well had been playing stellar, we all just put

these issues aside and hoped they got better.

Well niner fans this is what we were waiting for the moment the bad playcalling

caught up to us and smacked us right in the face. The one game the defense doesnt show up is the game

we get blown out, and i know its not all playcalling because the players themselves made alot of the mistakes. It still

doesnt beat out the fact that we couldnt do anything against the falcons. What about the first drives you say??

Good first drives no doubt but what happened afterwards?? Did the 49ers just give up hope like everyone believes?

No something very simple happened, the falcons adjusted and managed to control the game the rest of the way.

All in all this game shows us that we are not ready to take that step further to the playoffs, because playoff teams

are teams like the falcons and teams like the giants who are gonna always be ready for our dumb playcalling

and lack of head coaching experience.

The truth is i am mad at the niners overall and it has nothing to do with the

loss against the falcons, it has more to do with everyone noticing the errors and bad playcalling and the 49ers team

as a whole(Owner, GM, Coaches, Players) not giving a damn about it. If i was Jed York I would have gone to the

coaches themselves and said" Guys i know yall know what yall are doing but even i know that this playcalling is

horrible" so they would at least put a little more effort into it. I also know that Coach sing is inexperienced but

any longtime football fan can tell you that the niners have been hiding behind the 3 wins and the Should have won

Victory over the Vikes and also behind what we thought was a top ten defense in the league. But now the secret is

out and the nfl knows that those games were won on defenses against below average teams and yes according to

their winning percentage the hawks, cardinals and rams are all below 500 teams that we face on a regular year

to year basis. My guess by the end of this year we will have another offensive coordinator for the 6th staright year

and we will have a two top draft picks were we draft the first QB to fall to us will be taken(Mccoy, Bradford, Tebow)

and also the o so needed o lineman that will try and make up for the horrible play from the guys we have now.

That being said i think if some changes dont happen fast we will have to endure what we have been enduring

for almost a decade now and that is watching the 49ers be below 500.

Niners Nation Niners in for a tough stretch of games!!!

As we all know the niners upcoming schedule seems to be the real test. With games like the colts, texans, falcons, and the titans which were all teams with an above 500 record last year except for the texans who were right at 500. My point is i think we are all underrating all of these teams who last year all but one of these teams made the playoffs and had a combined record of 44 wins and 20 losses. Of course it doesnt help that michael crabtree just signed and were all looking forward to watching him back up all that hype he build his dumb holdout on. Also doesnt help that the titans and texans didnt have such a good start this year, but honestly i dont think its enough to consider them easy W´s. I just think that after our hot start we niner fans havent really put to much attention to these upcoming games, and obviously we have to take it one game at a time but as alot of us already consider us playoff bound i think the niners really need to show us that our 3-1 record is no fluke. And i think this stretch of games will reveal the truth about where we really stand and how far we will be able to make it, not just this season but these years to come which seem to have alot of promise. I just dont want to be like these past years where i build false expectations on the first 4 or 5 games where i think i can speak for alot of niner fans who do the same and year after year the niners find some way to have a losing streak over five during the middle of the season. That being said i do believe unlike the other seasons this one will be diffrent in part because of coach sing and the chemistry this team has built over the years. Enough to make a bold prediction of making it to the playoffs and winning the weakest division in football for the first time since 2002.

Niners Nation Niners Playoff Bound??

Font changed by Fooch.

After looking at all the results around the NFL the niners are one of eight  undefeated teams remaining. Out of those eight teams 6 of them made the playoffs last year the other non playoff team being the jets which were well on their way before the mid season break down. So does this mean that the niners are playoff bound?? I think it could be taken both ways really, one being that the niners are on the rise and as the numbers show are on the way to the playoffs. But how can i even mention the word playoffs after only two weeks??

Its easy, by looking at the two wins that the niners already have under their belt which came against two division opponents and of which one made it all the way to the super bowl and almost won. The other a team that has been one of the better teams in the league the last five to six years, which include many division titles in those years. So why are so many people not even mentioning this and why are they still doubting the niners as a legit contender. As most of us know we (niners) have been living in a shadow of darkness for practically the last decade. And as history would show its about time to step into the light. Tomorrow will be the biggest test so far and as heavy underdogs i believe its time for the niners to step up as the final and last test before they start considering us. The light is at the end of the tunnel and this time is for a revival instead of a demise.  The start of a playoff run perhaps or it may be the start of a renewed franchise in search for an identity that has been long lost since its last super bowl win.

In the near future i believe the name 49ers will again be the one of front headlines and this time it aint gonna be regarding selfish wide reciever (dont wanna mention his name im sick of that so called wideout) or about yet another coach change. The future looks bright for the niners and with two first round picks next year i believe it will complete some of the final pieces of the story in whole. I myself have been waiting for along time to see the niners be the niners of old. But lets take it one step at a time starting with the vikings, then a winning season, and possibly followed by the first playoff appearance in a couple of years. Playoff bound?? Very much so in my opinion.
