In honor of SamFels and co. I'll leave the pics of me out of it...

I'm new to the fanpost thing so I'm not sure if i'm doing this right, but after last night's win I felt the need to post this.  During my drunken reminiscing of the hawks season I  came to the realization of just how awesome 2010 has been.  So here goes my list of why the blackhawks 2010 season was the best ever

1. I found Second City Hockey...I definitely do more reading then writing, but you guys are the best.  The posts are to the point and usually spot on.  The commentary afterwards is top notch, not to mention your photoshopping skills...the guys at work love what you boys(and girls) come up with...from the hossa = most interesting man, to most recently Burish shooting champagne into kops mouth, you guys keep me coming back and wasting day after day of work.

2. I'll touch briefly on the topic, but I'm Mokena(Joliet area), born and raised, graduated from NIU and ended up in Tucson...having met my girlfriend down here she knew next to nothing about hockey...her favorite teams were the UA Wildcats and Suns.  After forcing her to sit down and watch the playoffs last year and seeing my fanaticism she started getting into the game to the point of begging me for a patrick kane jersey after his hat trick on bobby lu.  At that point we worked out our budget and made sure we got the center ice package for this year, and sat down to watch just about every hawks game we could.   Throughout the whole season I was looking for away to propose to my then girlfriend now fiance that would mean a lot to both of us.   it finally hit me that I could be one of THOSE guys who propose on the jumbotron at a game.  Since the hawks were sold out for most of the year, I decided to do it at a coyotes game when the hawks were in town.  I reserved one of the suites and put in a call to pat foley to see if i could get a shout-out to my friends back home...sure enough it happened, she loved it..and for any of you watching the March 20th game against the yotes, I was the moron getting engaged during a commercial break.

3. at that same game, sitting one suite over was Seabiscuit(fresh off his wisneiski crushing) and colin fraser, i was glued to the game, but my fiance kept looking over, and as soon as they walked out of the suite, she grabbed me and bolted after them to get a picture.  i've been a hawks fan my entire life, and never met any current members of a hawks team before...The pic above is the result of that.

So in closing I just want to say, at the beginning of the season, with only my friends back home to talk hockey about, to now, where I have a fiance who drools every time kanes on tv(i know i don't get it either) and the best hockey blog in town, this has been the best year ever....oh yeah and forgot reason #4....HAWKS WON THE CUP!!!!!!!!!!
