On the Indianapolis Colts blog 18to88.com we were discussing Roger Saffold.  

I have two questions we couldn't answer:

1.  What was the process by which Saffold won the left tackle job?

2.  According to footballoutisiders stats, the Rams went from very good running left in 2009 to very bad in 2010.

ALY:  2010 Left End: 3.47  Left Tackle: 3.18

          2009  Left End: 4.70 Left Tackle 5.27

That's a HUGE drop off in one year.  Now, the numbers can't say who is to blame.  What I would love to know from Rams fans is if there has been some other massive change on the left side OTHER than Saffold.  Is there some crappy new guard?  Is there a new terrible blocking tight end?

Or is Roger Saffold doing a terrible job run blocking?  The drop in production running left is pretty startling.  I know people are high on Saffold's pass blocking, but can anyone explain these run blocking numbers?
