Coincidence or not, Soto has hit .315 with five home runs and 10 RBIs in 16 games since Joshua arrived. He homered Thursday against Brewers reliever Chris Smith, smacking a 2-0 fastball over the left-field wall.

We all know this month long offensive funk as been painful. You're gonna either laugh or cry. So let's laugh and have some fun, eh?

It feels like the Cubs are never gonna start hitting, let's start a tongue-in-cheek list of things that have a better chance of happening before the Cubs find their offense. It'll start the the list off.

On May 17th, Conan ran across Wrigley being chased by security guards. He used it in his open of the Tonight Show last night. I thought it was pretty hilarious. FF to 2:00 to see it, but the whole open is pretty good.

Leadership: Good for Reed Johnson

Bradley was quoted yesterday as saying:

''Reed [Johnson] kind of put his foot in my [butt] today, figuratively, and got me back where I needed to be..."

It's good to see some leadership inside the Cubs locker room. I'm glad Reed adding value to the team, even if he's not playing a whole lot right now.

Aaron Miles Hostage Story

This story was new to me. I guess Aaron Miles survived a crazy hostage situation in 2000 when he was in the Minor Leagues. Slezak has the whole story here. It's pretty scary, but Miles held his own.

He gets some extra BCB Scrappy Points for this one.
