Chambers-Peter

This weekend sees a crossroads fight between Former title Holder Sam Peter & American Eddie Chambers. I really like Chambers, he had that fight with Povetkin in the bag if he believed in himself. If he believes in himself this weekend he could end up schooling Sam Peter.

We know Peter was terrible against Klitschko but after getting hit with tree trunk jabs, gameplans can vanish in the first minute. Chambers hits no way as hard but boxes very well. My personal gripe with Sam Peter is that i feel his power is way overated. Fighters with good chins, he cant put away, Chambers looks to be solid in the jaw department.

Im really wanting Eddie to shine this time and i think he will with a points victory.

How do you all see it going guys?

Carl Froch

Dont know if you all have had the chance to see the fight with Pascal yet but its fucking brilliant so hunt it down. Im not going to go on about it see for yourself but those that did what do you think the future holds for the cobra?

Iron chin or not i would like him to hold his hands up more, ive always said, i scream at the tv but does he listen? I really do think he has the beating of JT if they met which is likely but i do think Kessler is the man in the division.

Great fight and im happy that millions could see it on ITV without having to pay for it.

Calzaghe picks up CBE award from the Queen

Joe Calzaghe has recieved a CBE from the queen at Buckingham Palace. He has been recognised for his services to sport and voluntary work in Wales. This is on top of his MBE he received in 03 and sports personality award for 07. Joe has truly transended the sport and become a national figure. Good for him and Boxing.

I seriously doubt if her majesty stopped up till 4am to watch him fight like we all do.

Was Kelly Pavlik sick last Saturday?

From Sporting Life:

However, since the defeat, reports in The Vindicator newspaper in Pavlik's native Ohio suggest that bronchitis, as well as an elbow injury suffered in training prior to the fight, practically scuppered any chance Pavlik had in the bout.

"We all learned a good lesson," Pavlik's father and co-manager Mike said.

"We know now that if he's not completely healthy, we shouldn't go ahead with the fight.

"He's a tough kid and I think he'll come back with a vengeance. If not, then it's time for him to retire."

Pavlik himself added: "I just couldn't get off. My arms felt like they were 100 pounds each.

"I've never felt like that in the ring. I'd get to my corner and Jack [Loew, trainer] would say, 'You've got to do this,' and I couldn't do it. Even when I was throwing punches and hitting him, there was nothing on it."

What do you think? Sick, or he just cant handle the weight and got his ashcan kicked?
