I know UZR is one of the stats a lot of us tend to misunderstand and overvalue. This is MGL on the two regressions we need to factor in so that we can understand what the number tells us, and why UZR causes defense to be overvalued in todays game.
Does that mean that the bad defensive player is one of the new market inefficiencies? It could be since run scoring = batting and run preventing = pitching + defense with pitching being much more significant than defense.
