Long time reader. First time FanPost writer. I have plane tickets and lodging set up for Glendale, AZ, for 1/9 - 1/11. Needless to say I'm really excited about it, save one minor detail: I don't yet have tickets to the actual game. 

I'm a relatively recent grad and three-year season ticket holder, which means I was ineligible to even enter the lottery system. That doesn't bother me given the University's seat allotment, so I am looking for seats elsewhere.

Like everyone else looking for tickets on Craigslist, I don't really want to get bent over the post, but it's looking inevitable. My question is this: do you think scalping on-site is even a possibility? If I show up with $500 and wander around the stadium, do you think there's any chance of getting a ticket? Or do you think I should just accept my fate and buy one beforehand on Stub Hub or somesuch for an exorbitant price (pretty much $1000 at this point)?

What are other fans doing? Did the guy who wrote Dr. Phil get lucky?
