So the general concensus is Ron Artest + another player(s) for:

Donte Greene, Salary $971,000 (according to Amick's blog)

Future first rounder

Bobby Jackson, Salary $6,090,000

$1,000,000.

Now in theory, unless my math is a little off we could be trading Ron-Ron/Bill-Bill (Rocket's are lucky they only have to pay one salary for both!) straight up without an additional player. However many sources speculate there is at least one more player, possibly both of our second round draft-picks.

What theories can we come up with? I speculate it could be either/both second round picks, Houston could wait a full month and grab Bobby Brown (Unlikely, but hey... who had any idea houston would be a major contender for artest in the first place?), no-one at all, Quincy Douby, or a high-five from a few people that are happy to see Ron-Ron Gone-Gone.

To me both second-round picks make the most sense, just because we have 16 players prior to the deal, and if we're taking 2, we gotta be moving 2, or probably 3. Not to mension, history shows most GM's, especially petrie like to have at least 1 spot open for roster flexibility, but I'm sure there is no way we're dealing 4 total players.

P.S. what scares me most, without making other assumptions, we currently have 4 SF's (Artest, cisco, Salmons, Ewing), and five PF's (Moore, K9(Woof), Reef, Williams, Thompson), and getting Greene in the trader for artest basically leaves us in the same situation roster wise... Maybe cisco/salmons can spend some time at the 2 since we only have 2 shooting guards? but that'd probably be best saved for another thread, after the trade.

Your thoughts and rationalizations ladies and gentlemen?

Being from Northern Nevada I'll be keeping close tabs on our new D-league Affiliate. One of their Newpaper's bloggers see's our third-string PG (yet to be decided of course) playing in Reno.

I guess it's a tough call really, do you keep all of your PG's with the team so they can practice and learn the plays, or do you keep ones you can spare in top game-shape by sending them to the D-league? Dunno, what's your opinion?

And the 2011 NBA Champions are...

The Cavaliers.

There are so many things I find grossly entertaining about the NBA outside of watching the games, and shouting in my half-drunken stupor everytime a bad call is made, or a great alley-oop, an amazing block, or other things we all similarly shout about.

Beyond these things though, my passion in life happens to be money, I am a double major in Finance and Accounting, which of course leads me to often speculate, critique, and out-rate despise certain contracts that are made or lack there of in other cases. However, the looming question over nearly every GM in the league is how do I make space for the summer of 2010, and how do I put myself above the rest the negotiation for services from the likes of Wade, James, Bosh, among other amazing talents who will become available.

I was looking through hoops-hype earlier, I know they aren't the most up to date on salaries but I found this incredibly interesting. There was only one contract on the books for the Cavaliers in 2010/2011. Any guesses? That's right, it's Lebron James' player option. Think he knows this already? He's always been a smart guy, and he understands business as well as most people, and better than any NBA player I can think of. Wouldn't you know every summer he's on the Team USA roster with other top players, many of whom will be free-agents the same time as him! Everyone talks about James going to the Nets to work for his buddy Jay-Z, or New York to be on grand stage of MSG, but lets really think about this.

The King is playing along-side the top players in the country, for the greatest glory of all, world championships, olympic medals, an honor that any athlete or fan of appreciates with the utmost respect. How could James not capitalize on this opportunity to plant a couple seeds, fully knowing that unless Ferry wants to join the rising unemployment in this country, he'll be talking to the agents of the same people James is playing with and becoming ever closer freinds of. I couldn't tell you who will be on the Cavaliers at the start of the 2010/2011 season, but I can tell you Lebron James will be one of those, along with at least one fellow Olympian. Wade? Bosh? Both? Someone else? I haven't spent too much time researching this yet, but I know there is a market of unprecedented talent that will be available.

Just a footnote though, as I do want to tie this into the kings. Any player, especially artest that truly wants to play for a ring. You're nothing short of incompetant for seeking out 5-6 year extentions. If I had any dominant sought-after talent, such as maybe... defense? I sure as hell would want to be a free agent for the summer of 2010, and I would be begging at the door-step of whoever pulls off what Boston has done this past year.

So what do you guys think, who will be the next Big 3, centered by King James.
