McHale 9th place for COY?

Is it just me, or did the voters completely miss the boat on this one? Since the award is a regular season award, I can't argue against George Karl too much. He took a team with a bunch of nice role players and made them the 3 seed in the West, but how is McHale all the way down at 9th?? This coach took a team with more turnover than a lot of teams couldnt even imagine and made them a serious threat to every team in the NBA in any given night, and ultimately made the youngest team in the league play consistantly enough to make the 8 seed in a tough West. To me, that deserves a top 5 finish easily.

Just a quick note for all the uninformed "fans" I've seen here...

It's RONDE Barber! This guy is a potential hall of famer, that has brought a Super Bowl to Tampa, and has had his named in the starting line-up every game for 13 straight seasons, but some how people here still refer to him as Rhonde or some other butchering.

I think the Bucs could have played the Ravens close. I don't think we are as far away as some here believe. Flacco was every bit as maddeningly inconsistent as Freeman was up til his contract year. Guess who is in a contract year next year.

Im not saying we will win the Super Bowl, but Freeman can grow up very fast; we shore up the secondary, and everyone gets healthy, we are gonna be in it next year. Go Bucs!

Different type of competition

Here is a route that many people might not have thought about, but could be an interesting solution to an actual form of competition for Feeeman.

Trade a 2nd round pick to the Patriots for Ryan Mallet.

Let me start off by saying I am a Freeman supporter, this is plainly a hypothetical solution for the ones looking to provide competition. Also, I was not a huge fan of Mallet coming out of the draft, but he had talent for sure. I believe sitting behind Brady for a few years must have helped the part if the game he was laking between his ears.

Schiano has ties to the Pats and I believe they "owe him one" with the Talib deal. If we are willing to spend a second on Mile Glennon, I'd much rather go the Mallet route.

Who do you want to replace him? No one ever seems to ever give a real/reasonable answer to this question.

Someone please list one realistic option they want to come in and take the back up job, and challenge Freeman. If they are on a roster currently, please add the compensation you believe it would take to get said player.

QBs are hard to come by in the NFL for a reason. As a team like the Dolphins/Raiders/Browns/Jets/Bills/Chiefs/ect. can tell you, a franchise QB doesn't just show up. People clamoring to bring in Vince Young, and Jimmy Clausen forget just how awful those guys were for their teams just few years ago...
