GoVolsXtra posted an article stating that Terry Joseph had been offered the DB's position at Nebraska. Additionally it stated that he was "mulling over" the offer. Does anyone have any information on this? Is he attempting to get a raise by "mulling it over" or is it a serious possibility he could take the job. I realize that there are questions about his ability to coach in some fan's minds but I have been quite impressed with his recruiting and certainly believe that he did a good enough job considering all the injuries in the secondary and starting new players.

Well I have searched the web and looked at all the bio's on the names being tossed around for possible replacements for TN's Defensive Coordinator position and while it would probably not have the name recognition of some other guys I like what I have read about Spangler. I no longer can see TN bringing in Randy Shannon elsewise the deal would be in place, so I would like to see TN offer Spangler. He was a nominee or finalist for the Top Asst award this year and his defenses at La Tech seemed solid according to the numbers and that was facing high output offenses of similar caliber. Yes I realize it was La Tech versus non-sec competition but it seems reasonable to stand that with better players and better position coaches around him that he could be equally as successful as TN so I will say now if Dooley brings this guy from La Tech I will be a supporter of the hire. It probably won't be as popular but from what I have read it seems to pass the eye test.
