Paul Jones Commits to Penn State!
Penn State lands verbal commitment #2 for the class of 2010! It is none other than Paul "P.J." Jones! To think, Penn State has already landed most likely the #1 and #2 top players in the state of PA. WE ARE!

Secondary Exposed?
Obviously the secondary was the weak link in this game. My question is, how much of this beatdown can be attributed to the atheleticism of our corners/safeties as it can be to defensive schemes created by Tom Bradley? All i'm hearing is how bad our safeties and corners are, and how they just cant match up physically with the USC receivers. I'm not buying that so much. I really think Tom Bradley deserves the blame for this loss. I don't think Tony Davis or Lydell Sargeant should be blamed much for the debacle in the 2nd quarter, specifically because they almost never went out of Cover 3. Sanchez kept hitting his receivers on the deep slant/post routes and just putting in between the safety and the corner ALL DAY LONG. After seeing two touchdowns on the same type of play, isn't the smart thing understanding that no matter how good your secondary is, your soft zone cover 3 continues to be beat? Shouldn't we change up the defensive scheme to man for a few plays? Except for a few instances, I don't think the corners were ever really given a chance to go one on one with a receiver and show what they could do. I personally think they have the talent to have done it, but were never given a real chance. Bradley should be taking the heat for the dissection of our secondary, not so much the players. Am I wrong?

7-5 Season?
Todd Mcshay (or however you spell it) says that after the loss of Sean Lee, the 2008 Nittany Lion team would be successful if it could win SEVEN games... Call me a kool-aid drinker, but I definitely think that we can still make a run at the Big 10 title. This is what the country, or at least the top "analysts" at espn think of this team: 7-5. How messed up is that? Losing Sean Lee hurts, but i think this team can still pull it together and make something special happen. Any thoughts?

Kinlaw in '08?
Does anyone know what Kinlaw's status is for 08? From what I've read in a couple of places:
"Kinlaw applied for a sixth year of eligibility. This is normally awarded to players whose red shirt was taken because of an injury, had another season ruined by injury and graduated on time. He was deemed qualified for a sixth year by the NCAA and his application was forwarded to the awarding committee. I have not heard a peep about it in two months either way." Does anyone know of Kinlaw's status. This is type of thing tends to fly under the radar because it is not normally news worthy info. Does anyone have any info on the validity of this, or is this just bs out of the rumor-mill?

Buckeys Practice Virtual Whiteout?
So news around the buckeye blogs is that OSU is trying to prepare for Penn State using a virtual white out simulation. This is the bare minimum I'm hearing and I was wondering if anyone had any more information or just general thoughts as to what kind of threat, if any, this poses to the fans having the same effect we did in 2005? Can a penn state white out even be simulated? Does it even matter? What do you guys think?

Does This Mean Penn State Wins??
I just wanted to get some opinions from around the blogosphere about how Henne's injury will affect the Nittany Lions when they play scUM. Do you think we win handily if Henne is out as reported? Or do we still need to worry about this one being a nail-biter? I know that Joepa likes to go uber-conservative on the road, but without a seasoned veteran like C. Henne, do the lions chances of winning improved dramatically, or will the curse of scUM continue to plague the Nittany Lions? Will it really be Anthony Morelli vs. Ryan Mallet, or is Lloyd Carr pulling a "Charlie Weis" and forcing Penn State to study two quarterbacks rather than one, possibly making them less prepared for an extremely important game? Is this the year of the Nittany Lion?
