Pride Of Detroit Draft Win/Win

I don't think the Lions have ever been in a situation to capitalize in the draft like they are this year! Whatever happens I will be happy and I know Schwartz/Mayhew will be implementing their plan.

However, that doesn't mean I can't hope for one scenario.

If St. Louis takes Suh that would leave us with the ability to trade out the #2 and pick up the Browns #7, #38, and #85. This would give us 5 picks in the top 100. It would also still leave Cleveland with 8 picks so it wouldn't be "mortgaging the future."

Pride Of Detroit If Stafford fails...

I just watched the interview with Mooch and Stafford. I seriously love this guy and if it doesn't work out like it did with Joey and Andre Ware and Mitchell and Batch etc. I think I may be done with the Lions and seriously never root for another NFL franchise. I love this team. The coaches, some of the players, and the city but if Matthew doesn't work I don't know if I can do it all again. The biggest reason is the Man-Crush I have on Matthew. He is my favorite Lion since Barry and he has only played in 10 games.

I don't think this will be a failure. Schwartz is a winner, Stafford is a winner.

My question is though: Do you guys think you could deal with another rebuilding phase if this one doesn't work?

Pride Of Detroit Any chance of moving up?

I want  Ndamukong Suh so bad. It is like it was last year when I wanted Stafford. If Suh came here I would either A)Find myself caught between two man crush or B)Find myself caught up in a hardcore man crush threesome....wait nevermind the last part.

Anyways, does anyone think their is anychance we move up to 1. If St. Louis has it and they want a QB and we pick 3 with Tampa in between us. Could we jump ahead of Tampa and St. Louis could take whatever QB they judge to be the best.

Possible Trade.

Det gives up 2010 1st Rounder, 2010 2nd Rounder, and maybe Ernie and another pick.

St. Louis gives up 2010 1st Rounder.

Is this to much to give up?

Pride Of Detroit NFL Films Music

Is the music played on NFL Films not the greatest in the world. Having a bad day trying to get some last minute homework done and watched Stafford Mic'd Up to get some inspiration. The song playing when he throws the TD to Pettigrew gives me goosebumps everytime. I wonder how different my life would be if I could have had Harry Kalas narrate and the NFL Films crew play the music throughout my life.

"Watch as Doc gets out of bed. Yes it's 12:30 but in his eyes the day has just begun."

Pride Of Detroit Won't bury the Lions

I'm not going to kill the Lions for the loss against the Rams because without Calvin Johnson that offense is terrible. Imagine taking away Steven Jackson or DWade in basketball, those teams would struggle. Calvin is by FAR the #1 option of the team. He is the first read in probably 90% of the pass plays. I look at the game against Washington and the 1st three quarters of the Chicago game as the barometer of the Lions. They moved the ball offensively and struggled defensively. That is what this team is. We would have beat St. Louis and could have beaten Pittsburgh with a healthy Stafford AND Calvin. Those two are the most important players on the team and I am not going to put much into a loss against any team where those two didn't play.

Pride Of Detroit Stafford might need surgery. FML

Just saw this on NFP and its basically the worst case scenario as far as development. What really upsets me is the it wasn't like he was getting "rocked." Pass protection was rough during the Bears game but their were not many free shots. On this  play he tried to avoid a tackle and now he might miss the rest of the season. FML!!!

Pride Of Detroit Just Relax

The Lions just finished playing two teams that have been tagged by the media to be Super Bowl contenders. Look what the Saints did to the Eagles defense. That is a great team. The Vikings have a top 5 defense and maybe the best overall player in the league. They are a great team. The first 6 weeks are against 6 teams that should make the playoffs and if they don't then there season would be a disappointment. I expected the first 6 weeks to be rough and I expect Stafford to struggle but when week 8 comes around following the bye week against the Rams he will have seen basically everything that can be thrown at a QB. Blitz Heavy 4-3 (Saints) Run Stuffing Defenses (Vikes & Skins)  Cover 2 (Bears) 3-4 Blitz Heavy (Steelers & Packers). We as fans need to be patient. The Saints game we struggled to start the game, against the Vikes we played one really good half, maybe next week it is into the 4th. Constant improvment is all I am asking for and the Lions did that from Week 1 to Week 2.
