I came across this today. Mychael Urban writes about alternative long toss warm ups for pitchers. For anyone that has ever wondered why the heck Zito does a 300 foot long toss here's an explanation.

About midway down the page Nick Cafrado quote's an "MLB Spokesman", Pat Courtney as saying that teams are allowed to sign up to 9 Type A or Type B Free Agents.

There had been a little discussion concerning whether or not the Giants could continue to sign free agents as they had already signed 4. Not sure how definitive this source is but it helps to shed a little light.

Looks like the pads signed Correia to a minor league deal. Maybe we should pick up Scott Hairston to only play against him. Hairston killed Correia!
