In other good news..
We do get a chance to go up against the very "loved" Jason Allen this Sunday. Maybe its our turn NOT to be on the receiving end of his blunders. *disclosure* I was a bit of a fan of his and did believe he was messed up be the constant shifting of positions. Hopefully we can make work of the secondary that was suspect last year and well... shut down that offense
On the bright side..
- Henne looked great! 400 yards 2 TDs (with a INT at the end that did't count)
- Brandon Marshall is still a beast! As is Bush!
- Wake looked good towards the end
- No ST miscues
- Smith and Davis for the most part shutdown their respective receivers!
Observation of Fields
I went to my first Dolphins game in years in Tampa this past weekend and I got to notice the size of the players, most notably Fields.. I was sitting behind the endzone and when I saw him get out to punt, my thoughts were, "Holy ___, this guy is HUGE, he's built like a linebacker". Just wanted to make a point
Safeties both SS & FS
I was thinking, if both Clemons and Jones step it up this year.. what are the chances that YB stays next year? Clemons is faster at FS and Jones is naturally a SS and drafted as the assumed replacement for YB, so this may be his last year I think. You?
Offense, Defense, Special Teams
So we've been hearing how the Defense is practicing really well and looking top 5 or even top 3. The offense seems to be looking better and a lot less pedestrian than last year. But, what about the special teams? My worry has shifted to that since ST looked HORRIBLE last year. Any news of the unit?
D-Line Nickname?
Just an idea but, I think we should come up with a nickname for our D-Line. You know, how the Steelers had the Steel Curtain or the Vikings had the Purple People Eaters. Aqua Tide? idk.. lol. yes? no? ideas?
My 2 cents
Well it's obvious that Henning and lee need to go and possibly TS. My though for QB coach who would be better than our very own Pennington. As far as OC, that all depends who is head coach. I'm not knocking on TS because he reminds me a bit of Coughlin and can hopefully learn from him. So maybe TS if he changes bit maybe Fisher seems the other likely candidate. As far as QB? I like orton for a year and draft a C in the first.

A little known G named Dimitri Tsoumpas.
Most of us are wondering why they would trade Smiley and are kind of upset that they are trying to. I'm one of them.
Yes, he is oft-injured and hasn't played a full season with us yet. This got me thinking that the FO wouldn't make a move like this unless they had a player that could fill the role.
In comes Incognito but, I would expect him to take either Guard spot leaving one open. Thomas is good but doesn't have the motor and Garner is versatile but maybe not a starter and then a lightbulb went off and BAM! Thought to our CFL imports!
Belw is what I found on Tsoumpas (zoom-pus) from the Calgarie Stampedes.

What they've done is asign a person a team and write down post by post who they draft and why, what the teams needs are and basic philosophy.
they seemed to have hit us pretty dead on and as a team that has been coached under Tuna, they provide a perspective like ours.
Ive looked through a couple and it all seems pretty accurate. its worth a look for our team atleast.

Possible FS through Trade

The Buffalo Bills very own Donte Whitner is on the trading blocks since Jarius Byrd has done so well filling the FS spot for the Bills. He isn't bad its just the Bills have a less than average D line so the secondary isn't helped there.
Since we passed on Antrel Rolle and Ryan Clark who both are good respectively but one would have been too much and the other just wanted to stay in Pitt, this seems like a very possible option.

I want to start off by saying that today was a good free agency day for the Fins. We signed Karlos Dansby which everyone was hoping for and Chad Pennington who is now considered a Dolphin and no longer a Jet (to me anyway).
And we cut some dead weight (Porter), under performers (Ayodele), and disappointment (Wilson). Now we need to look on to the rest of the positions with needs: NT, OLB, WR, and FS. Thats for another day.

Ok, so I was over at the Pats blog looking around and some believe that the FO is wlling to let Wilfork walk. They seem to point out Vrabel, Seymour, McGinest, and Bruschi as examples of older players and not handing out contracts

If there were two people I missed the most this past season it would have to be FS Renaldo Hill and TE David Martin.
Its too bad we got rid of Hill and replaced him with... well you know. But we still have a chance with Martin.
I know he got a big groin injury last offseason that kept him out the whole season, but its been a year.. can't we get him back? I would like to think that if we did and he was healthy, we would have a TE problem. Fasano and Martin worked wonders for us in 2008 with Haynos as back-up.
So I say we get back Martin, if he's healthy...cuz i really missed him :(
oh yeah, foot note.... what the hell did we get for Alleman and Ndukwe?.. I stumbled across the KC Chiefs blog and they were wondering the same thing and seemed kinda pissed they traded a pick for two shitty linemen lol
