Kings Idea Is Trash

Alright guys, Matty and Peter, no offense, but Peter Kings idea on throwing the ball 40 times to loosen up the Wildcat, will not work.

Do you guys remember last week when we lost to the Saints? Sure you do. Well, what was the reason we lost? That reason was that we passed the ball way too much. In the first half, we did not pass the ball 20 times, no, we ran the ball the majority of the time, and look where it got us, a 24-3 lead at one point, and 24-10 at half.

Throwing the ball is not what this team is built to be, and any buffoon who knows football could tell you that.

If the Dolphins pass the ball more than they should in tomorrows game, they will not get close to winning. Passing the ball will get us nowhere in fact, it only increases the chances of us attracting more and more 3rd and longs, which will draw various creative "jailhouse" blitzes.

So no, passing the ball will get us nowhere against the Jets. We would be stupid if we did not take advantage of the injury to Kris Jenkins. This is something we need to recognize, and run the ball down the Jets throats.

Does anybody agree with me on this? Matty?

Dolphins Waive Shawn Murphy

The Dolphins have just waived backup guard Shawn Murphy! This comes as a huge surprise to me as they are seriously lacking depth now at the offensive line position! With the trade deadline already gone, they will have to pick up somebody else to fill the void!

that i wanted the Dolphins to trade for Bowe, but I also did not want to break the bank for him. I believe that we are far from a finished product, and that waiting to get some talented wide receiver in the draft may take time, and time is not what we have on our side right now. Ronnie is a couple years away from 30.. Peezy is getting very old.. and yeremiah bell and will allen are not getting any younger either. So this leads to my terminology.. it normally takes receivers multiple years to finally "get" it. Multiple years is not what we have. We need a guy that is proven, and Bowe is that guy. We would not have to give him a huge contract, and he is getting paid the minimum amount right now. I would not trade a 1st for him, but I would trade a 2nd, a 6th, and Ted Ginn for Bowe and a 6th. This trade seems reasonable, and to stand pat at the deadline says to me that the Dolphins are comfortable where they are at right now. This is fine with me, because it spells that the Trifecta is comfortable with the guys that they have, but at the same time, you have to wonder about who we could have gotten to help us out this week against the Saints high powered team.

I'm perfectly happy with the Dolphins going out and making an impact in free-agency, but when you have a chance like they did this year before the trade deadline, where they could have traded almost nothing for Braylon Edwards, or even possibly gotten Bowe, it just comes as a disappointment to a fan like me, who just wants to see the Dolphins succeed and do everything they can to win.

I understand that they are keeping the future in mind, and that will pay off in the long run, but with some of our star players time running out, they might not be around to help out with the "future".

Primtime Receiver Time?

The 49ers had Jerry Rice, the Cowboys had Michael Irvin, the Broncos had Shannon Sharpe, Rod Smith, and Ed McCaffery, the Dolphins had Paul Warfield, and so on.

The bottomline is that a good team that wants to become part of NFL lore has had a great receiver, or multiple "good" receivers and tight ends. Oh, did I mention that these weapons compliment each other well, and not just have the same abilities?

We saw what happened last night. The Dolphins cannot trust Ted Ginn as their number one receiver. They also can't trust Greg Camarillo and Davone Bess either. If you have a true, proven number one receiver on the Dolphins squad, maybe you get the win last night on national television.

It just so happens that there might be a possibility of some top end receivers being available. What would you say if the Dolphins were to acquire one of these guys?

The guys that I am thinking of are Anquan Boldin, Brandon Marshall, and Dwayne Bowe. I have heard rumors on all of these guys, and some of them might not make as much sense as the other, but hear me out.

Boldin: I basically would give up a 2nd and a 4th for this guy. Not only would he solidify the receiving corps this year, and give us the proven, bigtime threat that we desperately need, but he would provide a true weapon for Chad Henne to utilize in the future, and make the growing pains of becoming a top-tier franchise quarterback a lot smoother. Bolding would be worth the cost, and I would make this trade in a heartbeat. The only downside is that he is older than the Trifecta usually likes their players so.......

Marshall: I would be fine with Marshall over Boldin in this situation. Despite all of the problems that he has had over in Denver, that all is a result of him wanting a new contract. If the Dolphins were to give him a new contract, which would probably be cheaper than Boldin, you would think that all of the attitude issues would be gone. Marshall may be cheaper because of his attitude problems over there. Who knows, we might be able to get him for around the same price that the Pats got Randy Moss for. Marshall is almost on the level of Boldin, you just have to give him a couple more years. He is a physical presence, and would make an impact on the offensive side of the ball for years to come.

Bowe: This one I'm not so sure about because Bowe is not yet a top-tier receiver. But give Bowe time, and he is sure to produce. You also have to give Bowe a top end quarterback, and he might also post better stats as well. Bowe is around the same age as Marshall, so I would try to get Marshall over Bowe. This trade makes sense because the general manager of the Chiefs, Scott Pioli, is related to Bill Parcells.

I would be happy getting any of these guys, but my number one choice would be Marshall. This guy is the real deal, and he is younger than 27! Bolding is on the other side of 30, and only has a couple more years left in his prime. Bowe is not yet where I would like him to be if I were to trade some considerable draft picks for him. The bottomline is that we need a tall, physical receiver that can tear up defenses, and all of these guys fit the bill.

Dolphins Down to 66 Players

The Dolphins are now down to 66 players after waiving Anthony Armstron, Connor Barth, and Louis Ellis. Joe Kowalewski was injured/waived as well.

The Dolphins are cutting players left and right now, and nobody is safe. It looks like Brandon London will make the team now that Armstrong was cut, but you never know. Look for Ellis to make the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Barth getting cut means that Dan Carpenter has won the kicking competition between the two. It looked pretty even to me but Carpenter had the edge, and looks to have a little ore leg strength.

Who will be the next to get cut for the Fins in their quest to get down to 53 players, and will the Dolphins trade anybody in the upcoming days? I'm looking for Lex Hilliard to get traded down the stretch, possibly after the last pre-season game.

Ike Ndukwe Traded to Chiefs!

Earlier I wrote that guard Andy Alleman was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs for a second day draft pick in 2010.

Well, Jeff Darlington is reporting that Ike Ndukwe has been traded in the same deal as well! The Dolphins now have 11 lineman on the roster, and have traded two key parts to the offensive line last year. I wonder why they traded Ndukwe? He was not great, but he was not bad. Can anybody add some insight on the trade?

Alleman Traded to Chiefs

Mike Berardino is reporting that backup guard Andy Alleman was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs early this morning. Even though the details are not yet available, this move weakens the depth of the offensive line.

Alleman was a key backup for us last year when he came in and filled the spot of Justin Smiley. The Dolphins have 3 spots available to add some people to the roster before they cut back to 75. The Dolphins currently have 72 players on the roster.

Dolphins to go After Another Cornerback?

I saw this last night and thought it was rather interesting.

According to Armando Salguero, he thinks that the release of Eric Green is not just a leap of faith in our rookie cornerbacks.

He thinks that the Trifecta plans on going after one of the other free agent corners who they believe will be an upgrade over Green.

While the release of Green was stunning, the Dolphins now have to create some decent competition for Sean Smith, the favorite to win the starting job. Vontae Davis nowhere near where Smith is at right now, so going after a guy like Mike McKenzie, Aaron Glenn, Patrick Surtain, and Sam Madison!

What do you think about this? Most of if not all would instantly be one of the oldest players on the Dolphins team, and wouldn't that be against the Dolphins religion?

Marcus Fitzgerald a Possible 49er Receiver?
