Composite Mock - Who Will be Available at 14?
The mock drafts are coming out a fast furious pace, and other than an across the board agreement that Luck will be the first person chosen, there is not a lot of consensus from number 2 on down. In the table below, I am trying to use the wisdom of the masses to get a rough approximation of the probability that certain players will be available to Dallas at pick 14. Obviously, this will be an evolving assessment as we go through free agency, player pro days, team invites, etc., so if there is interest I will try to update this chart and re-publish every so often.
A note on the methodology - I took the CBS Big Board ranking of players to create an initial table and then added the selections of 13 different mockers in subsequent columns. I then filtered out any player that was not selected in at least 5 of the 13 mock drafts. To create an average draft position (ADP), I just took an average across all the mocks, but assigned a value of 35 if the player did not show up for any of the mock drafters. The table is sorted by this ADP. Finally, I added a column to focus this on the 14th pick - i.e., what percentage of the mocks had the player available at pick 14.

Trade for McQ
Hard to believe that the Cowboys would get anything for him, but it looks to be true
A big thanks to Dave, Aaron, Rafael, and OCC
The quality and diversity of the coverage of the Cowboys from the end of the playoffs until the draft has been amazing.
I was a big fan of Rafael and Raul's blog before they joined forces with BTB, and was skeptical that it would be as good as the previous version, but I have been pleasantly surprised. I can see from the effort of the past 3+ months that Rafael has stepped up his game with an insightful 26 part series on the draft, plus mocks, plus all the other articles.
Aaron and Dave do a nice job with other interesting articles and VRRs to keep us all up to date with the daily happenings.
And the best new set of features are coming from OCC - the level of the analysis is mind-blowing. So much better than the effort put out by paid journalists and any other blog I have seen on SB Nation.
I remember back in the mid-90's I used to pay an annual fee for an e-mail newsletter produced by Skip Bayless 3 times a week (and less frequent in the off-season). It was nothing compared to the content on this blog, but I was starved for Cowboys news (must have been to listen to what Skip had to say).
If I was willing to pay $100 a year for that newsletter, I think it is time to click on that Donate link to ensure we get to see the training camp coverage later this summer.
Again, thanks for the effort you guys make. Even with baseball in season, and playoffs for basketball and hockey, I spend a lot more time on BTB for off-season Cowboys news and analysis than I do paying attention to any of those other minor distraction.

The last time the Cowboys played a Favre-led team
The Cowboys last played against Favre in Week 13 of 2007 when he was with the Green Bay Packers - and it was a game that he would like to forget. Both teams came into the game at 10-1, so it was a highly anticipated matchup.
The game started out pretty competitively in the 1st Quarter, but the Dallas pressure got to Favre in the 2nd with multiple sacks and two interceptions - both of which led to touchdowns. Favre was knocked out of the game after going 5-14 for 56 yards and two picks. He was sacked 3 times - once by Ware and twice by Greg Ellis.
It is very possible that this game spelled the end for Bret in Green Bay, because Aaron Rogers came in and led the Pack on several scoring drives to make the game competitive again. The Cowboys won 37-27, but it would not have been close if Favre had stayed in the game.
Flash Forward to this weekend. Even though the personnel are completely different, Dallas should be able to bring the same kind of pressure on Favre, plus the Cowboys secondary is better now than in 2007 and coverages should make Favre hold onto the ball long enough to make Ware, Raitliff, and Spencer salivate.
