Arrowhead Pride Richard Seymour to KC???

I'm sure many of you like me read the profootballtalk.com article this morning about Richard Seymour(http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/12/seymour-would-consider-31-teams/) heading into free agency this off season. With that floating around in my head and the fact that I did not want to work at all today I began to day dream about a Chiefs defense with Richard Seymour playing the end.

Do you guys think this is a move that Pioli and Hailey would make?

I know they want to build with young players that buy into "the program" but to add a guy with all of his experience and talent would be a very solid move for this team.

The only downside is that Jackson or Dorsey must goto the bench (Jackson should go in my opinion but whatever). I think that Dorsey showed he can play DE in a 3-4 and play at a high level. I think that Jackson got pushed around but he will grow in his second year just as Dorsey did but benching him or putting him on a rotation may stunt his growth which could turn him into a wasted draft pick (many of you probably its to late for that LOL). But more so then all of these points can you really have a guy sitting on the bench who is one of your highest paid players? Even if Dorsey goes to the bench with a Seymour signing he's a very highly paid player as well.

Whatever happens this offseason will be very interesting so strap on your seat belt and enjoy the ride!!!

Arrowhead Pride Branden Albert is OUT!!!

I just saw Branden Albert at the NBA game tonight and he is DEF not playing Sunday.

I saw Albert as he walk (limped) into the sprint center went up to him and wished him well with the injury and he said "man I really don't wanna even think about football" he talked to my son for a bit complimented me on my throwback Michael Jordan jersey and began to walk to his seats.

As he limped in and limped off to his seat you could clearly see that he is not well and was walking very gingerly, I'm no doctor but I don't see how he can put enough wet on that foot to block anyone let alone a speed rusher.

Another note I thought the great Fans of Pride should know is that Albert lost way too much weight in the off season and I think that def. has effected his play. I ran into him last year and he was much bigger tonight he was really lean, I mean if I didn't know any better I would think he was the back up small forward for the heat not a starting left tackle in the NFL.

Albert is a class act, great guy who talked to a ton of kids and fans but that foot does not look good at all...Lets pray that the highway is closed on the leftside this Sunday..

Arrowhead Pride firetodd.com

I'm pissed just a warning..

I'm about to give you three reasons why Todd Hailey should be fired.

Reason 1. Todd thinks his The Tuna only problem is Parcells has won super bowls and this guy was the OC of a team that got hot in the playoffs and made it to the super only to loose before that he has been a gofer/assistant/ WR coach. He has no football background the freaking guy played Golf in college I don't care if his father is a great scout that dosent't mean his father would be a great coach.

Reason 2. He's full of himself or something else :(

Todd preached all of season about bringing in smart players who he can teach and train is that why a guy you brought in let a punt bounce into the endzone that could have been downed on the 5yrd line or is that why ur QB threw an out pass with 7secs left in the half with no timeouts when the player was surrounded and not close to the sideliness??

Reason 3.

Todd Ladies and gentlemen is a fraud, a rich prep whos fathers connections got him a gob in the league and he's run with his chance. Todd grew up in a very affluent area, didn't play college football no hard struggles in life nothing to build character so he steals his from Parcells. He's not some tough SOB he should be a gold instructor out at Robin Nigros.Todd is fake and the players know it thats why they pay him no attention the think he's full of it and has never accomplished anything. I mean come on which one of you on reading this now could not have taken the cardinals team last year and made them a #1 offense with Larry Fitzgerald and Boldin???

Candidates

1. Bill Cowher

2. Tony Severino,

3.Kelly Donohoe

4.Gary Pinkel

5. BF Mark Mangino

6. My grandmother (because she thought his playing calling sucked)!!!

Arrowhead Pride Is This Still A Football Town??

I have noticed that on 810 & 610 sports radio the air waves are dominated with Royals talk.

Now don't get me wrong I love the Royals and the New K is simply amazing but we are in the middle of our first many camp with a new head coach and Carl has finally been kicked out of the castle.
WHAT GIVES?

Has the last two seasons of Herm/Carl ball killed the excitment that this city once had for its beloved chiefs or is this town in love with a baseball team that is showing life for only the second time in 24years???

I guess we will know in the fall..

Arrowhead Pride From Worse 2 First!!!

From worst to first in no other major sport in America do we see teams go from worst to first faster then the NFL. Think about it if I told you in Sept. 1999 that the St. Louis Rams would win the super bowl that year you would call me crazy or last August if someone told you to bet your mortgage that the Dolphins would win the AFC East you would probably have them drug tested but it happens year after year.

What causes such drastic turnarounds and how can our Beloved Chiefs become the story of the 2009 season? Easy get a QB!! Oh yea we got one (This is the part were you say YESSSS). For the first time in about 38 years the Chiefs have a young franchise quarterback who has all of the tools to be a great QB in this league. The difference from the 07 Dolphins to the 08 Dolphins was the consistent play at quarterback, look at the Rams in 99 with the play of Warner or even the play of the Rookie QB Matt Ryan in Atlanta.

The Chiefs have completed the most important part of the worse to first process now the second part seems to always involve a BIG TIME impact player. With the Rams it was Marshall Falk, the Dolphins had Ted Ginn Jr. & Ronnie Brown (returning from injury) and the 08 Falcons had the beast of a man named Michael Turner. The Chiefs have a few players at skill positions that can play on a Pro Bowl level but will they?

Dwayne Bowe has a lot of talent and I think everyone could see that after the first few weeks of his rookie season, the only problem is he didn’t improve from his first to second year, he still caught the ball with his body, mistimed jumps and failed to get open at key points all problems that should have been corrected after year one. Todd Hailey will push Bowe as far as he will go but its going to be up to Bowe to learn the game and play at a higher level.

Larry Johnson, perhaps the biggest question mark of the off-season but now I think we know the answer to the million dollar question; Larry will be a Chief (if he doesn’t mess up). Scott Pioli knows the importance of a strong running back as does Hailey but they are both no-nonsense types of guys so Larry is on a one strike and your out plan, can he do it? Many in this city believe Larry is done and has been since he signed that contract and I could not disagree more. Larry still has a lot of tread on those tires, don’t forget Larry sat on the bench for two years. When the hole is there Larry is still a beast but too often over the last two years Larry has been greeted in the backfield by defenders, something that didn’t happen when he played behind two HOF. When Larry can get to the line or second level he is still one of the most dangerous backs in the league, just ask the Broncos and Falcons but when he is confronted in the back field he can never get his legs going.

Other then the two players listed above I don’t see a guy on the roster today who can be a big playmaker. I know a lot of you will tell me about Jamal Charles but let me be clear Jamal Charles is an undersized RB who in is heart is a track star not a football player. Charles is often hurt and not a “PIOLI GUY” Meaning he is not big and strong just fast.

So where does this leave our KC Chiefs can they become a worst to first story, will the red sea rise this season? The answer is YES with the additions of veterans to the offensive line with the maturation of Brandon Alberts the chiefs have the tools to protect Cassel and open running lanes for LJ. Now I don’t think the Chiefs are going to the super bowl but 10 games is not out of this teams reach, we sat at Arrowhead or on the couch and watched this team loose 7 games by a touchdown or less and that was with a God Awful O-line and a third string QB.

It will be interesting to see what happens with our Chiefs and when the National media comes running in to do Chiefs specials you can always say that SouthSide D told you so way back in May…

Arrowhead Pride Whats Next For Dorsey?

As a 6’1 315lb DE in a 3-4 defense I see Glen Dorsey becoming one of the biggest draft bust in Chiefs histosry, which is littered with draft bust (far too many to name).  But If Dorsey can become a 6’1 330lb NT who can use his speed, athletisim and strength to command the middle of the NFL’s newest 3-4 defense.

To be totally honest I don’t know Glen Dorsey’s true weight and apparently no one knows because web sites including the chiefs have him listed any where between 308-320lbs which tells me that getting up to 320 shouldn’t be a problem (he can always hangout with me for a few meals).

I think Dorsey knows that he can’t play DE in this defense and I also think Todd Haliey knows that as well which is why they are both going around blowing smoke up the media’s ass saying he’s going to be a DE.

Trust me when I say this, on opening day in Sept Glen Dorsey will be the starting Nose Tackle for the Chiefs and he will weight 320-330LB. Glen Dorsey is the most talented DT the chiefs have and like all players he has the ability to gain weight so that he can be a commanding force in the middle. Outside of transforming Dorsey into a NT the chiefs don’t have many options with him, trading a top 5 pick who only had one sack in his rookie season is hard, not only does he have a high cap number but teams will be unsure of the return.

I know many people on AP have gone back in forth about Dorsey in the last four months but one think we can say about the guy, he gave 100% on every play always running to the ball and he was prob. Playing out of position. I think that with the proper weight traininig and coaching Dorsey and be the next Casey Hampton but if they put him at DE he will be the next Junior Savia..

Arrowhead Pride King Carl Vs. Pioli

Take a moment and think, what if King Carl had made all the moves that Scott Pioli has made up till this point in the off season?

Would you still be in favor of the moves?

I was recently thinking about a "what If" scenario in which Carl was never fired but he fired Herm, brought in an unproven head coach, traded away a hall of fame TE, traded a 2nd round pick for a starting QB & LB, singed some cast offs at LB, WR, CB and OL. All the while being more then 30mil. Under the salary cap.

In my opinion Pioli has gotten a free ride up until this point because he is the new guy in town, he treats the local media like step children and disrespects team leaders (Brain Waters). I have a feeling that if Carl were at the helm of this ship fans would be burning down that pretty new office building due to the lack of moves and arogance.

Lets not forget Pioli has never won without Bill and Haliey has never been a head coach & only called plays for one season. The one season Haliey called plays the Cardinals had argubly the two best recievers in the league and the worst running game.

Am I saying that I disagree with the hiring of Pioli No not at all I think he is one of the best young minds in the game but I don't want fans to become blinded to the facts just because he ISN'T CARL.

We have dreamed of the day that carl was kicked out of that office and his trench coats burned and now that we have seen that day come & go we are stuck with a guy who is just as arrogant as Carl but unlike the "King" Pioli has shown that he can find young talent.

As I said when the Roayls hired Dayton Moore "pray for the best but expect the worse and we will probally fall in between."

Arrowhead Pride Chase Daniel To Sign With Washington

Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel will sign a free-agent contract with the Washington Redskins, Daniel said Sunday night.

“I leave Thursday to go out for minicamp,” Daniel said. “(Redskins assistant) Chris Meidt was the guy that worked me out at the combine, and he really liked me. I talked to (head) coach (Jim) Zorn a couple of times. I’m excited about the opportunity they presented.”

The Redskins list three quarterbacks on their roster: Starter Jason Campbell, veteran backup Todd Collins and second-year player Colt Brennan. “They have three quarterbacks, and any three can make the team,” Daniel said. “I’m excited about what’s going to happen.”

Arrowhead Pride LJ To The Saints!!!

Since we all seem to be in LJ mode allow me to sprinkle in my two cents before MIZZOU advances to the final four.

It's clear that Larry has had enough of Kansas City and the women of Kansas City have had enough of him so where is the win win situation?

The New Orleans Saints is the perfect destination for Larry and could prove to be for the Chiefs as well. The Saints don't have a 2nd or 3rd round pick due to trades they have made the last few years but a 4th round pick with a conditional 2nd or 3rd in the 2010 draft based on LJ's stats could be a great victory for the Chiefs.

On the Saints end LJ in a backfield with Reggie Bush and Drew Brees would put them in a league of their own on the ofensive side of the ball. Sean Payton is a great offensive coach and he always finds away to get Bush the ball in open space but with a bull dog like larry in the backfield they could duplicate the sucsess they found in his first season where a Healthy Duce & Reggie ran all the way to the NFC Championship game.

Although LJ has shown that when a hole is open he can still put up big number (Atlanta & Denver games from "08) his off the field issues and attitude has almost forced the Chiefs hands so if they can walk away with a 4 and possible 2 I think thats a win win...

Arrowhead Pride Pioli Leaving A Mess

Apparently Scott Pioli has amazing timing because he has left the Patriots one season before things look like they may blow up!!!

According to the Boston Globe The Patriots have 21 scheduled free agents in 2010 and in 2009 have over 29 million tied up in two quarterbacks.

per the Globe, the Patriots have $10.5 million in cap space devoted to wide receiver Randy Moss, $9.79 million to defensive end Richard Seymour, linebacker Adalius Thomas’ $6.4 million and the quarterbacks’ cap impact and it’s roughly $56 million or nearly half the salary cap spent on five players.

And the Patriots’ 2010 free agent class will be extremely hard to retain.

It’s a distinguished group that includes, Vince Wilfork, offensive guards Logan Mankins and Stephen Neal, Seymour and Jarvis Green, tight ends Benjamin Watson and David Thomas, linebackers Tedy Bruschi and Mike Vrabel, running back Kevin Faulk, placekicker Stephen Gostkowski, and cornerback Ellis Hobbs.

Even if 2010 is uncapped the Patriots will be breaking the bank just to keep half of their starters and a great deal of them are old… so IMO it looks like Pioli may have saw the writing on the wall.

Arrowhead Pride Jason Whitlock Calls Nick Athan a "ASS CLOWN"

I’ve known Nick Athan of Warpaint Illustrated for several years, and I’ve never regarded him as a questionable source of Chiefs news.

But that might be a result of the fact that I don’t pay much attention to the Chiefs.

With Athan’s report that Chiefs owner Clark Hunt recently said that the team has complied with the Rooney Rule when in fact Hunt never has said any such thing, we’ve now got serious concerns.

Our concerns became even more pointed upon receiving moments ago the following IM from Jason Whitlock: “LEAVE NICK ATHAN ALONE. . . total assclown. ASSCLOWN.”

(You know, Whitlock’s career would really take off if he’d quit being so damned wishy-washy about his opinions.)

“[F]eel free to quote me by name,” Whitlock said, “belittling you for even responding to that assclown’s e-mail. [H]e’s the guy who sent NFL [N]etwork an e-mail saying the [C]hiefs’ deal for [S]hanahan was DONE and that [S]chefter was wrong. [A]than is an assclown.”

Whitlock’s opinions regarding Athan’s are Whitlock’s alone, primarily since I’ve never been able to identify a consensus definition of the term “assclown.”

That said, Whitlock has never steered me wrong in the past, so I probably will be heeding his advice.

Arrowhead Pride What’s The Hold Up!!

Answer this question for me Chiefs Nation; Why does Herm still have a job?

The NFL post season will not resume for two weeks so you don’t have to worry about stealing the spotlight from two very deserving teams.

After almost a week I’m sure Scott Pioli has found time in between Gates BBQ runs on 40 highway to interview Herm.

After 30 seconds with Herm I’m sure Pioli could see that Herm would not fit into the “Patriot way” of doing things so why is he still here?

Did Pioli take this job with out full control over his head coach?

Will Scott Pioli have to go through his first full season with a lame duck coach?

I don’t believe Pioli took this job without assurances from Clark Hunt that he could fire Herm if and when he wanted…

“If and when he wanted” that’s a very interesting statement and I have heard it on almost every sports talk radio show. What sticks out to me there is the word WHEN.

Perhaps Pioli does like Bill Cowher and knows that Cowher wants another year to recharge the batteries. If you are Scott Pioli do you wait out the year with Herm or do you hire a guy who in your mind is your second or third option? Perhaps Pioli like Clark Hunt over the last few weeks knows exactly what he’s doing.

I just pray he knows what he's doing...

Arrowhead Pride Meet The New England Coaches!!!

http://www.patriots.com/team/index.cfm?ac=coaches

Here is a link to a list of potential coaches..

I personally think that Don Capers or Dante Scarnecchia would be a good fit to join Pioli in his attempt to make the Chiefs a title contender. It will be interesting to see who he brings in but the thought that all the good candidates are gone is simply not true.

So who do you like on the list?
