Music anyone? Swinging On A Star, Bing Crosby was a pretty nice fit for all the posts tonight/last night.

The soundtrack to Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man just blows my hair back, what's left anyway. Especially Martha Wainwright's lovely cover of Tower of Song, heartbreaking rendition.

Plus Desert Rose Band's album Traditional is one of my favorites. The song The Price I Pay has a nice kick, with lyrics and backing vocals by Emmylou Harris. I'm no music expert but in my opinion she's terrific in everything she does, and you'd have to fight me to change my mind.

Here's my disclaimer, my mornings are tied up 6 ways to Sunday. So I can post an OT really late the night before, or not at all. Best I can do. Usually headlines are my target, but due to the holiday season I've been avoiding the "news" even more than usual.

I love scavenger hunts. There's probably a bazillion versions online, but the new Google street view function kind of opened up an idea. Find the object, post the location and direction to rotate. For instance, person in a wheelchair. 1118 Summit Ave, Seattle, WA, rotate SSE. It's sort of problematic if you go to the wrong spot, as the people can move from one frame to the next, or the day can change if you turn a corner. I think this could be a lot of fun, but then again it could be completely retarded and a total drag. Perhaps there should be some rules, or some kind of structure. Like a point system based on location of the find, something like that. If the LL community can divide the west coast and creat the NRC vs. PRC conflict, then I'm certain some structure for a scavenger hunt is child play. Or just ignore it as my 75 word filler, and let the chatting proceed.

Things to look for:

Cows, kids playing ball, fire trucks, cop car pulling someone over, house most likely to be a haunted house, person in a mariners jersey, house on fire (at least smoking), people in a boat, person fishing, person most likely a douchebag, giant clock, car with a mattress on the roof, homeless person (just to help out esoteric), famous people (bonus for M's*), people having sex, nude person(s), mail truck on a tow truck*, deer (bonus if it's on a truck), wedding, funeral procession, anymore ideas?

*Too awesome not to add to the list, despite being random finds.

Also, it would be kind of strange to have all the notable happening or people around town eventually tagged, or marked. Madonna? 555 Hollywood Blv., NW, or something like that.

OTFP: 11/6/08 The Holiday Season has arrived!

Every year between Halloween and New Year's, I want to crawl under a rock and hide. Between the long dark days, the seemingly endless west side rain, trees laid bare, family commitments nipping at my heels, finding that perfect gift- there are days you just want to buy a ticket to Someplace Else, my favorite destination. So on that cheerful note, have at it!

The news is nothing but NFL roster shuffling, and political post orgasmic wanking. So my usual plan of lame links is even more lame.

When animals attack! Some people handle weird situations better than others, but how did you get there in the first place? Best reason not to be a jogger I've heard yet.

You can make this stuff up, but when people do it for real it's so much funnier.

Didn't Gonzo shoot chickens out of a cannon? Anybody think his chicken fetish was kinda strange?

Soup kitchen is open! Let the Second Great Depression begin!

Last nights game was something. The umpires could have called it before it was declared an official game. Selig was in attendance and could have taken charge. Undoubtably there have been and will be many many words written and spoken about last nights game, so why am I even bringing it up? Oh, 75 words, plus I really really want to rant about it, but I would probably only manage a big pile of stupid. So I'm biting my tongue. Hard.

Nobody says get off my lawn like Clint Eastwood. Dirty Harry Needs A Rest Home.

Best argument for instant replay, bad umpires in the post season. Joe Buck tells me an ump can't work a World Series two years in a row, or back to back post season series. So you get this.

Lot of talk lately about the most hated team. The big bad wolf. The evil empire. Talk is talk, lets put it to the LL community and settle this thing.
