The Washington Wizards have acquired Minnesota Timberwolves Randy Foye and Mike Miller in exchange for Etan Thomas, Oleksiy Pecherov and Darius Songaila and the fifth overall pick in Thursday’s NBA draft, a league executive with knowledge of the deal told Yahoo! Sports.

My take:

This def hurts our chances for tradin Amare......I think its a must we trade Amare. No one is gonna give us good value by next years trade deadline for a guy who will be a free agent in the coming months. This was one of our best chances to trade Amare for some real value. Lets hope something happens in the next few days

The Phinsider Pats take shot at fins(14-2)

Wow...this guys from the Boston really think highly of themselves. I just finished reading this article from the Eagle Tribune and they predict the Pats will go 14-2. There two loses against the stinky jets and saints...???Really??? Here is what this guy had to say about the 2 matchups against the Dolphins

Nov. 8 vs. Miami, 1 p.m. — Ahhh!!! It's the attack of the "Wildcat" offense. Run for your lives. Or not. Pats welcome the fish to a chilly Gillette and unceremoniously thump Chad Pennington repeatedly. He has no time to find receivers as the newly youth-infused Pats linebacking corps has old noodle-arm running for his life. Brady hits the halfway point with 30 TD passes, and nobody notices the lack of a running game with New England now 7-1.

Now here is what he says about the Sunday Night prime time game:

Dec. 6 at Miami, 8:20 p.m. — Don't be surprised if this one is moved by the NFL's flex scheduling to 1 p.m. due to the nation's lack of interest. There is no Miami magic in '09, just a trip back to the land of double-digit losses. New England helps pave the way and locks up the AFC East in the process at 10-2.

I doubt there "young-infused" linebackers will terrorize CP10. What do you guys think??? F the Pats right..?? My first thought too.

The Phinsider Pete Carroll denying rumors

Our friends over at College Football Talk have relayed us their latest update on the steroid rumors surrounding USC linebackers Clay Matthews and Brian Cushing.

USC coach Pete Carroll has denounced a report from NFL Draft Bible, a Web site which claims that Matthews and Cushing tested positive for steroids at the NFL scouting combine.

Carroll’s denial follows Matthews’ agent refuting the report earlier today when he released an e-mail to us that he sent to NFL Draft Bible where he advised them to "govern themselves accordingly."

Posting on the official USC football blog, Carroll was emphatic in shooting down the report.

"These rumors are absolutely false," said Carroll, adding that the NFL testing service informed him that both players didn’t test positive. "If they were found positive, Clay and Cush would have been notified three weeks ago, which they weren’t, and all of the NFL teams would have been notified too, which they weren’t.

"They’re both men of outstanding character and they never tested positive for anything here. This is an [sic] major example of irresponsible reporting, and the site that published this report should be ashamed of themselves."

With that said who are we to believe? I gotta lean towards Carroll on this one. I think Clay is gonna be a great player in this league and I hope this drops him down in the draft because his stock has been soaring...especially comin off that 4.57. What do you guys think

The Phinsider TO a Patriot????

This would be the move i could the pats making....seriously can you imagine....they would have the scarest 3 wide reciever set in the nfl. Tom Brady would make it work for a number of reasons.

1. If TO started to act like well TO... then he would be released. I think brady is one of the only players in the nfl  to have the power for a player to be  released

2.I think Bill would have that type of influence that all the other coaches failed to reach with TO. The question would be can TO and Moss co-exist. I think that the veterans on the pats would make it work. As a phins fan I hope not.

3.Bill was able to make randy work...why not TO? Besides all of the obivous reasons.

Final Thoughts

While I would hate for this move to happen we as phin fans have to accept that this is a reality. TO wants a ring as do the entire Patriots organization. As Matty pointed out earler TO to miami is almost 99.999% for sure hellll noo. I maybe one of the few fans who would love to see TO in a dolphin jersey because I think Big Tony would be able to handle TO's antics. Either way lets pray this doesn't happen and if it does lets all put some money into vegas that the patriots reach the superbowl. Believe me I  hate the pats more than any other sports team but if Tom Brady has those three weapons in Moss,Owens, and Welker then its gonna be a long season for everybody who plays the pats....especially if they play them twice. Your thought????

The Phinsider Looking into the draft....

With free agency all but passed it's time we talk more draft. Im sure the dolphins front office will be plucking away in free agency but our last major move most likely came today when we signed Jake Grove to a 5yr to much money for who contract. Not a big fan of this move especially since despite stateles injury to his shoulder, played OKAY at best. We needed an upgrade...no argument there, but this is a big argument to swallow. WR, CB,DT,ILB,OT,C are the holes I feel the dolphins would like to add depth to.  Here are some of the guys i'm hoping the phins take a shot at by position.

WR:Kenny Britt, Rutgers
Ht - 6-4, Wt - 205, 40 - 4.50
Big reciever with good route running ability. Some of you already have man crushes on this guy. Justifiable but this regime doesnt draft WR's in 1st rds and i agree....but with our 1st 2nd rounder...

CB:Alphonso Smith, Wake Forest
Ht - 5-9, Wt - 190, 40 - 4.45
If only he were 2 inches taller. Great instincts,a true "ball hawk". This is my only problem with how this regime drafts..."bigger is better" not in this case.

DTRon Brace, Boston College
Ht - 6-3, Wt - 324, 40 - 5.25
Heres the popular pick only because the DT class is weak this year. Scouts love his abilitly to penetrate the gaps....but question his pass rush ability.

ILB:  Scott McKillop, Pittsburgh
Ht - 6-2, Wt - 240, 40 - 4.75
Not the sexiest pick but neither was Zach Thomas.

OT: Andrew Gardner, Georgia Tech
Height: 6-7. Weight: 304.
If Jake goes down were in trouble....if Veron goes down were in trouble.

C:Dallas Reynolds, BYU
Height: 6-5. Weight: 328.

If John Beck can vouch for him then he's good for me...seriously this guys a beast...was the leader of his unit.

There's still plenty of time for players to make a name for themselves with pro days all this month. It'll be interesting to see who we bring down for workouts. Remember....Phillip Merling came days before the draft and we all know how that turned out.
