Daily Norseman Vikings/Bears Pregame Suggestions?

I think we had a fan post similar to this preseason, but I can't find that fan post.  I'm going to the Bears game in a few weeks, and I was looking for some help on alcohol related things to do before the game.  I heard parking is limited, so its tough to tailgate, is that true?  What kind of bars are nearby and how close? Anything walking distance?
Go Vikes!!

How do you keep a Bear out of your backyard?

Put up some goal posts

Daily Norseman The Game

To echo ericj69, this was a great day.  We're 7-1.  We knew this three game stretch was going to be tough....with Baltimore, Steelers, and the Packers.  Most of us realized that winning all three was an unlikely scenario.  Winning 2 out of the 3 is what we were all hoping for, and we got it!

Daily Norseman Vikings/Steelers game. TV in Iowa

For some reason our local fox channel is not picking the obvious game to air for week 8 (Vikings vs. Steelers).  They're opening it up to a vote.

Daily Norseman Help a brother out!

I live in Iowa and they are doing a vote for the game of the week.  Right now the Vikings are leading, but the more help I can get the better.    I got screwed week 3 as they voted for the snoozefest Packers/Rams game. (thank god for justin.tv)

Daily Norseman Acceptance of the invevitable bandwagon fans

When you look at other teams that have had massive "random" bandwagon fans, most of them have already won super bowls.  I have a buddy that is still rooting for the 49ers because when he started watching football Joe Montana was their QB.  He's been in misery every year (which is funny to me) for the last decade.  Look at the Cowboys, and Steelers.  Both teams that I hate with a passion, but they racked up a massive amount of fans.  There are many reasons that people jump on a bandwagon.  One reason is a superbowl, and there are other reasons as well.  Maybe their state doesn't have an nfl team? And yes, look at the Green Bay Packers, as much as I hate to admit it they acquired many bandwagon fans in 97 because of the super bowl and because of Favre.  I'm ashamed to admit it but I have a signficant amount of Packers fans as friends, and there is a slice of that fan base that is furious at the Packers management, and find it difficult to still root for their team.

Every successful team, is loaded with bandwagon fans. A large percentage of them jumped on the ship for a reason.  Whether they're unhappy with their current team, or looking for a new team to root for, or there is one player that they're a big fan of.....it doesn't matter!  What matters is that the invevitable will happen.  Some people have voice concerns about it, however I believe that this is a process that happens to successful teams, and when the curtains close to this soap opera, some of the bandwagon fans may leave when Favre leaves.  However, my guess is that a sizable percentage of those fans will stick with the Vikings.  Especially if we win the superbowl.    In short, I feel we should welcome aboard anyone that wants to root for the Vikings, and whether they decide to stick with the team after #4 goes away remains to be seen, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because they're here for a reason.....whatever that reason may be.
