First sighting of Nike/NFL onfield gear??
Joining Janoris Jenkins in the 1st round talent, 3rd day character department is the Tide's own Dre Kirkpatrick. At 6'2" I would be very interested in this guy with either 2nd round pick.
Dagger... Was thinking I needed to write something stating we should bring him in for that same position.
Wow... Lets hope this ends ugly for the officials, the idiot who made the WIAA statement to the Times, and (most importantly) the coach of the scumbags from Connell.

Until I see it on an HDTV I cant say for sure but looking at the screen caps from this stream I think the answer is already leaning towards yes.
Feel bad for anyone who already went out and purchased a new jersey.
How I feel after last nights win.

and you can get a pretty good idea of what MIGHT have happened here. Sad Stuff.
Total amount of snaps the top 3 picks from our last 2 drafts have played through 2 games.
Brandom Graham
Nate Allen
Daniel Teo Neisham
Danny Watkins
Jaiquawn Jarrett
Curtis Marsh
Sure we can talk about inuries, how impressive Kafka looked Sunday night, and how they are getting starting contributions from a handful of other late round draft picks (coleman, LB squad) but the 1) I think they represent the weakest starters on the team 2) for a team that likes to stay young a gap like that in high end talent is scary as shit.

NFLPA to take weekend off. Continue reviewing proposed deal on Monday.
(Hopefully) The Last Lockout Fanpost
The NFLPA not reforming as a union is not an option, for the NFL to continue it is a necessity. I am not going to sit here and lie to you, saying that I am smart enough to know how the negotiations would have proceeded without the NFLPA decertifying but the fact is they stated they decertified in order to get a new deal done. That deal is now (99%) done and its now their responsibility to close Pandora's Box.
AK47
Been meaning to write a fanpost about this ever since the Deron Williams story broke. Around that same time I saw numerous outlets reporting that Andrei Kirilenko was in negotiations with Real Madrid to move over there full time but they balked at his asking price of ~5M. Now I know alot may change with this new CBA but in today's league $5M is nothing. Maybe AK was just willing to take a discount to to play in Europe and I have no idea how the taxes work over there but if we could sign him for a similar price I think its something we need to look into.
NBA Limbo
The idea of "NBA limbo" is something that scares the S out of me; To bad to ever be good, to good to ever get better. That team that is just good enough to stay out of the bottom of the lottery, but never really good enough to honestly contend. They grab a 6th-8th seed in the playoffs pretty consistently, win a couple first round games here and there, maybe even steal a 5 spot one year and advance to the 2nd round but the actual idea of them contending is laughable to most outside the team's home.
I think the Gil/Caron/AJ Wizards were the the perfect example of this type of team... the Deron Williams Jazz, Pacers and Bucks teams of the past. With the way this draft is playing out the new Wizards are in danger of falling into that same trap...
So i know this guy doesnt speak for all of hog shaven and every single site on the sbnetwork has posters like this but... to me it just seems that there are more fans like this in washington than anywhere else. Pleased to present some of the highlights from the piece...
- we are set at running back so why wast a draft pick, or sign a veteran running back while we have Ryan Torain, Keiland Williams, and James Davis. (forget about williams/stewart, greene/LT... its all about torain, williams, davis)
- our bad offensive line with the exception of... and Stephon Heyer (Stephon Heyer is hot garbage)
- the taught of us having a beater offensive line with them gives me goosebumps (the taught is terrifying)
- I still cant believe we didn't even need to draft them with a 1st round pick
- If you use our draft picks correctly on offensive linemen, and sign 2 or 3 descent offensive linemen we would have a season like Chris Johnson had maybe even beater. (All they have to do is bring in 4-6 new o-linemen and schedule the parade for mid feb. could it possibly get any beater than this??)
Mike Patterson Injury??
Havent heard any update on him since he went out of the game Sunday. Anyone heard anything??
Was hoping we would give him a shot... think he brings alot more to the table than Chad Hall does and (being from DC) would have been great to see us turn their trash into something.
Damn wish I would have screencapped it now... Stew just tweeted asking if anyone has a home remedy for a killer headache.
Would be surprised that anyone still having after effects like that would be able to play by Sunday.
I cant say for certain but Im pretty sure these were put together by NFL Films. I remember this was put together pretty well last year. +20 minutes in length so its pretty comprehensive. They also have them for the rest of the teams so feel free to fill up your ipod.
free ship w code : thankyouship48
Full priced fatheads are a ripoff but they sure do look good. At $28 bucks you really cant complain (unless you are a jerk). Thats the only philly one but they have some other football, baseball, nascar ones for as little as $14.
Link to an article from the Washington Post talking about ESPN Insiders new study that found the skins to have the least young talent in the entire league. How a team that has been so consistently bad over the last 10 years can only have 4 starters under 25 is mind boggling. Everyone knows Orakpo is a player but past him you have Trent Williams (rookie), Devin Thomas (bust), and Laron Landry (shook).
If anyone has insider and a couple extra minutes I would love to hear what they have to say about the eagles (especially if anyone made the 25 breakout players list).
The fact that Lendale White's former college coach Pete Carroll now has given up on him does not bode well for the running back's future.
- Adam_Schefter
That was quick. The Seahawks just released LenDale White saying he was "not ready to be a member of the Seattle Seahawks."
- richeisen
I've said it before, I'll say it again... Lendale White sucks. His lack of production has nothing to do with playing behind CJ and everything to do with him sucking. Now somebody order that guy a bigmac.
What we can offer that no one else can
Looking back at the season, my last fanpost (Potential 6-10 targets because there is no way we win the lottery) sure does look foolish. Leading in to the lottery I think we all had very similar feelings, we were all so sure it wasnt going to happen we almost expected it to happen. Now that it did happen it really does open up nearly endless possibilities on how this offseason can playout, if I had it my way this is how I would do it...
Seeing the raiders prepare to cut jamarcus russell makes me question that Kafka pick even more. I would take this guy over any of mid-late round QBs to be our 3rd string QB. Say what you will about him, he is as naturally talented as anyone in the league. Getting out of Oakland and a couple years of holding clipboards (and carrying equipment bags) might get through to him.
Players we could have picked instead of Kafka (pick 122) that could have helped this squad.
- Zoltan Mesko (pick 150) - wouldnt have even been a competition between him and sav
- Akwasi Owusu-Ansah (126) - Who do we have returning kicks this year?? his potential play at CB would have been a bonus.
- Matt Tenant (158) - a center that could have battled with cole to hold down the center spot until JJ gets healthy
I know this post is going to be horribly received but the idea of drafting Kolb's backup plan before getting him any help pisses me off to no end.

CBs potentially available for trade
There are 4 words banned from this fanpost... brandon, graham, earl, and thomas... moving along
I was really hoping we were going to again move up, packaging 37 + late/futures, to get into the end of round 1 and grab Kyle Wilson... unfortunately we didnt and then my hopes moved to Patrick Robinson dropping to us at 37 without us having to make any moves... unfortunately he didnt. With the top 5 cornerbacks off the board the eagles are left in a very difficult position, while we desperately need a CB2 i think we are actually pretty deep at nickel (and to a lesser extent even dime) CB. I think Joselio Hanson and/or Ellis Hobbs are both quality players and you really cant ask for much more at the nickel spot (unless you are rex ryan).
The players that are left on the board I view as either better suited to be a nickel CB (arenas), players who I just didnt research (franks, cox), or players that (to me) appear to be gimmicks (cook - height, Owusu-Ansah - return ability). Either way I think any of these players are going to have a very hard time stepping in day 1 and taking the starting role opposite of Assante.
At this point does it start making more sense to be calling other teams and seeing who might have a starting CB available with some actual experience?? I think our number one target would have to be Carlos Rogers of the Redskins. I live in DC and ive seen the ups/downs of this guys career, he cant catch a ball to save his life but he is a great cover guy. Ive seen him completely shut down Larry Fitzgerald. Rogers has worn out his welcome in DC and I am surprised he is still even in town. Only issue is the skins are so poor in the secondary we would have to include another CB in return because they dont have ANYONE else other than deangelo hall. Would Hobbs/Hanson and a 4th be too much?
Who else have you guys heard might be available?? Am I wasting my time when I should be looking into some of the 2n3/3rd round prospects I missed??
the most unpopular mock draft youll read all year
1/24 - The worst kept secret in the draft is that the Eagles want to move up from this position... If I was in charge there would be two choices 1) we move up alot and go for earl thomas (berry would be my real first choice and if he somehow gets past seven this whole thing changes... unfortunately i dont see him getting past seven or us giving up enough to get to five or six 2) we give up alot less and go for Kyle Wilson... Either player would fit into my grand scheme (which we will get into next) but Earl Thomas adds alot more versatility to it so he is the final pick.
2/37 - Here is where I lose most of you... The eagles make the rare Safety/Safety combo with their first two picks and choose Taylor Mays. I was a big fan of the 3 safety set that JJ was running a few years back and I not only plan to bring that back but also make it our base defense. We pull a linebacker and move Taylor Mays into a type of hybrid MLB/FS position with Sims/Bradley the base 2 LBs on either side... At any time we can move Mays into a more traditional LB position and play a standard 43... we can also move him back to a traditional FS role and push thomas into a CB spot and play a nickel... If you are still reading this I would appreciate you sticking with me til the end before you start the fire/pitchfork march to the comments section
2/55 - Patrick Robinson - CB/FSU - Gonna stick with it and go 3 for 3 with picks in the secondary. I admiteddly havent followed the 2nd/3rd tier of cornerbacks as much as I should have but this is the one guy who I keep coming back to. Sure he gambles but he is one hell of a player and rumor is that assante might not be here too much longer so we are gonna need a playmaker to step in and take his place.
3/70 - "Look at this idiot. We are only 3 picks in and there is no way he can say anything that will piss me off more than I already am"... I'm about to prove you wrong, with the 70th pick in the 2010 NFL draft the philadelphia eagles select RB, Dexter McCluster, Ole Miss, 170 lbs soaking wet... This is not an indictment on LeSean McCoy, more a realization that the league has changed. Unless your name is Adrian Peterson no one player can hold down a backfield by himself. Much has been stated about McCoy adding some bulk to help him withstand the pounding a #1 RB takes over the course of the year. I think this is going to be a good thing for his career, a bad thing for his speed... thats where Dexter comes in. If Westbrook doesnt get signed by GreenBay I hope the FO would take a long look at bringing him in solely as a mentor to the 2 as well
Past the Wilson/Thomas decision in the first this guy is one of my top targets in the draft. If it means I have to grab him at 55 then pick up someone like Javier Arenas here, so be it
3/87 - JD Walton C/Baylor - Am I in love with this pick?? No. But we do have to have some type of back up plan in case JJackson isnt ready for the start of the year. The only negative you hear about Walton is his lack of athleticism and his inability to get out in front of the screen play (which could be brought to whole new levels with Dexter). Would that make Tennant and/or Olsen a better fit?? Cant say so I will stick with Walton for now
4/105 - AJ Edds SLB/Iowa - Dont have much of a story for him... Ive had him going to the eagles in every other mock ive done so might as well stick with him til the end
4/121 - I figured no one is still reading this so I might as well shoot for the stars... Mike Williams WR/Syracuse... Head case or not BPA... Im an Avant fan but not big enough on him to pass up a talent like Mike for a Mike McGlynn level OL prospect
5/137 - Ernie Sims WLB/FSU/Detroit - Looooove it... one of the fastest LBs in the league and a guy I will expect to hear alot out of next year
6/200 - Zoltan Mesko P/Michigan - His dad was a pro bowler and hopefully he can become one too (bad shtick)
7/243 - LeGarrette Blount RB/Oregon - Do I still think he will be available here?? No. But I think I lost the few people that were still here with that Mike Williams pick so whats the difference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRd3jboBC68 I would have zero problems paying out Mike Bell the small portion of his guaranteed contract, sign LB, and still be up a couple 100K (vs paying Bell his full salary)
7/244 - Best OL/DL available... who knows
(I know I have not accounted for the picks we use to trade up for thomas but didnt feel like trade chart point evaluating or seeing who might be looking to trade back)
WR - Jackson, Williams
TE - Celek, Ingram
RT - Justice
RG - Cole/MJG
C - Jackson/Walton
LG - Herremans
LT - Peters
WR - Maclin, Avant
QB - Klob, Vick
FB - Weaver
HB - McCoy, McCluster, Blount
---------------------------------------------------
RE - Cole
DT - Bunk
DT - Patterson
LE - Tapp/Abriamiri
WLB - Sims
SLB - Stew
RCB - Hobbs, Robinson
FS - Thomas
3S - Mays
SS - Mikell
LCB - Samuel, Hanson

Finding the RB to complement McCoy
I cant think of a player I have been more up/down on in such a short amount of time. I went into the draft with him being a distant 5th of the RBs I was reaally interested in (Moreno, Wells, Brown, Greene) but over the course of the year he slowly won me over. While I knew he would never be a brian westbrook or a solo #1 back (do they make those anymore??) I thought he could be something if put in the right situation.
Just eagles mock draft
Surprised I havent seen more of these... Let me know if this is in the wrong place.
