Hawks are gonna do a lot of rippin and tearin this weekend....
i love tosh but the original is tooooo funny
Buckeye fans think Stanzi Sucks.... idiots
Buckeye fans are so retarded. No Big Ten fan talks out their asses more than buckeye fans. They make up stats and fail to recognize their own failures.
Season Stats.... (REMEMBER WE ARE COMPARING THE TOP OVERALL RECRUIT OF 2007 AND THE 2 STAR #98 RECRUITED QB OF 2006 WHO HAPPENS TO BE FROM MENTOR, OHIO)
QB Rating
Pryor - 165.23
Stanzi - 175.13
Yards
Pryor - 1,997
Stanzi - 2,212
TD's
Pryor - 20
Stanzi - 20
INT's
Pryor - 7
Stanzi - 3
Sacks
Pryor - 16
Stanzi - 14
Oh and Ricky is a heisman candidate who is from Ohio (I would assume they would support their own but i guess thats were class and buckeyes are different). Yes we lost to Arizona and Ricky should have never been sacked 3 or 4 times in a row. It was ridiculous, but we lost that game with special teams. Just like we lost the Wisconsin game because of special teams. We are virtually the same team as Wisconsin so I really hope they figured out why they got ROLLED by them because we are gonna do the same game plan with a healthy A-Rob. Establish the run early... like always.
But if they wanna talk.... let's talk.
They beat...
Marshall, Ohio, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, and Minnesota.... Honestly are any of those games, games they should lose? NO!
#12 Miami (now 6-3 and not ranked) who we now see aren't that impressive of a team this year and a loss to Wisconsin (now 8-1 and ranked #7). A loss in which they really got rolled in all aspects of the game. They were on the road and Madison is a tough place to play but overall not a hard schedule. Which according to SOS gives them the 68th hardest schedule in college football... they really only had to get up for 2 games this year... Miami and Wisconsin....
We beat...
Eastern Illinois, Iowa State, Ball State and Indiana. All games we should no doubt win. Indiana was sloppy but as a Hawkeye fan I know we are gonna have 1 game a year where we come out flat... normally against Northwestern.. hopefully this year it was Indiana and we got past it.
Games that were close that probably could have gone either way that we won were Penn State, Michigan, and Michigan State... We handled all of them with ease and would have beat Michigan by more if it wasn't for a garbage TD.
our losses.... Arizona... History says we don't play well heading west.. is that an excuse? maybe but its true. I expected the loss. Wisconsin.... a team we should have beat but instead shot ourselves in the foot and gave it away. Frustrating but a loss is a loss.
According to SOS we have the #17th toughest schedule. I know they love their cake walk but I think they are in for a fight at Kinnick and I hope we punch them in the mouth. We should have beat them last year with our backup QB. They may have the richer history and all that BS but none of that matters November 20th...
I know we need to focus on Northwestern... a team that LOVES to punch us in the mouth but I saw this on a forum and had to bring it up.... probably another rule I am breaking.
I would like to end this by saying I'm sorry for the following...
- Trolling for an illegal live stream of Saturdays game. (stupidity)
- Spelling errors and minor factual mistakes. (see # 6)
- Bringing up rumors about Wegher in a previous post. (a mistake)
- Posting what I thought was an illegal live stream. (see #1)
- Bringing up trash talk from other forums here. (frustration of OSU ignorance)
- Not reading the In-Game Thread Rules. (lack of hustle and preparation)
I pledge to be a model citizen of SB*Nation from here out on out.
GO HAWKS!
Why the Indiana Hoosiers scare me...
Why the Indiana Hoosiers scare me is simple.... Indiana Passing Offense vs Iowa's Pass Defense. A basic trap game scenario for the Hawks, who make it a custom of losing to either Indiana or Northwestern. Hopefully this trend will not continue since they have us in back to back weeks at home. But Northwestern is next week so lets focus on Indiana.
If Adam Robinson was health I would say the game plan would be very simple:
- control time of possession
- don't turn the ball over
- keep Ben Chappell and his gang of talented receivers off the field
With the news of Adam Robinson being 50/50, the nightmares of Stanzi's game last year, and the chilling tale of a past visit to Bloomington (2006 & James Hardy) all being prevalent in this years game... the phrase "trap game" could go from a possibility to an excuse by Sunday. (stats based on the first 8 games only OSU, MSU, and MINN have played 9 games)
Indiana Pass Offense: #1 in BIG TEN
- 219 Comp. (#1 in BT)
- 349 Attempts (#1 in BT)
- 2503 Yards (#1 in BT)
- 18 TDs (T- #3 w/ MN in BT)
- 9 INTs (T- #1 in BT w/ 4 other schools)
Breakdown - They lost Darius Willis their main RB, so they had to turn to Trea Burgess. Indiana was gonna throw the football a ton this year regardless because it is what they do, but it does go without saying that losing their most productive RB may have moved them even further from the run game. They are tied for the lead with the most INT's and with Sash and Greenwood I would say they will each have plenty of opportunities to make a big play on defense. The yards per completion was at 7.2 so that tells me they run a lot of the underneath routes, whether it be hooks, slants, posts or screens. Which concerns me because I don't have that much faith in our corners right now and they always play 7 yards off the ball. Plus having no true cover linebackers this year, could all be a major problem for Saturday. Tarp is by far our best cover linebacker and with his health issues it makes you wonder how good he can be on Saturday. Know it has been said he will play but i wonder if he is 100%.
vs. Iowa's Pass Defense: #5 in BIG TEN
- 166 Comp. (#5 in BT)
- 273 Attempts (#4 in BT)
- 1662 Yards (#7 in BT)
- 8 TDs (#10 in BT)
- 13 INTs (T- #2 in BT)
Breakdown - It's simple... teams haven't had any success running the ball against us for the most part, so they have gone to the air. Penn State, Michigan, and Michigan State our defensive line over powered their offensive line and caused havoc for the opposing QB. Penn State had the true freshman Rob Bolden who was rattled, Michigan wanted to spread the field and let Denard Robinson run on us, and Michigan State is most successful passing when they can utilize the play action which is set up by a solid running game. WIsconsin was able to over power and contain our defensive line to give Scott Tolzien time in the pocket and to make holes (somehow) large enough to fit John Clay through them but even then, this was a game the special teams lost for us not our defense.
Concerns -
- Ben Chappell is a great QB as far as a system QB goes. He has a quick release so it's hard to bring pressure which makes your coverage all the more important. Was in a boot earlier in the week but all signs point to him playing.
- Damario Belcher, Tandon Doss, Terrance Turner, and Duwyce Wilson are all talented receiving targets for Chappell to look to during the game. Belcher being the most talented... at 6'5 and 215lbs do I dare speak his name... James Hardy's clone? Doss and Turner aren't shrimp either at 6'3.
- TE Ted Bolser? Yep... the TE Ted Bolser. He has 5 TD grabs on the year and with out researching how... I would assume he is a redzone target.
- Iowa's LB's and CB's are a concern... No true cover linebackers other than Tarp who is still trying to come back from injury. Micah Hyde has been picked on all year and has given up the big play at times too.
- Adam Robinson's health.
- LB depth
Prediction - I think Iowa will win this game 34- 21. I think we will have a hard time getting to Chappell and they will slowly and methodically move the ball down the field with the short passing game. I think Coker and Rogers will be our RBs and Robinson will get the week off. I think they will pick on Hyde and our lack of LB depth. I think Sash and Greenwood will have great games and our defense will force 2 INTs.
What are your thoughts? Am I just crazy and have too much time on my hands right now?
Adam Robinson Out This Week with a Concussion?
Rumors are flying that Adam Robinson got a concussion in the 4th quarter of last weeks game vs Michigan State. I recall a moment where he was kind of held up by a MSU player who couldn't haul him down and a player came by and cleaned him up pretty good. He got up dazed, confused and blinking a lot. I have also read this is the reason he didn't do a post game interview and wasn't available on Tuesday for an interview. On the positive side, Indiana's defense is like swiss cheese that has been put through a hole puncher. Anyway has this already been discussed and i didn't see it or what is everyones thoughts???
Our RBs... (mostly just to reach the 75 word limit and I like to see myself type... you know instead of hear myself talk...)
Adam Robinson - Our hardest worker, most driven and just a guy who plays with heart because he doesnt have the skill that other backs might have. One of the hardest runners, best pass blockers, and oh ya... he has fumbled once in his two year career.... last Saturday and we recovered it.
Jewel Hampton - Probably our most skilled running back but obviously out with another torn ACL.
Brandon Wegher - Brandon is still a no show because of personal issues. Rumors swirl with what is going on and as far as we know its more than likely a redshirt year assuming he comes back.
(Ed. Note: Rumors redacted. Let's save the spurious rumor-mongering about Wegher for other sites, OK? -- Ross)
Marcus Coker - I think we were all really excited to see what this young man can do and he has done nothing but plow through defensive backs. He obviously lacks experience and it has been said that he is a very poor pass blocker.
DeAndre Johnson - A speedy freshman who is redshirting so far this year.... He missed his HS senior season with a torn ACL. One side fact... Iowa's recruiting process came down to Johnson or Wisky's James White... we don't know what DeAndre is capable of yet but still.... i hope we made the right choice...
Paki O'Meara - THE PAKI BOMB!!! He pretty much took over Jayme "the Irish Car Bomb" Murphy's spot as my favorite special teams player this year but unfortunately like Jayme... hard hits at full speed lead to concussions. Never been a very good running back, dances in the back field, slow, fumbles, but has solid hands....
Brad Rogers - A FB who is an outstanding blocker as a RS Freshman and runs hard. Looks like a bowling ball out there.
Brett Morse - Our unheralded FB who isn't much of a runner... more of a great blocker who has a solid pair of hands. A former HS QB... still waiting for the FB Pass to be put in the offense!
Jason White - Recruited as an ATH and began his career as a DB but injuries have moved him back to the offensive side of the ball. Wears #3... another red flag for the Wegher lovers out there. Only has 1 carry on the year.
Jacob Reisen - Another FB who is a RS Freshman and a former gray shirt linebacker... thats about all i know about him.
Another name I like to keep in mind is...
Jordan Cotton - Recruited as an ATH and played QB/RB/WR in high school. I think he is destined to be the next Sandeman or a slot WR but maybe an emergency RB... I heard a rumor he was working out as a RB in practice a while ago.

Is There a More Electric Stadium or Entrance in college football?
YouTube - Kinnick Stadium Entrance
Is there a more electric stadium or entrance in college football??? I haven't seen one. Certainly not a better one in the Big Ten!!
Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks! Go Hawks!
Nice little article on our new prospect Tim Collins
For the record i love the Esco/Gonzalez trade. Gonzalez wont keep hitting like he is but he is a much better clubhouse guy and had been to the playoff before. As far as the prospects and Reyes go... Toronto's 17th and 19th best prospect seems to be better than Jo Jo in my opinion... Now if we could add Corey Hart maybe??
Anyways here is the article.... i think its from last year

Heading up to Target Field this weekend for the series!
Hey guys! I don't post on here often but I read this site daily. I live in South Dakota and will be making short 5 hour drive up north into "Twins Territory" as they call it. Twins fans are obnoxious especially the last time I was up there when the Braves visited the Dome and got swept. I have been to 6 Braves games and they are 2-4 with me in the stands.... not so good. 2-1 at Home, 0-3 on the road.
Games I have seen...
- Braves vs Diamondbacks - (8/14/05) W 13-8... WP - M. Hampton LP - J. Vazquez
- Braves vs Dodgers - (8/17/05) W 10-2... WP - T. Hudson LP - O. Perez
- Braves vs Padres - 8/19/05) L 12-7.... WP - C. Park LP - M. Hampton
- Braves at Twins - (6/12/07) L 3-7.... WP - K. Slowey LP - K. Davies
- Braves at Twins - (6/13/07) L 0-6.... WP - C. Silva (complete game shutout) LP - C. James
- Braves at Twins - (6/14/07) L 2-3.... WP - D. Reyes (starter was J. Santana) LP - Bob Wickman (Big Bob blew the save after T. Hudson gave us 7.1 of shutout ball)
note - Yes you are seeing this correctly! I saw Mike Hampton pitch for the Braves twice.. a near impossible feat yet i pulled it off!
Probable Match-ups this weekend...
- Braves at Twins - (7:10 game) T. Hudson (6-1, 2.30) vs F. Liriano ( 5-3, 3.39)... two aces go at it!
- Braves at Twins - (6:10 game) D. Lowe (8-4, 4.44) vs N. Blackburn (6-2, 4.73)... two sinker ballers coming off bad outings
- Braves at Twins - (1:10 game) K. Medlen (3-1,2.79) vs K. Slowey (6-3, 3-84)... I love this matchup for Medlen!
Just thought i would make a post for the first time in a long time and let you all know what ill be up to this weekend. Anyone else gonna be at this series?

Todd Redmond & Matt Kennelly
I don't know much about him, other than the fact that we got him in the Tyler Yates deal with the Pirates. I know they project him as a 4/5 starter as an innings eater too. What does he throw for pitches? I know he has great control of the strike zone.
Matt Kennelly is another guy i dont know much about. What does he project as? Is he a good hitter?
We have a lot of people on here that know a ton about these kids so Im really hoping for some solid feedback!
Can we make an OF out of...
Josh Anderson (CF or LF), Gregor Blanco (CF or LF), Matt Diaz (LF), Brandon Jones (LF), Greg Norton (LF), Jordan Schafer (CF or LF), and just cuz he is Superman when it comes to being a utility player, Omar Infante (CF, or LF)?
or...
Do we need to sign some one or trade?
Personally...
Anderson in Center
Diaz/Norton/Jones platoon in Left.
Dont take on Swishers contract and dont sign Garrett Anderson.....although im not totally opposed to signing Jim Edmonds. I watched a lot of Cubbie games last year and he showed some pop and glove.
