Best mock draft I've seen so far
It's draftexpress, but with reasons why the teams would take the players.
Not sure if he would want to come back, but I think he's the type of backup 4 that we need. He's a restricted free agent and shouldn't command much money to sign him. I don't see the Wolves going out of their way to re-sign him since they are pretty deep in young talent at the forward spots. He can be a little wild and reckless at times, but for 15 minutes a game he should be a solid contributor. He gives us some the shot blocking that Lee does not have as well as some rebounding. For 2 or 3 million a year, I think he would be worth it. Just give him a role to play and make sure he stays within that role. I know the draft is before free agency, but I'd rather just sign AR and take the bpa at 7, than to take PJ3 at 7.

Article about rooting for the tank
I disagree with his main points. He's saying that even if we were to jump into the top 7, we still may not even get our pick. That is true, but he doesn't even state how unlikely it would be if we were to jump into the top 7. At this point, it looks like we could very well drop to the 6th worst record in the league, which would leave us with about a 4% chance of not keeping our pick. He also states that we might not get the really good player that we want. He states that Curry, Udoh, and Thompson haven't gotten us over the hump and that the next player might not be able to do it too. Personally, I'm not expecting a star if we get to keep our pick. I'd be fine with a solid starter or even rotation player. If we could get a player who is on the level of those three, I'd be more than happy. It's way better than nothing.
Garrard is our best bet. I think he fits in perfectly with what we do. Give him a few weeks to get the playbook down and gel with the offense, and he should be ready to go. That is if he's been staying in shape, which he probably has since he's been waiting to play. By the way, not a fan of the song, but the highlights are nice.
Hue Jackson Mic'd Up
Very energetic when he needs to be and very composed when he needs to be. He'll get in your mug if you screw up. I like how he took charge and let Campbell know what he was doing wrong and encouraged him to move forward. Good signs from coach so far.
Raiders sign RB Grigsby to practice squad
Very fast. Numbers from college look solid, although he was a backup in a crowded backfield.
Curry says ankle is fine
No need to worry.
For all the people who will miss the Ellis highlights(if he's traded) like myself, they will almost be made up for by Iguodala if the Ellis for Iguodala trade goes down. Not that highlights matter much in terms of winning games, but in terms of entertainment value we would not be disappointed. Warning: Lil Wayne's language.
Since there some talk that we might be taking Klay Thompson, I thought I'd post some of his highlights to get a better idea of who we'd be getting.
West talks about backcourt situation
He may be hinting at a change.
Epic Mark Jackson Impression
This guy is spot on.
Warriors interview Brian Shaw
I wonder if bringing in West is part of getting Shaw to come to join the Warriors.
DeAndre Liggins a good option in the 2nd round
A big guard who can shoot, defend, and handle. Would be nice to have him and Reggie as our backup guards. Probably one of those guys that will break out in the NBA after being a background player in college. I'm thinking he could be an Afflalo type of player.
Tristan Thompson Declares for NBA Draft
At first he said he was staying, but he changed his mind.
Sounds like Burks will enter draft
I don't see how he won't be a top 15 pick. If he's available, then we need to take him.
Same record as 06-07 season right now
Not that it means much at all, because I'm not expecting playoffs this year, but the Warriors have the same record through 66 games this season as they did in 06-07.
Center prospect Keith Benson playing on ESPN
I've never seen him play before, and even though it's against a weaker school, he looks like someone that could help. So far he's pretty much dominating. If he plays well in a tournament game against a high quality school, I could see him jump into the lottery. I wouldn't mind using our lottery pick on him.
Steinmetz: Thornton could be Williams' replacement
I don't really agree with his assesment. Reggie is a shooting guard, not a small forward. My assesment is that Thornton was brought in to backup Wright so that Reggie can stick to playing in the backcourt where he's at his best. I don't see how Thornton could be a replacement for Reggie. They are 2 completely different players. The fact of the matter is that we didn't have a back up 3 and now we have one. Whether he's a good one for us or not is yet to be determined, but I don't think this has to do with trying to replace Williams at all. If the Warriors front office is smart they won't let two quality shooting guards walk in back to back seasons.
Here's a list of the potential center prospects for the upcoming draft(s). Just decided to post this because these guys are probably our most realistic bet at getting better at center unless we are somehow able to lure a free agent center in. If Kanter is off the board by the time we pick, then I would go with the best available player and take a shot at Keith Benson in the 2nd round. He's got a lot of tools, athleticism, and has a good frame. If he could put some more weight on and develop his post game some more, he could be a real steal in the 2nd round.
Centers Comments
1. Enes Kanter 6-11 261 PF/C Kentucky Fr. Top 5 pick on talent. Eligibility and knee problems could derail his stock.
2. Lucas Nogueira 7-0 200 PF/C Estudiantes 1992 Bigtime athlete & shot blocker. Length and agility very intriguing. Raw.
3. Fab Melo 7-0 255 C Syracuse Fr. Dropped substantial weight and shows a lot of potential but needs time.
4. Jonas Valanciunas 6-11 240 C Lietuvos Rytas 1992 U18 MVP w/ 31. Needs bulk. Skill level is high for age and plays w/ passion.
5. Mason Plumlee 6-10 240 PF/C Duke So. Lacks post skills, but tremendous size and athleticism.
6. Greg Smith 6-10 249 PF/C Fresno St. So. Focused young post with tremendous strength.
7. Renardo Sidney 6-10 275 PF/C Mississippi St. So. Has lotto talent but hasn't played to his ability in 3 years. Does he want it?
8. Meyers Leonard 7-0 245 C Illinois Fr. A couple years away but very agile bigman that shows nice potential.
9. Keith Benson 6-11 225 C Oakland Sr. Hopefully he put the summer to good use in weight room. Has touch.
10. Dejan Musli 7-0 247 C Caja Laboral 1991 Lacks star potential but very long and skilled. Homeless man's Vlade.
Denzel Bowles 6-10 255 PF/C James Madison Jr., Yancy Gates 6-9 255 PF/C Cincinnati Jr., Jon Kreft 7-0 240 C Florida St. Jr., Gary McGhee 6-11 238 C Pittsburgh Sr., Robert Sacre 6-11 255 C Gonzaga Jr., Giorgi Shermadini 7-0 245 PF/C Panathinaikos (currently on loan with Union Olimpija) 1989, Joshua Smith 6-10 305 C UCLA Fr., Mike Tisdale 7-1 255 C Illinois Jr., Tony Woods 6-10 240 C N/A Jr., Tyler Zeller 6-11 240 PF/C North Carolina Jr.Here's a link to Keith Benson highlights. The guy looks like he could be a better shooting, less powerful and skinnier version of DeAndre Jordan. He's definitely got some skills to build on.

Dave Chappelle with Warrior Girls
Where has he been? He needs to come back and start another show. This is pretty cool though.
Why not take a chance?
Seems like Sean Williams may finally have his head on straight. He's got a world of talent and he's as good a big man that a team will ever find in the D-League. He's averaging 15.3 ppg on 58%, 10 rpg, and 3.3 bpg. I guarantee he would help this team more than Biedrins if his head is on straight. We need someone who can defend the basket at center, and Biedrins can't do it. This guys athleticism could complement Lee really well. We have an open roster spot, so why not? We have bigs, but they are really ineffective most of the time. Amundson is playing lousy, Udoh is still learning and isn't rebounding or defending particularily well, and Lee and Biedrins aren't defending well at all. We need a guy like WIlliams. At worst he gives us a Turiaf type presence, and at best, if we keep him around and let him grow, he could be a poor mans Stoudemire(with more defense) down low next to Lee. Here's a recent article from draft express about him.
D-League Showcase Profiles: Call-Up Candidates (Part One)
January 17, 2011
Matt Kamalsky
Former first round draft pick Sean Williams had a solid week on the floor, but the feedback we heard about him off it may have caught our attention most. On the court, Williams remains the same highly athletic defensive presence that he was in the college game, but word is that Williams has been a model citizen off the court for the Texas Legends. Becoming a first-to-arrive, last-to-leave type, Williams seems to have matured past the issues he had off the floor in the past to focus on his basketball career.
An effective complementary scorer thanks to his length and athleticism, Williams still hasn't developed a terribly polished post repertoire. However, he has shown that he hasn't lost a step as a rebounder and shot blocker. Whether he's rotating over from the weakside, defending the midrange, or crashing the boards, Williams makes an impact with his physical tools and energy. A top-call up candidate due to his terrific combination of size, athleticism, length and shot-blocking ability, Williams will earn himself a roster spot in the NBA sooner rather than later if he can continue to make good decisions off the floor.

Nnamdi says he would love to come back
Sounds pretty optimistic for us. I think he's going to stay. I think Al is going to probably give him a longer contract this time, but for a little less money per year. Something like 5 years for 60 million maybe. My prediction is that Al is going to try and go all out in free agency once the CBA mess is all settled. He's 81 and he's going to try and do whatever it takes in his mind to get a Super Bowl.
This guy is a beast. I wish we could say he was a 1st rounder and DHB was a 4th rounder. The guy is making great plays and is the only reason we even had a shot on Sunday. DHB and Murphy should be trying to step their games up and should be pushing a lot harder, since Ford is flying by them.
Jeremy Lin Summer League highlights
The multi talented David Lee.
Players to consider at number 6 and lower
These are guys that the Warriors could and/or should consider taking if guys don't drop. The talent after the top 5 is a big drop off, so a lot of these guys are in the same boat, but some make more sense to trade down for rather than use the 6th pick on them.
Greg Monroe 6'11" PF/C Georgetown: Best available at 6 in my opinion as of right now. Needs to work on low post game and lacks great athleticism, but could be a good pick and roll guy with Curry.
Al-Farouq Aminu 6'8" SF Wake Forest: Nice potential and would be decent at 6. Pretty uncertain about how good he'll be. If he shows that he has improved his perimeter game (jump shot, shooting range, ball handling) in draft workouts, and has buffed up a little bit, then I would say that he should be the pick at 6 if guys don't drop.
Cole Aldrich 6'11" C Kansas: Probably will produce similar numbers as Biedrins, so not really worth it at 6.
Ekpe Udoh 6'10" PF/C(on our team) Baylor: Really good shot blocker with good skills.
Xavier Henry 6'6" SG/SF Kentucky: Don't really see him being any better than guys we have (Azubuike, Williams, Morrow).
Ed Davis 6'9" PF North Carolina: We already drafted this guy (Wright).
Donatas Motiejunas 7'0" PF Lithuania: Really good shooting big man who will probably have difficulty down low, which is not something we need, nor want.
Hassan Whiteside 7'0" C Marshall: Not sure what to expect from this guy. Some people say he's a potential beast, and others say he's not a very good basketball player at this point. He's more of a trade down guy.
Paul George 6'8" SF Fresno State: Nice set of skills with good potential. Would be a solid player to trade down for.
Daniel Orton 6'10" C Kentucky: Didn't really get to show what he is capable of due to backing up Cousins, but looks like he has good potential. This is the guy I would really consider trading down for if Johnson and Cousins are gone. He's raw, but he looks like he could eventually be the steal of the draft. He probably would have been a top 5-10 pick next year if he stayed in school.
The heights of some of these player might be off by a little bit, but tomorrow is the NBA draft combine where they measure guys. So you could find out tomorrow.
Have a little more patience with Randolph
Why are people so quick to put Randolph on the trade block, just because he didn't average a double-double in 22 minutes a game this year? People are expecting too much from Randolph too soon in his career. Not all guys come into the league and show consistency right away. The guy is ONLY 20 years old. He's still a KID. Curry is also still a kid, but he is more mature and played college ball for 3 years and got to learn a lot in those 3 years. Randolph on the other hand only stayed in college for one year (he should have stayed longer), and is still learning a lot.
Why do so many act as if he had a dissappointing second year in terms of his play? He actually had a solid second year in my opinion. 11.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, and 1.5 bpg in 22.7 mpg is pretty good for a second year power forward who is ONLY 20. I think many people on here are really underestimating his performance in the 33 games he played in this year. A lot of people thought he would be a 15 and 10 guy in his second year, and anything short of that is considered a down year.
If you take a look at some guys who are good now at the power forward spot, they didn't play great right away. Some examples are Jermaine O'Neal (took him about 5 years to become good, and when he did, he was an all star), Josh Smith (had very similar stats to AR in his second year, but played 10 more minutes per game), David West (he didn't blossom until he got 30 plus minutes per game in his third year), Al Jefferson (Same deal as West), and Andray Blatche (Once he started playing 30 plus minutes per game when Jamison was traded, he became a major threat at the 4). Randolph is younger than those guys were when they broke out by a few years, which means he is ahead of most of them in terms of production at the beginning of their careers. Just because Randolph didn't go crazy and explode right away like KG, Duncan, Bosh, and Stoudemire did, doesn't mean he isn't going to be a star player.
Randolph only played 33 games this year, so his production was more than likely going to go up as the year went on and his minutes would have gone up. Next year he is probably going to get the chance to play 30 plus minutes a game, he'll probably get bigger and stronger, and it may be the year he breaks out. Even if it isn't, it doesn't mean that he won't break out and become the player that many people expect him to be. Don't worry about Randolph because he is right on track in where he is supposed to be in his development.

Warriors Backcourt Situation
Night in and night out Curry and Monta always seem to put up big numbers. But it is hard to tell if they really have any playing chemistry going between them. Curry seems get excited and lead the team on exciting runs, while Monta seems to be not as enthused about what is going on around him, although he has always had a quiet demeanor, and his lack of expression may not mean anything at all. The only way that the two of them are going to be able to build chemistry, is if Monta settles for second fiddle. Now that doesn't mean that he has to not be the main scorer, that just means he needs to let Curry create the offense and handle the ball, rather than him. He has shown that he is more than capable of doing that in the past when he played alongside Baron. He and Baron were able to win 48 games in their first and only full season as a starting backcourt. Monta was fine with letting Baron run the show because Baron was already the leader of the team and an older veteran, plus Monta knew that he was next in line behind Baron. That's not the case with he and Curry. Curry is the Warriors new favorite, and he is showing that he is capable of commanding the offense. Monta is probably having a problem dealing with the fact that he is not the favorite like he used to be. He might be having a hard time trying to give a lot of responsibility to a rookie in letting Curry take over the offense. That doesn't mean Monta can't still be the leader of the team, it just means he may need to let Curry quarterback the offense.
The reason why I think that the Warriors didn't make the Grizzlies trade, is because they feel or they are hoping that Monta can adjust and be able to work off of Curry, instead of the other way around. They want to see in the remaining 30 games or so, if Monta can cope with the fact that Curry is quarterback of the offense, and go back to the same role he had in the 07-08 season next to Baron. If the Warriors feel at the end of the season that Monta was not able to adjust to Curry, then I think that they will look at other options, and revisit the Grizzlies trade offer. Another thing that Riley probably factored into his decision, was the lottery. Let's say that the Warriors made that trade with the Grizzlies, then they get the number one pick (John Wall). That would mean the Warriors would have to make another trade possibly involving Mayo or Curry. Or maybe they get the number 2 pick and select Evan Turner, who can play either shooting guard or small forward. I'm sure that they will still have the opportunity to revisit the Grizzlies offer in the offseason. The Grizzlies are trying to get a guy to spice things up in Memphis, so that they don't end up having to move once again. Rudy Gay is already expected to sign with another team in the offseason, and has been rumored to have already talked about potential teams to join. The Grizzlies want to get a another "star", so that when Gay most likely leaves (they are probably not willing to pay Gay what he is expected to get on the market), they will have a guy to replace his production and his excitement, not to mention Monta would be a hometown favorite. Who knows, maybe an even better trade offer comes up. So it was only logical that they wait and see how the upcoming events pan out, and give Ellis and Curry some more time to gel together.
Warriors Should Go After Iguodala
Since there have been a whole lot of Iguodala rumors, I thought I would throw out an Iguodala to the Warriors trade idea.
Maybe a trade like this
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ylhsck6
The Warriors get a dynamic overall player in Iguodala, and Dalembert who can rebound. The Sixers get Maggette to replace Iguodalas scoring, and even though Maggettes contract is fairly large, getting rid of 2 big contracts is worth it. They also get Ronny, Wright (who could eventually start for them at power forward alongside Speights, who can play center), and expirings (maybe even throw in Georges expiring, and if they had to, maybe replace CJ with Morrow).
It's really a pretty solid deal for both teams. The Sixers are able to shed some big contracts, and get some good players in return, while the Warriors get a big piece (Iguodala just turned 26) for the future, and they would only have Dalembert for one more season I believe. Iguodala would be able to take a bunch of pressure off of Monta, and would bring a different dynamic to the team. Iguodala scores in a bunch of different ways (inside, outside, upside down), gets his teammates involved (5.7 assists for a wing), rebounds great for his size (6.9 rebounds), and plays solid defense (1.9 steals and .58 blocks). No way the Warriors would be able to resign Bosh or Amare, and Iggy is already signed for 4 more years after this one. It's better than trading for Butler (approaching 30 and seems to have passed his peak), Howard (same deal as Butler and throw in some character issues), or Gay (might demand more than what Iguodala makes and doesn't do nearly as much). You guys will probably say no way to Dalembert, but having to take on his contract for one or 2 more years is worth getting Iguodala. Maybe the Warriors wouldn't even have to give up that much for Iguodala, but I think that getting him would possibly have a similar impact as when they got Baron. I'm not saying he's as good as Baron was, but he is kind of an unnoticed star a lot of the time, and he would bring another dynamic to this team to get them back in the hunt. Also, Iguodala could put up near LeBron type numbers on the Warriors.
What do you guys think?
