There has been too many ideas suggesting that we should go out and trade for a big name player or even a quality player and risk our young talent and future. Why would want to trade young talent for guys like Gerald Wallace who has already met his potential or a guy like Josh Smith who would make no sense for our team since we already have Randolph. And you can’t have a guy like Josh Smith play small forward and be succesful because he has no shot. And why would we need a guy like Bosh who is an older and less versatile version of Randolph. I’m not even gonna comment about trying to get A.I. I’m not saying the Warriors are going to dominate the NBA in a few years but they are going to be a playoff team and hopefully a championship caliber team. If you get rid of young talent for guys who have never been real winners (Wallace, Smith, Bosh) then you’re not going to win. Don’t you want a team that will win for more than one or two years. If you get rid of young talent for aging veterans then that’s not going to happen. Look at most of the teams that have won in the past and they have either drafted the majority of their talent or had them for most of their career. Just look at San Antonio, starting back with Robinson, Duncan, Ginobli, Parker. Or the Lakers with Kobe, Shaq (majority of his career), and Fisher. My point is that the Warriors have the majority of what they need in order to win, they are just young right now. Even though it can be frustrating to lose year after year, times will change soon and you don’t want to get rid of something that has the chance to be pretty special for years to come for immediate results but then go back into a losing slump. In order to sustain winning over a period of time we have to keep the group together. Just look at the Warriors throughout the last 20 years, they draft a young player or they get him early in his career and then he leaves or gets traded and blossoms into a star for another team or times turn bad after they leave. Do you really need examples (Webber, Jamison, Arenas, Vince Carter(drafted), Richardson, Davis, Tim Hardaway, Penny Hardaway(drafted)? Just give this group at least a chance to mesh together, I mean come on they had so many injuries last season nobody could get a look at how good they can be. This team has talent and if they can stay healthy and stay on the team then they will be a contender for years top come.

What the Warriors should do in the offseason

The Warriors have a great young foundation to build around. The best thing to do is to keep the guys that have great potential, get rid of the guys that are not needed, get the guys that are needed, but to not risk the future for immediate results. First of all, we need to keep Randolph and Ellis no matter what offer comes our way. Don't go after Chris Bosh just so we can have an all star for one year. Ellis has some great scoring ability and has the potential to average 25 points a game and Randolph has a huge amount of potential and an unlimited ceiling. So why would we trade a guy who finished his season super strong by 25-4-4 and he's only 23, or a guy who came on great at the end of the season to finish as a 15 and 10 guy as a starter and he's only 19. Let's make our own all stars and build a team that can win now and in the future. Guys that are expendable that could bring in some good pieces would be Maggette, Wright, and Belinelli. Let's also try and make Crawford either opt out or get traded. What we should do is to take that trade offer of Baron for Corey Maggette, if the Clippers get Ricky Rubio. The reason Baron had an off year was because he was on a team that played a half-court style, they had no other veteran leadership, and he doesn't get along with Mike Dunleavy Sr. Then we should see what we can get for Wright and Belinelli. Maybe trade one of them to the Pistons, who will most likely be in a rebuilding mode, for a defensive energy guy like Jason Maxiell or maybe even trade both for a guy like Tayshaun Prince, who could be our 6th man and help our perimeter defense and maybe even play some PF when we go small. If that weren't to happen then maybe we could trade them seperately for some mid to late first round picks if possible, since this is a weaker draft year. With our draft picks we could get a point guard for the future, maybe a small forward for the future, and maybe a solid back up big man who can play good defense. These are just some ideas that I thought would improve the team.

Warriors Realistically Ideal 2009-2010 Starting Lineup: PG- Baron Davis, SG- Monta Ellis, SF- Stephen Jackson, PF- Anthony Randolph, C- Andris Biedrins

Let me know what you think.

It's been a pretty tough first quarter of the season and it doesn't look like we're gonna have any shot at the playoffs. But if you think about what this team has gone through and the transition that they had to make this season, then this was expected. They have been banged up all year long and really haven't been able to establish any kind of chemistry. So to find a positive, just look forward to the return of Monta Ellis. Once he comes back as well as Maggette and Jackson, then we will know what kind of team that we really have. Now I'm not sure if Maggette is still going to be on the Warriors by the time Monta is re-established, but I think that they should at least let the whole group play 10-15 games together before the deadline to see how they mesh. I think that if they develop some good chemistry as a whole, then they should be able to get back to the way they were playing last year. This is what I think the starting lineup should be:

PG: Monta, SG: Crawford, SF: Jackson/Maggette, PF: Wright/Randolph, C: Biedrins

Not quite sure who should start at the 3 and the 4, but whoever is playing better at the time should start.

I'm a Warriors fan, but this year hasn't been too good for us. So because my team has no chance of making the playoffs, I have decided that my second favorite team is the Suns, mainly because they just got my favorite player J-Rich. I have always liked their style because it's a lot like the Warriors style. But getting to the point, I think if the Suns can collectively play some solid defense, they could have a legit shot at winning the west. Not many point guards are better than Nash, J-Rich is a beast and in my opinion a top notch shooting guard, Barnes is also a former Warrior and can shoot lights out, Amare is the most athletic power forward in the league and is possibly the best overall big man when he plays good defense, and lastly Shaq is almost unstoppable when he's down on the block. Match them up against other top teams in the west and their are few if any that are better. The Warriors are the future of the NBA. Monta all day. And by the way, GSOM is the best blog site in the NBA.

Gerald Wallace

We should definitley try and trade Maggette for Wallace if possible, maybe in a three way deal. We would have a pretty good lineup if Nellie were to arrange it like this:
PG:Ellis-Watson/Crawford
SG:Jackson-Crawford/Morrow
SF:Wallace-Azubuike
PF:Wright-Randolph/Hendrix

How about this crazy idea. The Warriors trade Maggette, Azubuike and or Randolph, to the Bobcats for Richardson. It makes sense because it would make the backcourt less crowded, it would send Maggette to a slower paced team, and we would get J-Rich back. Although the Warriors would possibly be trading rid of Randolph, who is a good young talent, there really isn't going to be a starting spot for him with Jackson locked up at the 3 and Wright the future at the 4. Azubuike is awesome but it would be hard to find p.t. for him. This trade would have to be done at least 3 months into the season because of Maggettes trade restriction. Maybe the Bobcats could add another player to the deal to make it a little more even. This trade would also allow the Bobcats to get rid of Gerald Wallace easier because they would have Azubuike at the 2 and Maggette at the 4.

Bobcats Lineup: PG: Felton/ Augustin, SG: Azubuike, SF: Maggette, PF: May/ maybe Randolph (they could use a power forward and that's what he is. I don't care what they say, he is not a small forward, he doesn't play like one and he might not be quick enough to be one. All he has to do is fill otu a little bit). C: Okafor

Pretty good lineup for the future since they aren't going to win right now anyways.

Warriors Lineup: PG: Ellis, SG: Richardson, SF: Jackson, PF: Wright, C: Biedrins, 6th Man: Crawford

Now that would be more like a true Nelly kind of lineup. Crawford could come off the bench and enable the Warriors to play small ball and have him and Monta at the 1 and the 2, Richardson at the 3, Jackson or Wright at the 4 and Biedrins at the 5. It would be like when Monta came off the bench and was a huge spark plug.

J-Rich would also give us back a go-to guy in the 4th quarter to hit the big shots.

The Clippers are reportedly interested in acquiring Zach Randolph (don't worry it's not Anthony) from the Knicks. Here's a link to the source

http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/ny-spknix0712,0,1813465.story

I don't know if the clippers realize that Zach Randolph is not even close to as good as Elton Brand is and he can't play defense at all. Even though they might be around the same size and they might have similar points per game and rebounding numbers, Randolph is horrible on defense and only averaged .2 blocks per game last year. Not to mention he is not athletic at all for 6'9". The guy maybe dunked 3 times at most last year.

Just take a look for yourself

The Sixers just traded Rodney Carney and Calvin Booth to the Timberwolves for a future first round pick and some cap room to help them snag either Brand or Smith. Looks like the Warriors might be able to offer Andre Iguodala a big contract that maybe the Sixers won't be able to match if they give Brand or Smith a huge contract.

What the Warriors should do

This offseason the Warriors should not try to get Elton Brand or Maggette because honestly that is not going to make us a contender. What they should do is try to make a major run at Josh Smith or Andre Iguodala, but most likely they're not going to get either one. So they should try to use this season to develop our young guys and keep guys like Jackson to help mentor and show them how it's done. They should also look to trade some of our vets like Harrington and get some good young players in return to help build a good young team for the future. Next offseason they really shouldn't try to get any big names in free agency because they are either too old for our young team or they don't fit what we need (Kobe Bryant neither too old and fits what we need but he's probably gonna stay with the lakers, Carlos Boozer, Allen Iverson, Ron Artest, Richard Hamilton, Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, Andre Miller, Lamar Odom and Rasheed Wallace). All they should do is just keep on doing the same as the previous year. Then in 2010 they should really make a run at some guys. They will have a bunch of money to spend because they didn't spend it this year and Al will be gone and Jackson becomes a free agent. Their are some really good free agents that year but they should only go after certain ones. Let's be honest, although it would be great to sign LeBron, I hate to say it but it is very unlikely that they could get him because he's either going to the Nets, Knicks, or maybe resigning (doubt it).So here's the complete list of free agents in 2010, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Redd. In my opinion I think they should go after either Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and/or Amare Stoudemire depending on how the Warriors younger post players like Brandan Wright, Anthony Randolph, and Richard Hendrux have developed, as well as future draft picks. If they went after Wade and were to succesfully sign him, then assuming that Monta has become a solid point guard, they would have a great backcourt. If guys like Brandan Wright turn out to be busts then they could try to go after Amare or Bosh.

The ideal 2010 Warriors starting lineup: PG: Monta Ellis, SG: Dwayne Wade, SF: Anthony Randolph, PF: Brandan Wright, C: Andris Biedrins

The D-Wade Movement
